Chapter 8 - Chapter 9: The Anger Starts

"I can't anymore... why are you gone? Who did this? Show yourself now!" Kael demanded, his voice cracking with the weight of his frustration and despair.

The shadow, a looming figure of darkness, stepped forward, its voice dripping with venom. "You know, I can't tolerate how you speak now. I'm above you, Miss Kael," it mocked, the words laced with malice.

In a desperate attempt, Kael swung the sword, aiming straight for the shadow. But as the blade cut through it, the shadow remained unharmed. It wasn't even fazed.

"You can try all you want," the shadow taunted, its voice dark and mocking. "It doesn't matter. You can't hurt me, hahaha!"

Kael stood there, sword in hand, staring at the shadow. He knew he couldn't hurt it. He could feel the weight of his defeat settling in. His sword seemed to have no effect, and the despair took over his mind.

"Okay, that's my boy," the shadow continued, its voice dripping with contempt. "Stay there like a dog, pathetic. What can you do? You're such a damn bitch, are you waiting for someone to save you?"

Kael's heart shattered as the words cut through him. "Or maybe you want to see the past of your parents? How they died so you could live in this world of shit?" The shadow's words were like daggers. "Do you want to know? I don't hear you. Do you want to see it?"

Kael's breath hitched, his mind reeling. "No... I don't want to know..." he muttered, falling to his knees, unable to bear the weight of the truth. He cried out, breaking down in a fit of despair. "No, I don't want to know... I'm all alone..."

The shadow's laughter echoed in his ears. "Then I'll show you."

A strange, almost ritualistic energy filled the air. The shadow began weaving a complex web of strings—of every color, every hue, stretching far into the distance, as if it were tearing apart the fabric of reality itself. Kael could feel the universe itself twisting as time seemed to bend and warp around him.

How can I defeat him? Kael thought frantically. He has every type of power... what can I do now?

In that moment, Kael was thrown into the past—twenty years ago. He saw it clearly now, the horrifying truth unfolding before his eyes. "Look, you worthless thing. Look at what you've become—more than a demon. You killed them."

The image burned into his mind: his parents, dead. He saw himself, standing over their lifeless bodies, holding their heads in his hands. "On that same day, Aelina's parents found you at the lake, with their bodies. You know you killed them, Kael."

The shadow's voice cut through the darkness, taunting him. "And now, you dare to ask for forgiveness from Aelina's parents? How can you do that? You're a piece of shit. I let only her emotion remain with you, just a fragment of her. That's all you get. Nothing more."

Kael's heart sank as the reality of his actions crashed down on him. "I will let you live, for now. But know this, Kael: I'll be waiting for you. I'll be waiting for you at your sacrifice to eternity."

The shadow's presence disappeared, fading into the void, leaving Kael standing alone in the dirt, broken.

Kael collapsed, his hands gripping the ground as if to hold himself together. "Why... why did I do that? Why did I kill them? If I hadn't, none of this would have happened. But... why? What was in me?" His voice trembled with guilt and confusion. "What secret do I have that I can't remember? I only remember her... only her. What price have I paid? What have I done? Is it too late?"

Tears fell from his eyes, his pain echoing through the silence. His cries became like the keys of a broken piano, each note a painful reminder of his regret. The more he cried, the louder the sound grew, until it filled the world around him, drowning him in its sorrow.

As Kael looked up at the stars above, he saw a vast ocean stretching across the sky. A thousand threads, each one a different color, twisted together in an infinite web of fate. He stood there, paralyzed by emotion, until finally, the emptiness settled in.

In that silence, something began to stir within him. Something new was being born, something that would either save or destroy him.
