Chapter 3 - Her Naked damp body

Orm returned home with a bag of snacks in hand, crunching loudly on a packet of chips as she pushed the door open. She paused in the hallway, expecting to see Ling's mess still sprawled across the room. But when she stepped inside, she was surprised. The room was… spotless.Ling's boxes were gone, her clothes neatly folded and tucked away. The books, which had previously been scattered like a hurricane had passed through, were now lined up perfectly on the shelf. Even the desk, once piled high with random knickknacks, was clear and organized.Orm blinked in surprise. She hated to admit it, but Ling had done a great job. The room looked better than it had in weeks. Still, she wasn't about to tell Ling that. "Clean freak," she muttered under her breath, though the faintest hint of a smile tugged at her lips. She climbed up to her bed, which was the upper bunk, plopping down with her snacks. She loved her position up there—it gave her the perfect perch to observe Ling without being noticed. Not that she ever watched Ling. Of course not. She just liked keeping an eye on her enemy.Orm kicked off her shoes and leaned back, opening a bag of crackers as she stared at the ceiling. The sound of the bathroom door creaking open drew her attention. She froze, eyes wide.Ling walked in, freshly showered, wrapped in only a towel.Orm's breath caught in her throat. She knew she should look away, but her eyes betrayed her. Ling, with damp hair clinging to her neck, droplets of water glistening on her skin, looked… well…Orm shook her head violently. No. No. No. She would not think about Ling like that. Ling was her mortal enemy!Ling, oblivious to Orm's presence, walked to the mirror. She hummed softly as she grabbed a hair dryer, her back to Orm. The towel hung precariously low, and Orm could feel the heat rising to her cheeks. Her face turned bright red as she tried to focus on anything else—the ceiling, her snacks, the far corner of the room. But her eyes kept drifting back to Ling.Orm shifted slightly to adjust her position, accidentally crinkling the bag of snacks in her lap. The sound broke the silence like a firecracker.Ling jumped, startled. "What the—"She spun around, her eyes widening when she saw Orm staring down at her from the top bunk. "What are you doing there?"Before Orm could answer, Ling dropped the hair dryer in surprise. It fell straight onto her foot with a loud thud."Ahh!" Ling yelped, hopping on one foot in pain.Orm reacted instinctively. She scrambled down from the bunk and rushed to Ling—not to check on her, but to grab the hair dryer."Are you okay?" Orm asked, Ling surprised by Orm's sudden concern."Okay?!"Orm scoffed, picking up the dryer and inspecting it for damage."What about my dryer? You nearly broke it!"Ling blinked. "Seriously? Your dryer? I just dropped it on my foot, and you're worried about your stupid machine?"Orm rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. It's not like you broke your leg. Don't be so dramatic."Before Ling could snap back, Orm tried to step forward, but her foot slipped on a puddle of water Ling's damp hair had left on the floor."Oh no—"In an instant, Orm lost her balance and fell forward. She grabbed for the nearest thing to steady herself—which happened to be Ling's towel. The world seemed to move in slow motion. Orm crashed into Ling, sending them both tumbling to the floor. Ling landed on her back with a surprised gasp, and Orm landed on top of her. When the chaos settled, Orm found herself lying across Ling's bare body. Her hands, by some cruel twist of fate, had landed squarely on Ling's chest. Both of them froze.Orm's cheeks turned crimson as she realized where her hands were. Ling's face was equally red, her wide eyes locked with Orm's. Their breaths mingled, shallow and quick, the tension so thick it could've been cut with a knife."I… uh… I…" Orm stammered, unable to form a coherent thought.Ling gulped, her face burning. She quickly covered Orm's eyes with one hand, shielding herself with the other. "Don't look!""I'm not!" Orm protested, though her face was still buried inches from Ling's.Using her free hand, Ling grabbed the nearest piece of clothing—a thin white t-shirt—and pulled it on as quickly as possible. Unfortunately , the shirt belonged to Orm."Okay," Ling muttered, now mostly covered. She pushed Orm off her, her voice sharp but flustered. "Get out!"Still red-faced, Orm scrambled to her feet. She backed toward the door, her hands fumbling for the handle. But before she left, she couldn't help but glance back at Ling.Ling was standing in front of the mirror, wearing Orm's oversized white t-shirt, which barely reached her thighs. The thin fabric clung to her damp skin, and she was tugging at the hem, trying to stretch it lower.Orm swallowed hard, her heart racing. Without another word, she bolted from the room, slamming the door shut behind her.Orm leaned against the hallway wall, trying to catch her breath. Her mind was a whirlwind of embarrassment, confusion, and something else she couldn't quite name."What just happened?" she whispered to herself.Ling, on the other hand, stood in the room, staring at her reflection. Her face was still flushed, her heart pounding. She clutched the hem of the shirt, her thoughts a chaotic mess."Stupid Orm," she muttered, though her voice lacked its usual bite. For the rest of the day, both girls avoided each other like the plague. Orm went outside, pretending to be busy, while Ling stayed in the room, pretending to organize things. Whenever they crossed paths, they'd quickly turn the other way, refusing to make eye contact.
