Chapter 40 - 40. THE MAGE AND THE KNIGHT CLASSES

Vikram gripped his axe tightly. He was giddy with excitement because this was the first time he was going to witness what the world was for what it was.

Vikram stepped out of the beginner village and looked at the world he had inside his body. That sounded weird, but Vikram couldn't be held down by semantics. He ran forward and took in the breathtaking scenery.

What he saw was a land that stretched very very far, seemingly to infinity. Vikram looked at the South, and he saw far great mountains that stretched into the sky, seemingly trying to pierce the heavens.

He looked at the North and saw the white mass of land stretched far. He looked forward and saw that there were small castles and buildings that were intricately connected to each other.

But there were some landmarks that left Vikram dumbfounded. He saw a tree that stretched far into the sky, seemingly reaching far above any tree could possibly reach.

On the South, he saw far away, he saw a boat of large proportions floating in the sky. He also saw small white and blue blips surrounding the boat... like ghosts.

Vikram also saw that in the very large mountains, there were creatures that were of small to him but were actually humongous. He saw a serpent of very large proportion fighting a Dragon.

This was literally Western Dragon vs Eastern Dragon.

Vikram shook his head, and moved forward to explore, but was impaled by 3 feet metal arrow. Vikram blinked and looked at his body...

He sighed.

[You have been slain.]

***************************

The man in heavy armor swung his greatsword, cleaving through two or three Neu's with each powerful arc. Each swing of the greatsword stirred up the wind, creating a gust that rippled through the battlefield. As the armored man observed the mages and Zombies entering the fray, he realized he needed to get serious. Inside his iron helmet, two pairs of royal blue eyes glinted with determination.

Vikram felt his heart beating like an engine stirring awake. He felt his whole body resonate with his heart, and he had the ability to mold, shape, and control an energy that was budding in his heart.

Concentrating, he channeled the modified Inner Gang Technique from his heart into his arm, then into his hand, and finally into his greatsword. Moments later, an ethereal blue aura enveloped the greatsword, sharpening its edge and imbuing it with a formidable power.

Vikram swung his Great Sword, the air whining as the blade cleaved through the air. With a single swing, he cut down five Neu's in one go. Each arc of the Great Sword released a blue crescent aura that detached from the blade and continued along the trajectory of his swing.

The detached blue crescent aura was incredibly sharp and lethal, slicing any Neu in its path cleanly in two. Despite its power, Vikram knew he could only perform this feat a limited number of times. Activating his aura put his nervous system into overdrive, supporting the blue particles coursing through his blood. Each time he used his ability to detach the aura from his Great Sword, his veins felt as if they were burning in molten lava.

The searing pain coursing through him was a harsh reminder of the cost of his power, but Vikram gritted his teeth and pressed on, knowing that this was the only way to stem the tide of enemies.

Vikram noticed a bar in his peripheral vision filled with blue liquid, blaring red. The image on the left side of the bar depicted a body sitting cross-legged with a blue aura burning around its outline. He was already familiar with how the energy worked.

He slowed down the workings of the Aura inside his body, and the royal blue aura around him dimmed slightly. His stance shifted to one that was extremely defensive.

Each movement was calculated, conserving energy while still fending off the advancing Neu's. Vikram knew he couldn't afford to burn out too soon. With his aura dimmed, he focused on parrying and blocking the onslaught, every step and swing meticulously measured to maintain his stamina.

Despite the defensive posture, he remained a formidable force on the battlefield. The Great Sword in his hand was a wall of defense, each swing and block a testament to his skill and experience.

Vikram was like a turtle, steadfast and unyielding, even as some Neu's burst into flames near him. His armor, heavy and encompassing, heated up intensely, threatening to cook him like a chicken in an oven. However, his aura came to his rescue. One of its passive effects was immense resistance to temperature and fortification of his immune system.

Though Barbarians were known for these perks, Knights epitomized resistance to extreme temperatures and diseases. Vikram's training and aura granted him this extraordinary resilience. As the bar in his peripheral vision returned to normal, he seized the moment.

With renewed vigor, he swung his sword again and again, cleaving apart any flesh and blood that came his way. Each strike was a testament to his relentless spirit and unbreakable will, his Great Sword a blur of deadly precision and raw power.

After hours of relentless battle, a lone heavy-armored man stood victorious. His armor was crimson with blood, and his Great Sword, now appearing almost demonic, was planted firmly into the ground. Vikram clenched and eased his hand, the metal of his armor clanking and creaking with the motion.

He had completed the final stage of the village in the [Knight] class. The battlefield around him was silent, save for the faint crackling of dying flames and the distant cries of the wounded. Vikram's breath came heavy and labored, his body exhausted and barely hanging.

Surveying the aftermath, he felt a profound sense of accomplishment and fatigue. The Neu's lay defeated, their numbers reduced to mere remnants.

Vikram brought up his panel.
