Chapter 1 - Death and Rebirth

On a Saturday evening in December 2026, under the darkening skies of Turkey's Ordu province, a black car drove through Perşembe Plateau. Inside the car were three friends named Sezayi, Taylan, and Arda. The trio had come here early in the morning to sled on the snowy slopes and hunt. They trudged through snow-covered hills, hoping to find game, but eventually gave up when they realized their efforts were futile. Returning to Sezayi's grandfather's plateau house, they stowed their rifles in the car and began sledding.

Unfortunately, they lost track of time and were caught in the evening's encroaching darkness. They had forgotten the plateau's harsh winter conditions, as the temperature steadily dropped. When Sezayi's father, Sedat, called to ask where they were, they decided it was time to leave.

As the car slid on the icy road, Taylan yelled at Arda, who was driving, "Arda, watch it! We almost fell off the edge!"

Arda retorted, "Don't yell at me! Do you think I'm doing this on purpose? If you think you can do better, come and drive. Otherwise, shut up!"

Just as Taylan was about to respond, Sezayi, sitting in the back seat, interrupted, "Enough! Damn it. You've been bickering all day, and you're driving me crazy."

The car fell silent for a moment after Sezayi's outburst. Eventually, Taylan broke the silence. "Arda, I panicked earlier. I'm sorry for what I said," he admitted.

Arda smirked and replied, "What's with the apology? Did you turn into a softie or something? Brothers don't hold grudges. No need to apologize."

Taylan, ready to smack Arda on the head, stopped when Sezayi interjected again. "Guys, stop it! The road is icy. If you keep messing around, we'll end up in hell soon enough," he warned.

As Taylan leaned back into his seat, Sezayi added, "Boys, I've got news for you. I'm going to the military. That means I'm finally becoming a man."

Taylan looked at him, surprised. "Wait, didn't you turn 20 just three months ago? When did you sign up? I haven't even applied yet."

Sezayi replied, "Dude, you're already 21. Instead of wasting time on TV shows, you should've applied for military service. That's how you become a real man."

Taylan fired back, "Damn it, are you still on about my shows? It's been a month, and you're still complaining. What's so bad about Game of Thrones? Aren't you the one who read its books?"

Sezayi countered, "Just because I read the books doesn't mean the show isn't terrible. Especially with that awful finale. If you ask me, Fire & Blood is a much better book. Honestly, I've read so many fanfictions based on it, I've lost count."

Listening to the banter from the driver's seat, Arda chuckled. "I agree with Sezayi on this. Fire & Blood is the author's best work, and the fanfiction is top-tier. Sometimes, I even daydream about what I'd do if I ended up in that world. Have you ever thought about it?" he asked.

Taylan replied without hesitation, "What would I do? I'd go straight to Westeros, swear fealty to the Targaryens or Starks, and if I had a dragon, I'd marry Princess Rhaenyra and fight for the Iron Throne."

Sezayi smirked. "With ideas like that, you wouldn't live long. If it were me, I'd join the Starks, get used to the world, and then explore Sothoryos. Maybe I'd even try to establish a new colony there. If I had a dragon, I'd skip Westeros and Essos entirely and focus on building my own city in Sothoryos—one populated solely by Valyrians. Imagine that: two centuries after the Doom of Valyria, a city of pure Valyrian blood arises. The Targaryens wouldn't let me near their dragons, though. They'd probably marry me off to one of their daughters, then poison me on my wedding night to steal my dragon," he said.

Taylan and Arda nodded in agreement, appreciating Sezayi's pragmatism. Then Arda asked, "Why do you guys prefer the Starks? If it were me, I'd go to the Vale and serve the Arryns."

Sezayi replied, "Because I'd rather deal with the cold in the North than with the backstabbing politics of the South."

Arda was about to argue but accidentally pressed harder on the gas pedal. He hadn't considered how icy the road would become. The car began to skid uncontrollably. Arda tried to regain control, but it was too late. The vehicle veered off the road and down a steep slope. As they plummeted, Taylan shouted, "Arda, if we survive this, I swear I'll find the doctor who brought you into this world and kill him!"

The crash, however, left no survivors.

In the endless black void, three white figures emerged. Their faces contorted in pain, their mouths opened in silent screams. One of them, Taylan, stopped writhing and realized he was no longer in agony. Opening his eyes, he saw only darkness and, after a moment, two other figures nearby—his friends, Sezayi and Arda. Recognizing Arda, Taylan lunged at him in a fit of rage, punching him repeatedly.

The commotion jolted Sezayi out of his trance. Opening his eyes, he was stunned to see Taylan and Arda fighting. Just as he stepped forward to intervene, a sudden burst of red fire appeared in the void.

All three froze and stared at the flames as a voice spoke:

"Welcome, those deemed worthy of a second life. You shall be reborn in the world of Ice and Fire you spoke of before your deaths. Like others granted this chance, each of you will have three wishes. However, some requests are forbidden: immortality, immunity to all diseases, indestructible armor, mind-reading, and summoning characters from other worlds, among others. Be warned: the more powerful your wishes, the greater the difficulty of this world. Events may diverge from the story you know. You may also combine your wishes."

Hearing the words of the flames, the three friends froze. None of them had anticipated that the idle fantasies they discussed in the car would turn into their reality so quickly. After two minutes of silence, Sezayi stepped forward and declared his wishes.

"My first wish is for all three of us to be born into a dragonlord house that survived the Doom of Valyria, excluding the Targaryens, and still possesses dragons. My second wish is to have the knowledge of how to forge Valyrian steel. My third and final wish is for 20 bags with a magical extension charm, each with at least 10 cubic meters of internal space."

Sezayi's wishes clearly aimed to unite the trio as a team, a strategy that caught Taylan and Arda by surprise. Both had planned to use their wishes selfishly but now realized they would need to coordinate if they wanted to survive in the brutal world of Ice and Fire.

After Sezayi finished, Taylan stepped up. "My first wish is for all three of us to be fluent in the Common Tongue, High Valyrian, and the language of the First Men. My second wish is for 200 healing potions brewed by Severus Snape. My third wish is for a recipe book written by Severus Snape that contains instructions for making healing potions using ingredients available in this world."

Finally, it was Arda's turn. Feeling the weight of his friends' gazes, he spoke with determination. "My first wish is for all three of us to possess enough skill in archery, swordsmanship, and horseback riding to survive on a battlefield. My second wish is for 15 Valyrian steel swords. My third and final wish is for 500 Ottoman composite bows and 1,000 arrows."

With their wishes completed, the red flames spoke again.

"Your wishes have been granted, but I must clarify a few things:

You will be born into House Belaegon, the seventh-ranked of the 40 dragonlord families of Valyria. House Belaegon is renowned for its expertise in forging Valyrian steel. The house words are 'Blood, Bone, and Steel.'

Each of you will be the first rider of a dragon born alongside you. These dragons are smaller than Vhagar but larger than Vermithor. However, as they are male, they cannot lay eggs. No dragon eggs remain in your family's possession.

The enchanted bags cannot hold living beings.

The number of healing potions will be reduced to 100.

Your requested combat skills will not be granted instantly but will instead develop over the course of one year. You will learn faster than usual but must train to master these skills.

Now, prepare yourselves. Your second life begins."

With that, the flames disappeared, and the void around them began to close in. Darkness consumed the trio, signaling the start of their journey.
