Penny watched as Elena stormed out of the kitchen, the sound of her footsteps echoing through the hallway. She sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and concern for her friend.
Just then, the doorbell rang again. Penny hesitated for a moment before making her way to the door. She opened it to find Nate standing there, a look of concern etched on his face.
"Is Elena okay?" he asked, his voice laced with worry. "She seemed really upset earlier."
Penny hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "She's just stressed out, that's all," she said finally. "But thanks for checking in on her."
Nate nodded, his eyes lingering on Penny's face. "If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know," he said. "I really care about Elena, and I want to make sure she's okay."
Penny smiled, feeling a pang of gratitude towards Nate. "Thanks, Nate. That means a lot."
As Nate turned to leave, Penny called out after him. "Hey, Nate?"
He turned back, a questioning look on his face. "Yeah?"
"Be patient with Elena, okay? She's going through a tough time right now."
Nate nodded, a look of understanding crossing his face. "I will," he said. "Thanks for telling me, Penny."
As Penny watched Nate walk away, she couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, Nate could be the one to help Elena heal and move on from her past.
Just then her mind flashed to Devin, was she this upset because of Devin? was that why she was always mentioning Jonal? she hurried up making sure the door was locked and went to Elena's room. "Elena we need to talk". she said. "I'm not in the mood for talks penny" Elena replied. "Are you inlove with Devin"? Penny asked.
Elena's eyes snapped towards Penny, a mixture of surprise and defensiveness flashing across her face. "What are you talking about, Penny?" she asked, her voice low and guarded.
Penny took a step closer, her eyes locked on Elena's. "I'm talking about the way you've been acting lately," she said gently. "You're always mentioning Jonal, but I think it's more than that. I think it's about Devin."
Elena's expression changed, her eyes clouding over with emotions. She looked away, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Penny sighed, sitting down beside Elena on the bed. "Elena, I've known you for a long time. I can see the way you've been acting lately, the way you were nervous around him. You're in love with him, aren't you?"
Elena's shoulders shook, and she buried her face in her hands. Penny wrapped her arms around her, holding her close as she sobbed. "It's okay, Elena," she whispered. "I'm here for you."
As Elena cried, Penny stroked her hair, trying to comfort her. She knew that Elena had been through a lot, and it was clear that her feelings for Devin were complicated.
For a start Devin wasn't the type that valued relationship, his whole life is complicated.
"Did something happen between you two"? Penny asked.

Elena's face flushed, and she looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about," she repeated.
Penny sighed. "Elena, come on. I've known you for years. I can tell when you're hiding something. What's going on with you and Devin?"
Elena's eyes snapped back to Penny's, a hint of defensiveness in her voice. "Nothing's going on, okay? Can we just drop it?"
"No Elena, we can't until you tell me what's really going on" Penny said. "I just have a crush on him, is that a crime. Please just let me be" Elena responded backing her and covering herself up. Penny just sighed and left the room. There's definitely something going on, Elena wasn't the type that flare up so easily.
