Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Infinity Stone

The logo on her chest was different from the standard Nova Corps uniform from Xandar, which featured the goofy design of three connected bulbs. Instead, it was a majestic, golden, eight-pointed star emblem of supreme authority.

This eight-pointed star was a symbol of strength across several major empires in the galaxy.

"Huh! This looks a bit like Captain Marvel's suit!"

Except for the color scheme and the slightly longer points on the eight-pointed star, the overall design did indeed resemble Captain Marvel's outfit.

The style was there, but the display in her visor showed that the "Nova Force" allocation on the suit was marked as "Zero" and that its status was "Unregistered."

"Nova Force? What's that supposed to mean? Disarm!"

Thanks to the fully visualized operation interface, Ella quickly figured out how to operate the Nova suit.

Following her command, the suit reverted to its bracelet form, quietly attaching itself to her wrist.

"Grrr!" Her stomach growled loudly after more than ten hours without food or water.

Ella touched her smooth and soft belly, shaking her head and sighing, "Man, the texture feels ridiculously good!"

After hastily grabbing a meal prepared by the automated vending machine, she filled her belly and felt the onset of fatigue. The excitement she'd been running on earlier faded, and exhaustion swept over her.

"I'm going to rest for a bit. Zero, wake me up in six hours."

"Understood, Your Highness," Zero replied.

With that, the lights in the captain's cabin dimmed. Surprisingly, the intelligent system was quite considerate.

Ella pulled the blanket over herself and was asleep in less than ten seconds. Her personality in her previous life had been carefree and optimistic. She never despaired, always believing that solutions would appear, and her life motto was "Where there's a will, there's a way."

In her dreams, she saw herself stomping on Thanos, punching Dormammu, shattering stars, and tearing through the void like a god.

Five hours later, before Zero had a chance to wake her, Ella woke up on her own. After all, she was still in an escape situation and couldn't sleep too deeply. However, after a few hours of rest, she felt much more refreshed.

Now temporarily out of immediate danger, Ella began to reflect on her situation.

First, the universe she was currently in didn't seem to be Earth-199999, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Second, who exactly was she?

From what Anwen had said, her current identity seemed to be the daughter of Queen Adora, the leader of the Nova Corps. However, as far as she could recall, this character didn't appear in any of the comics.

However, the Marvel comics published over the years could stack up to several stories tall, and Ella certainly hadn't read them all. So, she couldn't be entirely sure about the identity of the girl she had transmigrated into.

But even if she truly was the daughter of Queen Adora, the ruler of the Nova Corps, she had no superpowers whatsoever. Her physical strength was so weak that she couldn't even be considered a "Level Five Minion." What was the deal with that?

At this moment, Ella's head throbbed painfully. She had transmigrated into the Marvel Universe, where world-ending threats could pop up at any moment, and she didn't even have a shred of superhuman ability. How was she supposed to survive?

"Who cares who she was? Right now, I'm me, and I will survive!"

Ella stood up and slowly walked into the cockpit, her gaze resolute as she stared at the vibrant, silent stars outside the ship. Her clenched fists pressed her nails deeply into her palms.

"Your Highness, we will reach the jump point in ten minutes. Please fasten your seatbelt."

Ella quickly sat in the pilot's seat, and as she adjusted herself, her eye caught a glimpse of a small silver metal box lying on the floor. It seemed to be the same box Anwen had tried to push into her hands earlier. In her escape frenzy, Ella had tossed it onto the cockpit floor without a second thought.

"What exactly is this thing?" she muttered curiously as she picked up the small metal box and turned it over in her hands.

At that moment, she completely forgot the old saying: Curiosity killed the cat.

Bending down, Ella retrieved the silver box, sitting back in the pilot's seat as she fiddled with it. The palm-sized box was square and intricately engraved with mysterious patterns, appearing both exquisite and seamless. It looked almost like a single piece of solid metal. She held it up to her ear and shook it but heard nothing—it seemed hollow.

"What on earth is this?" Ella grumbled, about to set the box down.

Suddenly, she must have pressed something by accident because the box emitted a faint "click" as it cracked open slightly. From the opening, a dazzling golden light spilled out.

As the gap widened, the golden light grew brighter, illuminating the entire cabin like a miniature sun.

The radiant glow pierced not only through her body but also the thick hull of the ship, making the entire vessel shine like a beacon in the night. This brilliant light could be seen from thousands of kilometers away.

"What is this thing?" Ella gasped, shielding her eyes with her hand but peeking through her fingers at the source of the mesmerizing golden light: a gem that seemed to radiate directly into her very soul.

The Space Stone was blue. The Power Stone was purple. The Reality Stone was red. The Time Stone was green. The Soul Stone was orange. And the Mind Stone was yellow.

Ella couldn't recall any record of a solid golden Infinity Stone among the six known ones.

Even with her eyes closed, Ella could feel the vast, ocean-like power emanating from the golden Infinity Stone before her. The golden light bathed her face, and suddenly, a distant, seductive voice echoed in her mind.

"Ella! Take it! Ella! Claim it!"

Ella, knowing the boundless power of the Infinity Stones, recalled how Star-Lord, a half-Celestial, had nearly disintegrated upon touching the Power Stone. She understood all too well that if she dared to touch the gem, her life would likely come to an end.

Summoning every ounce of her willpower and clinging to the last thread of clarity in her mind, she resisted the overwhelming urge to grab the golden Infinity Stone.

With great difficulty, she managed to close the metal box. The moment the box shut, the golden light and the tempting voice in her mind vanished without a trace.

"Oh my god! That was close! The Marvel Universe is way too terrifying. How am I, just an ordinary person, supposed to survive here?"

Ella collapsed onto the floor of the ship, overwhelmed and utterly lost, tears almost spilling from her eyes.

Suddenly, the blaring sound of alarms echoed throughout the ship.

"Beep! Beep!"

"What's happening?" Ella exclaimed in shock.

"The Kree Empire's high-speed cruiser has exited warp at XFL-0080. If our current course is maintained, we will encounter them in three minutes," the AI system reported.

"What?! I have to handle this manually?"

Ella immediately took control of the ship and hastily performed a sharp turn, her mind racing. There was no time to ponder how the Kree Empire had so quickly pinpointed her route.

"The commander of the Kree cruiser requests to speak with you, Your Highness," the AI system informed her.

Ella hesitated for a moment before saying, "Fine, put them through."

A 3D holographic image appeared before her, revealing a fierce-looking Kree with a massive metal war hammer in hand. His expression was ruthless, and his eyes exuded a cold, menacing aura.

Ella's heart sank as she recognized the figure. It was Ronan, the Accuser, the fanatical leader of the Accuser Corps and a complete war maniac.

"Princess Nova," Ronan said in a cold, commanding tone, "hand over the Infinity Stone, and I might spare your life."
