Lyra stretched as she stepped out of the tent, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin. It had been a rough night, but at least she wasn't drowning in her own thoughts anymore.
Sarah was already up, tightening the straps on her bag. Gina stood beside her, chewing on a piece of dried meat. Kael, on the other hand, was off by the trees, arms crossed, staring into the distance as if lost in thought.
"You're finally up," Sarah said, giving Lyra a relieved smile. "Are you feeling better?"
Lyra took a deep breath. Was she better? She wasn't sure. There was still a heavy weight in her chest, but at least she wasn't completely breaking apart. "I think so," she said.
Sarah patted her shoulder. "Good. Because we need to move."
