Chapter 1 - Prologue...goodbye Alorah.

"..Andrew…can you promise me something?" A beautiful lady with stunning red eyes and blonde hair asked as she lay on the ground in a pool of her own blood. She wore a black suit that was soaked in blood as well as ripped and torn in many places..but the most striking wound, as the one where her heart was…, a gaping hole where even her ribs were visible.

She was my sister..and as I held her in my arms I stared into her darling crimson eyes.

Her hand rose to meet my face as she gently stroked my cheek and wiped the tears from my face.

She was supposed to be dead..but Heroes.. especially one as strong as my sister can survive for much longer than normal even missing vital organs..they were just better…yet..somehow..

"Who did his to you?" I asked my voice shaking and burning with bitter rage.

She smiled up to me..

" Andrew..can you promise me two things?" Her weak and pleading voice tore at my heart.

"Anything.." I said without a moment of hesitation.

"promise me…" She paused to catch her breath…" Promise me that you'll be strong."

Tears burned in my eyes.

" I c-can't…I don't have the hero gene, I c-"

" you don't need the gene to be strong..and..anyway..mum was the only one who had the gene..but I got it..and..i was..stronger than she'd ever been..you can awaken it..i know you can.."

I wanted to argue..to protest to shrug off the weight of such a heavy promise..but i grit my teeth.

" i- I promise..i'll be strong.."

She smiled..content..but blood leaks from her mouth.

" as for my second wish…please…don't be like me…don't be fooled by the pretense of this world.. th-things..are not perfect..they never have been, don't trust the capes…don't be fooled by the heroes..there are no heroes here.." She stopped and begun coughing up large amounts of blood.

" No, no," I begun to panic but she gripped my arm hard..even dying her strength easily trumped mine.

" Andrew..i'm sorry..but i-I have to go now…goodbye.." Her voice grew weaker and weaker and I couldn't help but cry..i smiled..as bright as I could and muster my strength..the strength to say goodbye.

"Goodbye..Alorah.."

….

And with that Andrew stayed there, on his knees cradling the dead body of his sister as tears flowed down his face…the ambulance and police sirens we're already blaring with blue and red lights flashing through the window of their luxury apartment.

Andrew lifted his face and stared out the window..outside were the police and the a reporter or two..the first of the bunch…it was already dark.

In front of the police approaching the house two heroes .a man with yellow hair and brown eyes in a brown jacket and black jeans..Andrew couldn't remember the man's name..but he was a hero who lived in the neighborhood..

'why is he getting here just now?' Andrew asked himself as he carefully laid his sister's body onto the floor.

He stood and glanced at himself in the reflection of a window.. his short dark hair was messy and stained in blood, his face..which was slightly good looking and used to radiate innocence and kindness was now bleak…, his Violet eyes were dark and his face pale and tear stained.

His body was frail and he was a bit short..at least for a sixteen year old.

The door flew open..or at least Andrew could hear the crashing sounds from down stairs.

'another hero?" Andrew asked himself as he could still see the yellow haired hero standing in the parking lot with his hands in his pocket.

'yeah..ofcourse he's relaxed about this..of course he doesn't care..big sis was stronger than most common heroes, whoever did this to her was way out of his league..of course he ignored it…' slowly, a small smile begun to grow on Andrew's face.

'instead of calling for help the bastard probably just choose to shut up..' as Andrew's thoughts begun spiraling the room begun to grow a little bit darker…the the siren's light grew just a bit dimmer…

'yeah that's right..i shouldn't blame him too much..after all even if he did do something what would have changed?..maybe another hero would have ended up dead…Sis did mention that there's something wrong with the heroes….'

His smile grew a little wider..his purple eyes grew brighter..yet losing warmth.

'..there are no heroes here?..what were you trying to tell me Alorah?...oh well, ill find out..i'll findout everything, and there will be someone to pay..'

"Ah..your the one that called?" A man's voice called from behind Andrew..he then slowly let the smile fade from his face before he turned to the man, he was tall with dark blue hair and grey eyes. He wore a grey fashion suit and a look of concern on his face.

"…yes, yes I am..please help, someone…"

" it's okay.." The man said with a grim look on his face as he saw Alorah's body.

" ..it's okay" He repeated as more footsteps echoed from down stairs.
