Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

The night dragged on as they remained inside the haven. The fire crackled warmly in the hearth, casting flickering shadows on the stone walls, but Serena couldn't shake the feeling that the calmness was deceiving. The wolves weren't their only concern something much darker and more sinister loomed over them.

"We need to make a plan," Callum said, his voice low. He stood by the fire, arms folded, his face grim. "The wolves won't stop. But there's more to this. I can feel it."

Ronan, leaning against the wall, looked every bit as serious. "It's bigger than just the pack. We're dealing with something older, something that has more to gain than just taking us out."

Ivy remained silent, her sharp gaze flicking around the room as though she was trying to make sense of everything. She met Ronan's eyes, then turned to Serena. Finally, she spoke.

"We need to figure out who's pulling the strings. The wolves aren't working alone.

Someone or something else is behind all of this."

Serena felt a chill run down her spine. "So we're supposed to just wait for them to show up with a master plan?"

Ivy's eyes locked onto hers. "No. We need to find out who's orchestrating this and stop them before they can do any more damage."

The weight of Ivy's words settled over the group. There was something out there, something dangerous and powerful, and they had no idea how bad it really was.

"We need to get information," Callum said, looking at the others. "We need to figure out who's behind the wolves. If it's not someone, it could be something darker."

Ronan nodded. "But we can't rush in blindly.

We need to know what we're up against before we act."

Serena's mind raced. "How do we get that information? How do we figure out what's really going on?"

Ivy stood up, determination in her eyes. "We talk to the elders of the Lycan pack. They might know something. They have more experience with dark forces like this."

Callum raised an eyebrow. "Do you really think they'll help us?"

Ivy's gaze hardened. "They have to. If they know what's out there, they'll have no choice but to help us. We can't let this thing spread."

Ronan took a deep breath. "I've heard rumors about a dark force rising in the east, but I thought they were just stories."

Serena's heart raced. "What kind of rumors?"

Ronan hesitated. "The kind of rumors that make you question everything. There's talk of an ancient being that's been hiding for centuries. Some believe it's the one who created the wolves and shaped them into what they are today. And there's a growing fear that it's waking up."

Serena felt a cold shiver of fear. The idea of something so ancient and powerful being unleashed was almost too terrifying to grasp, but she knew they couldn't ignore it. Whatever this force was, it was moving, and they were in its path.

"We can't wait any longer," Callum said, his voice firm. "We need to find the Lycan elders and learn what they know. If there's a way to stop this, we need to find it now."

Ronan agreed. "But we'll have to be cautious.

The journey to the elders won't be easy, and we don't know what kind of dangers or traps are waiting for us."

Serena stood up, her resolve hardening. "We don't have a choice. We need to stop this.

We've already come too far."

Ivy gave a small nod of approval. "Then we leave at dawn."

As they prepared for the journey ahead, Serena couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking into something much bigger than they could understand. But there was no turning back. The darkness was coming, and they had no choice but to face it head on.

The forest outside seemed to watch them, its silent presence a reminder of the dangers they were about to face.
