"Finally, something worthy of attacking me!" The Dark Elf muttered with a smile as he turned in the direction of the powerful roar.
The Dark Elf had been killing the past monsters with his bare hands. However, feeling the aura of the creature which had just roared. He decided against it, this time he needed to use his dagger to defeat it. That monster was powerful. In fact, it was most likely the main reason why the Dark Elf had ran into so many monsters in such little time.
-Boom!
-Boom!
The monster was getting closer and with each step it took, the ground shook more and more. Even the trees were having difficulty staying in place. Many of them had already fallen on the ground.
However, with each tremor, the Dark Elf's heart started beating faster. He couldn't wait to see what kind of monster was roaming in the lands of the Dark Elves. Most monsters stayed as far away from the Dark Elves Village, which meant that the monster currently running in his direction was lost.
"A minotaur?!" The Dark Elf exclaimed as he looked at the huge monster standing before him.
The Dark Elf looked up as the minotaur who was at the very least three times as tall and wide as him. Luckily for him, the minotaur didn't have any weapons to attack, only his bare hands. However, the basics of a minotaur were by no means small. In fact, it was extremely high, it was known as one of the strongest monsters in hand to hand combat.
Still, the Dark Elf noticed something weird about this minotaur. The color of his hair wasn't brown as usual. It was black. In fact, it was strange… but it was as if the minotaur was shrouded in darkness.
"Ah, whatever. Black or not, who cares!"
The Dark Elf jumped straight at the minotaur who still hadn't spotted the elf attacking him. Using this opportunity, the Dark Elf decided to aim for one of the minotaur's arms.
"You really think a minotaur can stop me, Prince Thalos!"
Thalos slashed as hard as he could the right arm of the minotaur. However, in the process, his dagger got stuck inside the burly arm of the minotaur, unable to complete his attack. He wasn't even able to recover the dagger.
"Ah, fuck."
Thalos looked up and the only thing he could see was a large, hairy fist heading straight for him. He wouldn't die from such a hit, but it would surely hurt him badly. If he managed to walk after getting hit like that by a minotaur, it could be considered like a miracle.
Out of fear, Thalos closed his eyes and patiently waited for the minotaur to smash him into the ground.
However, one second passed, two seconds passed, three seconds passed by, and nothing happened.
He was unscathed.
'Did it decide to spare me?' Thalos thought as he squinted his eyes open.
"Father? What are you doing here?"
Thalos couldn't believe his eyes when he saw his father within arms' reach, currently holding down the attack from the minotaur.
"Tsk, just get out of here. This isn't a monster that you can handle by yourself!"
"But-"
"Just run away with this useless guide and go to the village. I'll deal with you once I get back there."
Thalos opened his mouth, trying to think of something to say, but he knew that there was no use. His father wasn't the kind of person who negotiated. Once his mind had decided on something, there was almost no chance for it to change.
The King of the Dark Elves watched as his son ran away from battle and finally gave his attention to the hairy ball of muscle standing right before him.
"You're dead, you dirty animal. How dare you enter my territory?"
He moved so fast that the minotaur wasn't even able to spot the shadow of The King of Dark Elves as he reappeared behind him.
"However, I won't kill you right away. I need to torture you for what you were about to do to my son."
The Dark Elf decided to take his sweet time as he ripped apart both of the minotaur's arms in literal seconds. Blood flowed out of them, but the King wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon.
After ripping apart both his arms, he decided to go after his legs. To make things easier on him, he cut both of the monster's ankles, making him fall on his back. Then, he took his sweet time as he slowly, and tenderly ripped out each of his legs, making the minotaur a cripple.
Actually, it was worse than a cripple as the Black Minotaur was now on the ground without any way of standing up.
"Time to let you rot here, you ugly, hairy monster."
The King of the Dark Elves uttered those words with a very simple plan in the back of his mind. To let blood trickle out of the minotaur's body until he died. He couldn't think of any worse death at the moment.
After deciding on his plan, the King of Elves looked away from the minotaur without any intention of finishing him off and disappeared as if he had never even been there.
Then, once silence took over the surroundings, a bunch of squeaky noises suddenly resounded from the top of a tree branch.
"Isla. Is it safe? Can I go down there?"
"You overly cautious monster, I told you. He's gone. Quick, kill and Devour that strange looking minotaur before another monster arrives, or even worse, he runs out of blood."
Kai, who had been on that tree branch, watching this entire scene could only smirk inwardly as he jumped down from his hiding spot.
"Ah, I thought that he would've killed him. Oh well, thank you for the Experience Points!" Kai said as he activated [Shadow Claws] and cut off the neck of the minotaur without the slightest effort.

Kai didn't even glance at the messages that appeared before him as he looked at the dead body of the minotaur with a smile. He could feel his own body changing and evolving into a much stronger version than before. However, Kai didn't care, he knew that he could evolve into something much better than this.
"Devour him, Isla," Kai ordered as a bright light surrounded him.
"Honestly, I have no idea why you are so lucky."

"Isla, with the bloodline I currently have of the Nocturne Dragon, could I Evolve into one?"
Isla closed her eyes as she calculated if such a thing was possible. Within seconds, she opened them again.
"Yes, it's a possibility. However, you would only be a New-Born Nocturne Dragon."
"Is that stronger than my current form?"
Isla shook her head. "No, but the potential of the Nocturne Dragon is much wider and better. Your Monster Core also might undergo a change if you evolve into such a mystical dragon."
"Then what are we waiting for? Evolve me into it, immediately!"
Kai felt his body being transferred in his Evolution Space as the only thing he could see was an endless white space going on for kilometers.
A visualization of the Nocturne Dragon appeared before Kai. He grinned as he stared at it, his heartbeat getting faster.
It was an actual dragon, albeit a baby dragon.

[Body Reconstruction in progress…]
[Body Reconstruction complete.]
When Kai opened his eyes open again, he could feel that his entire being had changed once more.
He could already feel that this new evolution held much more potential than the previous one. But that wasn't the only thing that changed, when he looked within himself, around his Monster Core, he noticed that it had completely changed color.
It was now of a bright silver color.
