"Kreeee!!...." a cry of a screeching vulture sounded overhead the bloody battlefield.
A flock of gnarly-looking vultures circled the smoke-filled sky, as their eyes were fixated on the many mangled corpses that lay beneath.
A particular man whose knees were smashed by a mace lay on the ground, staring at the birds with lifeless eyes.
Nearby, people were scrambling around, picking up anything of value, as some of them yanked the precious family heirlooms out of the hands of half-dead knights.
"Tch, what a good mace left muddied on the ground." an irritated, hoarse voice of a bald man sounded out, as he picked up the mace and swung it a few times.
Eventually, his eyes landed on the man with shattered knees, as a grin appeared on his face.
"As expected! This is a good weapon!" the bald man approached the lying man and without a second word, he swung the mace down to his throat, as it shattered, offering no resistance since it wasn't covered by armor.
The sudden jolt of pain seemed to have awakened the poor man for a moment, as he managed to say out a few words.
"M-My…R-Rafaella..." with that, he breathed his last.
The bald man was unconcerned with this, as he simply left, swinging his newfound mace a few times and finishing off half-dead knights along the way.
The battlefield is bloody.
The war is hell.

Nine months later.
In a distant corner of the world, a cry of a newborn echoed in the room.
"Where is the midwife?!" servants were frantically running around the woman who lay on the king-sized bed, gripping the sheets from the intense agony.
"I am here!" suddenly, a middle-aged woman burst into the room with a few young women following behind her as they swiftly began taking care of the woman whose life seemed to be withering with every breath she took.
The newborn baby kept crying, not knowing that its mother was at death's door.
"N-No, I-I am fine, give me...my baby..." the woman spoke amidst the pain and the green glow that surrounded her body.
However, her luscious golden hair kept dimming in color, indicating her approaching demise.
The servants ignored her request, as the midwife and the few women she brought with her held their hands above her womb, as a green glow coated their palms.
Seeing their indifference, rage erupted in the blonde woman's eyes, as a pulse of golden energy wave radiated out, pinning everyone to the walls, except the baby and the terrified servant that was holding it.
"Give.Me.My.Baby." the woman looked straight into that servant's eyes, her golden irises containing frightening power. The servant could only hand over the baby that was wrapped in silky white sheets.
Feeling its mother's embrace, the baby's cries gradually quieted down. The blonde woman cradled the newborn, as she looked at him with extreme adoration in her eyes, ready to give up everything for him.
"W-With your father gone...it was only a matter of time before I followed after him. I...have no will to live anymore without him in this world..."
"Forgive your mother for such selfish thoughts, but my soul perished the day he died..."
"I...nor your father, have the right to name you, as we are leaving you forever..."
"However, there…will be people to take care of you...where we...as your parents… ultimately failed..."
"My son...grow strong...and...spirited..." each of the blonde woman's words became more sluggish than the other, as she finally let her final breath...
"Madam!!!" the servants screamed in terror, as they rushed toward the lifeless woman and the baby, whose cries became louder than anything in the world.

Outside the room, under the moonlight, stood a man, gazing at the sky as two lines of tears streamed down his cheeks.
However, those sorrowful emotions didn't extend to the rest of his face, as even his eyes held perpetual coldness.
"Sister..." he quietly muttered, as memories streamed by.
"This is the path you chose at the end..." The man's voice didn't seem to be filled with any emotion, only partial nostalgia.
"...I failed..." he said, as a blue glow suddenly erupted from his body, alerting the entire estate, as kilometers of distance were shrouded in this strange energy.
Moments later, a figure silently emerged from the shadows, but they kept their distance and made sure that nobody disturbed the stoic man.
It didn't take long for the blue energy dome to come to life, as a field full of blue chrysanthemums sprouted to life.
Anyone who saw this sight would be in awe, as this power was beyond the ordinary man's understanding.
The flowers also appeared inside the room, as they formed what looked like a final farewell…a bedding of blue chrysanthemums that cradled the long-gone mother and the baby who just came to this world.
Outside the room.
The stoic man spoke four words.
"I name you Wade."
