Chapter 12 - 12. April Fool Day

Bryan woke up to sunlight streaming through his window. His giant form stretched out as he sat up, his muscles rippling under the light. He longed for a fun day with his friend Pika and thought about the prank he planned for her. April Fools' Day was here, and he wanted to start with a good laugh. Pika was always full of clever tricks, so he wanted to get her good this time.

After planning his prank for a moment, he decided to wait until she was awake. He imagined how surprised she would be. He heard her rustling in her dollhouse room, but he kept quiet, trying to hide his excitement. Finally, when he thought she might be up, he opened his door and stepped outside his room.

Bryan walked slowly along the hallway, acting like he did not see Pika at all. He could hear her soft movements and knew she was close. He grinned wickedly as he lifted his foot high above her. Pika was only the size of half his toe nowadays. It made him chuckle to think about how this day would turn out. As his foot aimed to come down, he paused just before it touched the floor.

Pika had just woken up and was excited to think about her plans. She peeped out of her dollhouse room to see if Bryan was still asleep. As she ventured out, a gasp escaped her lips. Bryan was walking right next to her, his foot looming over her. Panic surged through her, knowing his foot was about to land on her. Just as she braced for the impact, Bryan halted his foot, and with a wide grin, said, Happy April Fools' Day!

Pika was shocked for a moment, her heart racing. But then, laughter bubbled up inside her, and they both burst into giggles. "You scared me!" Pika exclaimed, still trying to catch her breath. "I really thought I would be flattened!"

Bryan chuckled, feeling proud of his prank. "You know I would never hurt you!"

Once the laughter faded, Pika decided it was her turn to prank him. They both enjoyed the playful spirit of the day. She quickly returned to her room and grabbed her little dog, a tiny creature named Buddy. Pika had a fun idea. She would put Buddy right on Bryan's toothbrush. It would be hilarious to see his reaction.

When Bryan finally went to brush his teeth, he grabbed his toothbrush and noticed something small and fuzzy on it. He squinted and realized it was Buddy! Startled, he dropped the toothbrush and jumped back. "What's this? A tiny dog?" he exclaimed, trying not to laugh at the mischief.

Pika, still in her room, could hear his surprise. "Did I scare you?" she called out with a grin.

"I need a new toothbrush now!" he said, shaking his head, but he laughed. "Nice try, Pika. You got me!" He looked for Buddy and scooped him gently into his hand, shaking his head with amusement.

After cleaning up the mess, they decided it was time for breakfast. They both made their way to the kitchen, where the smell of pancakes filled the air. Bryan prepared the food, his huge hands skillfully flipping pancakes onto plates. Pika set the table, making sure everything was just right.

They started eating, discussing their plans for the day. I think the weather will be nice. We should do something fun, Bryan suggested, taking a big bite of his pancake.

"That sounds perfect!" Pika said, her eyes shining. "But… wait. Remember what we thought about yesterday?"

"I noticed I'm growing a bit bigger, but you… you're like a gentle giant now!" she teased. Bryan laughed, flexing his muscles.

"I guess you could say I'm the king of the house," he joked. Pika laughed along; their friendship was filled with joy and silliness.

"Alright then, Mr. King, what shall we do today?" she asked, trying to sound serious.

"I want to make a special dinner for us later," Bryan said, thinking about all the ingredients he would use. "And I know you want to eat ice cream at the park."

"Yes! Ice cream sounds amazing!" Pika replied excitedly, clapping her hands. "We can get the biggest scoop and share it! I want every flavor!"

As they finished breakfast, the thought of their special day made both of them giddy with excitement. They took their dishes to the sink and cleaned up, ready for more fun.

Once the kitchen was tidied, they went to their rooms. Pika returned to her dollhouse while Bryan grabbed some of his toys that were giant-sized compared to her. They both sat down in their own spaces, smiling and dreaming about the fun they would have together tomorrow.

Each wondered how they could blend their ideas into a perfect day filled with laughter, pranks, and ice cream.
