Chereads / Beyond the Break / Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

I wandered, lost in tears and darkness, my heart shattered into a million pieces.

How could Jordan do this to me? I thought we shared something real.

My thoughts spiraled: I was just a rebound, a temporary distraction. Rachel was the one he truly wanted.

The city lights blurred, my vision distorted by tears

I stumbled upon a quiet park bench, collapsing unto it. My body shook, sobs wracking my frame.

Jordan's POV

As I turned to head home, a nagging feeling struck me.

Something felt off. I tried calling Amelia but she didn't answer.

My concern grew, my mind racing. Where was Amelia? Why wasn't she responding?

I rushed home. My heart sinking, Amelia's belongings still lingered, but she was gone.

My regret hit like a tidal wave. Why didn't I see this coming?

Why did I underestimate Amelia's fears?

I frantically dialed her number, desperate to apologize but it went straight to voicemail.

Amelia, please come back. I love you. I was stupid, blind.

Rachel means nothing to me. Jordan's voiced cracked, his words laced with desperation.

But Amelia's phone lay silent, abandoned on the park bench.

Third person's POV

Jordan arrived at Amelia's apartment, anxious and worried.

The door swung open, revealing Kelly. Hey Jordan, Kelly said her expression guarded.

Is Amelia here? Kelly nodded stepping aside.

He entered, scanning the room for Amelia. He spotted her on the couch, red-eyed and withdrawn

Amelia, he whispered, approaching her cautiously. She looked up, her gaze piercing.

Leave. she said her voice flat. He hesitated, please Amelia, let me explain.

Kelly intervened. Jordan? Maybe you should give her some space.

Jordan's eyes locked onto Amelia's. I love you.

I was stupid. Rachel means nothing

But Amelia's expression remained icy.

Kelly guided him out. Give her time, Jordan. she's hurt.

As he left, he heard Amelia's muffled sobs.

Jordan paced outside Amelia's apartment, desperate to make things right. He sent texts, made calls, and left voicemails, pleading for forgiveness.

Amelia's silence was deafening

Days passed, Jordan's anxiety growing.

He showed up at Amelia's apartment, flowers in hand.

Kelly answered, her expression sympathetic. Jordan, I told you to give her some space. His eyes begged.

Please, just let me see her. Kelly hesitated before nodding.

Amelia sat on the bed, still withdrawn. He entered, his voice shaking. Amelia, I'm so sorry, I was blind. I love you

Her gaze remained distant. You love me? You have a strange way of showing it.

He dropped to his knees, I know I messed up. I'll do anything to regain your trust.

Amelia's voice cracked. You already had my trust. You broke it.

Jordan's eyes welled up. Please Lily, don't give up on us.

Amelia's word cut deep. I've been giving up on us since Rachel walked into your life. His face contorted in anguish. He realized it was too late. The damage was done.
