~Ava's POV
That wasn't her.
That was Tharros, my betrothed.
I spent a minute looking at her. Those words went deep into my heart.
I can't imagine living like this forever.
But then….the child!
I looked at the man and his eyes were closed. His mouth rolled with chants and words that I didn't seem to understand. "Won't you do something? The child!" I screamed, and when I looked back at her, she was folding up.
Her head went all the way between her legs and hands bent backwards….her bones were obviously breaking.
My eyes streamed with tears.
This isn't what I want.
Suddenly, the girl fell to the ground and when she did, my mother gasped, awake.
The girl's bones cracked as she unfolded. The man's chants stopped. He was silent, and he opened his eyes.
The girl gradually put all her bones back in place. It was a terrifying sight.
She finally sat on the ground with her legs folded and her eyes stiffened. Her eyes still remained the same way, white, but I could still feel her gaze on me.
"He's here," The man said and my mother crawled up to me.
I knew it. It was Tharros.
"What do you want?" The man asked, and Tharros laughed. "You should be asking her what she took from me," he answered.
The man looked at my mother, and all that she did was to shiver.
"I helped you Seven years ago, didn't I? I answered your prayer and I brought your daughter back. And now, she's all mine," Thaross spoke and tears streamed out of my eyes.
He just said that I belonged to him.
"What exactly are you?" The man asked and Thaross smiled.
"I'm Tharros. I do what I want when I want," he answered.
"You have to let go of them," the man said, and the girl's head was suddenly tilted towards me. "If I leave, she leaves with me," he spoke.
I crawled backwards. "I am not going with you!" I screamed, and just with a little move of her finger, she threw me towards the wall. I hit my head and I fell to the ground.b
"Argh!" I groaned, sobbing.
"Keep your mouth shut, you little thing!" Tharros sneered.
I won't keep quiet.
"Why don't you just leave us alone! Find someone else! Leave us alone!" I screamed.
I was about to speak again, then I choked on my own words. I could hardly breathe and my whole body was stinging with pain. It felt like I had fire traveling across my body.
I looked down at myself and there was something as long as a snake, moving inside my skin.
"Ahhh!" I cried out. It kept moving and everywhere it went brought pain upon me. I saw it moving through my skin.
I cried….. the pain didn't end.
Thaross' gaze shifted from me back to the man. "Back to you. That should keep her in place," he spoke.
"You have to leave them alone," The man said and mother was crying, looking at me.
The pain didn't end.
"And why should I leave?" Thaross asked.
"Because you should," the man coldly answer.
Thaross screeched. "And who are you to tell me what to do? What exactly do you think you are? I have been watching you all day, chanting and speaking like an idiot. Should you not be more focused on your dead mother?" He said, and he laughed, obviously mocking him. "You even brought a child. What do you think Ella would say if she finds out you brought the child to a demon? Oh, wait, Ella is a slut," Thaross said.
"Don't insult my wife!" The man yelled.
"And why shouldn't I, David? Ella is currently having sex with your neighbor. It has lasted for years, you know. If you don't believe me, you can go home and have a look," Thaross said.
David's eyes streamed with tears.
"Please…." I mouthed. The pain was getting too much. Seeing something living inside my skin…is tormenting.
"Please, David. Get a hold of yourself, he's only trying to mess with you," Mother pleaded.
"You lair! My wife would never cheat on me!" David yelled.
Thaross laughed. "You think this child is yours? You think you're the father? You're raising someone else's child," Thaross revealed and David stood up.
He looked next to him and he picked a knife. "Keep your mouth shut!" David screamed. His hands were shaking.
I could see the pain he felt, realizing that he had been lied to by his wife and the child didn't belong to him.
He stretched the knife towards the girl. "Shut up!" David screamed.
"Your wife doesn't even love you. She sleeps with men, including your friends and your neighbor to put food on your table while you go around, casting out demons," Thaross added.
David's hands were shaking as he held the knife forward.
He's going to kill the child….but suddenly, he dipped his hand into his pocket and he poured some powder all over her, then he stepped backwards, crying.
"Ahhhh!" Thaross cried.
I could hear his voice mixed with the girls. The girl was suddenly set on fire, and they both cried.
The thing crawled inside of me….I could feel it in my stomach and it went all the way to my throat. It came out through my mouth while I screamed. It was a giant centipede and it crawled off.
I cried as I threw up.
That thing came from inside of me!
"Daddy, it hurts! Daddy! Daddy! Help me! Make it stop! Daddy! Please!" The girl cried, and David would not stop crying either.
"Sam…Sam," he called and he walked through the fire.
The heat from the fire reached me. The red light and the sight of a child being burnt alive was terrifying.
Thaross growled as well.
Will he save his daughter? ... .but if he does, Thaross is set free too.
But would he leave her to burn to ashes alongside the demon?
