Chapter 4 - ch 3 :the fall

The world, once so bright with hope, began to crumble around Eryssa. She could no longer feel the ocean's embrace, nor the warmth of Lior's love. Her heart, now a hollow shell, ached not with longing, but with emptiness. And as she drifted further from her humanity, she found herself returning to the sea—not as a child of the tides, but as a creature of rage.

The merfolk, who had once welcomed her, now shunned her. They saw the darkness in her eyes, the shadow that clung to her like a cloak. They called her the Dark Mermaid, and they feared what she had become. But it was too late. The ocean itself had turned on her, and she was its queen now—queen of the deep, queen of the abyss, where no light could reach.

Lior, who had once loved her, found himself at the mercy of her rage. She was no longer the woman he had adored. She was a monster, a creature of the deep, a force of destruction.

And so, with one final act of cruelty, Eryssa shattered the bond they had shared. She drowned him, pulling him into the ocean's cold embrace, where he would join the countless others who had fallen victim to her curse.

As his lifeless body drifted away, she felt no remorse. She was the Dark Mermaid now, and she was alone, her heart empty, her soul consumed by the ocean's dark power.

But even as the sea embraced her in its cold depths, a single thought lingered in the depths of her mind: Could she ever find redemption? Or was she lost forever to the darkness she had willingly chosen?
