Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Awakening

Chapter 1: The Awakening

Akira had always lived an ordinary life. A simple desk job, no big aspirations, and nothing out of the ordinary. That is, until the moment his life ended. It wasn't a grand event. No accidents or heroic deeds; simply, he was just gone. A quick flash of light, and he awoke in an entirely different world.

The first thing he noticed was the oppressive heat. He was lying in a bed made of straw, surrounded by rough-hewn wooden walls. The smell of dirt, hay, and something unfamiliar lingered in the air. As his mind cleared, Akira realized that he was no longer in his small apartment, nor was he in the modern world.

"Where am I?" he muttered to himself, rising to his feet. The room was dimly lit, with a few wooden crates piled in the corner and a window showing a dirt road leading to a distant town.

He didn't know how it happened, but it was clear: he was in another world.

Confused, Akira scrambled for answers. His body felt the same, but the sense of strangeness was overwhelming. Suddenly, a system message popped up before his eyes:

> Welcome to the Reincarnation System.

You have been granted a unique skill: World's Connector.

You may now purchase items from your previous world using this system.

Current Balance: 100 Points.

At first, he thought it was some kind of illusion or dream, but as he focused, he felt an inexplicable connection to the words. Hesitantly, he tried to interact with the message.

A screen materialized in front of him, displaying a list of items: basic necessities such as salt, soap, and even more strange options like "instant noodles" and "pizza." Everything was listed in points, and each item had a point value.

"Is this some kind of joke?" Akira muttered. He focused on the salt—just a small, basic item—and selected it. A moment later, he heard a soft ding, and in front of him, a small, neatly packaged box of salt appeared. He blinked.

"This... this is real?"

His heart raced. If this was real, it meant he had a power far beyond anything he could have imagined. Akira thought of his old life. He had worked for a company that specialized in logistics and distribution. Perhaps, in this world, his skills would finally be appreciated.

But as he looked at the simple box of salt, he realized that there was much more to this than mere convenience. He had no idea yet what consequences such a power might bring.

The more Akira thought about it, the more possibilities opened up. Would this power be a blessing, or would it become his downfall?

This is just the first chapter, and the story would continue exploring Akira's growth and the consequences of his abilities, creating a tension between practicality and the ethics of using modern-day goods in a medieval-like world.
