Chapter 1
'What a great summer this will be'.. I told myself that as I dropped my pen for my last and final paper . I was so excited at all the plans I already had for the next three months. I really couldn't wait .
My name is Vivian and I'm an only child with a single parent,just my mum. She's the best thing in the world. Told me my Dad had died in an accident when I was a little girl. Anyways, we were doing pretty good tbh. Good enough for me to not be able to study in the United States. I was so excited for the bright future ahead.
Immediately our papers were collected, there was this loud shout of joy that finally we were free from all the shackles of secondary school education and all the pain that came with it .
I ran over to Jane's table and we hugged each other. We were just so excited. At the end of school hours,we were briefied by the head of school mainly on matters regarding our graduation. Our graduation ceremony was happening a week later and we couldn't wait to start preparing.
Knowing I'll be leaving my best friend,Jane soon to study abroad has to be the only sad thing I was enduring. So we had a plan.. that we would spend the next three months together. It was just I and my mum anyways. We had a lot of plans for those three months. And those three months start immediately. I was so happy.
My driver came to pick me up and I reminded Jane to get ready later that evening. We were so lucky her parents were cool with that . Of course she'll visit home a few times too . We live really close to each other.
Later that evening, begged the cook,Mary to please make Jane's favorite noodles with plantain. I don't know why she loved that combination anyways as I go to pick her up with mum .
We were so surprised that they already included us in their dinner plans. That wasn't expected at all . It was cool anyways . I just had to endure sitting next to Jane's elder brother, Mathew for the next thirty minutes. I was so shy and Jane knew this so she kept staring into my soul and making silly faces at me
Mathew was my biggest crush of all time but of course,he was way older that I was . I remember the silly accident that happened while we were in JSS2 . That had to be the most embarrassing day of my life ....
The silly love letter I wrote and sent to him . I still don't know how the whole class got their hands on that letter even before he did. I still remember their faces as they read the content. Anyways,I was sitting next to this handsome, perfect guy and I really almost lost my cool . After managing through all the conversations they were making at the table I was so relieved but a bit pained that I wasn't around Mathew no more.
Jane rode her little pink box as we headed home . We had mummy play expresso by Sabrina Carpenter as we sang so loudly through the ten minutes drive .
I was so excited!
A new life was staring at me..
