After thirty minutes of hard work with rinse and repeat of the thorn whip, Kaden finally took down the last boar and sighed tiredly.

Still stuck at level 4. But it was fine. The ten boars had gotten him until here and now it was time to target something a bit stronger. He could feel it. He was close. He probably only needed to find one or two more beasts to tide over the first barrier.
Kaden leaned against the tree, catching his breath as the adrenaline ebbed away, leaving his muscles sore and his mind heavy with exhaustion. The thorn whip spell had been reliable but taxing when used repeatedly. He glanced at his hands, faintly trembling from overexertion, and exhaled deeply, focusing on steadying his breath. He was almost there.
Letting out a deep breath he jumped down from the tree and started walking away from the scene of the massacre.
These boar corpses were valuable food sources at least for a couple of days so he did not plan to leave the plan entirely. Once he finished his goals he was going to circle back and see what he could scavenge. For now, he had other plans.
Kaden started slowly jogging heading further into the eastern part of the forest. He had planned to save this trip for later but now that he had learned the thorp whip skill successfully, he wanted to take some risks.
He cautiously entered the new territory when suddenly he came to a halt. Fuck! It had only taken him two seconds to run into the deviant creatures!
Standing in front of him was a lazy-eyed, scale-skinned vicious creature. He was only half as tall as him and had a pot belly but Kaden knew better than to underestimate his opponent, the kobold scout.
Kaden instantly summoned the thorn whip. The spell coalesced in his palm, its thorny tendrils snapping into existence with a sharp crack. The kobold's lazy eye narrowed, its expression sharpening as it realized the fight was imminent.
Without waiting for the creature to make the first move, Kaden lashed out with the whip, aiming for its exposed legs. The kobold widened its eyes and tumbled forward screeching in pain. Kaden did not give it any time and grabbed the spear in its hand and yanked it free with a sharp twist. He then finished the creature with a swift thrust of the spear into its chest.
The kobold let out a strangled hiss, its clawed hands grasping futilely at the weapon before slumping lifelessly to the ground.
[Ding! You have killed Kobold Scout.]
[Ding! You have leveled up]
[Ding! You can now select a Class]
One notification after another flashed before his eyes, but Kaden barely paid attention, his focus shifting to his surroundings. He crouched low, gripping the spear tightly as his Perception stat strained to pick up any signs of movement.
Kobolds were rarely alone for long, and the last thing he needed was to be ambushed by reinforcements. Seeing that nothing else was aiming for his back, he immediately retraced his steps back into the safer territory.
The kobolds can wait. It was finally class selection time!
Kaden climbed up another tree and settled on a branch where he couldn't be disturbed, his heart pounding with excitement. It was here. The moment he had been waiting for.
Taking a deep breath, he steadied his trembling hands and opened the system interface.
The screen shimmered before him, displaying several class options tailored to his current abilities and stats.
