Chapter 2 - Your Blood

Kael still couldn't fully comprehend the situation. "What do you mean you need my blood? Are you a vampire or something?" he asked, half-laughing and trying to shake off the absurdity of it all. The girl tilted her head slightly, looking confused. "Yes, I am. And I'm starving," she replied calmly.

Kael laughed even more, thinking it was a joke. "What a funny joke," he said, though his eyes kept drifting to her unusual ears and tail. "What is a cosplayer doing in the woods all alone on a cold night like this? Are you lost or something?" He paused, putting a hand to his chin. "Even if you are lost, you shouldn't have been able to get into my father's forest."

Kael looked at her more carefully this time. She seemed exhausted, her pale skin glistening under the moonlight. She fidgeted with her fingers nervously. "Are you hungry? I was cooking some beef. I can give you some if you want," he offered.

The girl's gaze dropped to the ground. "Don't you get it, human? I need your blood. I usually drink animal blood. I drank from a rabbit on my way here, but it's not as filling as human blood. And... my supply of human blood has run out," she said with a serious look on her face.

Kael sighed, still thinking it was part of some strange act. "Haven't you had enough of this joke? Here, have this," he said, handing her the beef. But to his surprise, she tossed it to the ground. "Human, I am being dead serious. If I don't drink human blood soon, I will go feral. It's for the good of both of us. Please, let me drink your blood," she pleaded.

Kael's annoyance flared as he saw the food wasted. "Hey! That was good meat!" he began to yell but stopped when he saw the desperation in her eyes. This time, he looked at her seriously. "Are those real?" he asked, pointing to her ears and tail.

"Yes, human, they are real. Now please, can I have some of your blood?" she asked again, her voice trembling slightly.

Kael looked skeptical, unsure whether to believe her. "How do I know you won't just drain me dry?" he asked.

The girl smirked faintly. "Even if I did, what could you possibly do about it?" she said, though her fidgeting fingers betrayed her nervousness.

Kael noticed for the first time how thin her clothing was, revealing much of her pale skin. Despite the cold air, she didn't seem to feel it. Yet she looked so tired. He felt a pang of pity for her but still kept his guard up. "Go find someone else. I won't let you drink my blood," he said firmly.

Her shoulders slumped as she looked defeated. "Please, human. I don't want to hurt you, but my instincts are pushing me harder," she said softly.

Kael was still in shock from the entire situation. He had only heard about vampires in stories and movies. He never thought such things could exist. Yet here she was, standing right in front of him. As he stared at her, her glowing eyes caught his attention, and her breathing became heavier. "Please, human. Make your decision fast," she whispered.

Kael sighed deeply and rolled up his sleeve. "Be quick and gentle, please," he said reluctantly.

Her eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and relief. "Okay, human. I will be gentle," she said. Her fangs grew larger as she leaned closer to him. She bit into the area between his neck and shoulder, trying her best to be gentle, though she struggled to resist the richness of his blood.

Kael didn't know what to do as she bit him. Her body leaned against his, and he slowly sat down with her still feeding on him. He placed a hand on her waist, pulling her a little closer to make her more comfortable. She smirked slightly at his touch and let him wrap his other hand around her back.

After a moment, she pulled her fangs out of him. "Thank you, human. I really appreciate it," she said sincerely.

Kael smiled weakly, though his hand instinctively went to his head. "No problem. It's good to see you satisfied," he said, but his voice was faint.

"What's wrong, human? Are you okay?" she asked, noticing his pale face.

Kael looked at her, his expression hazy. "I'm fine. Just a little dizzy," he mumbled.

She looked anxious. "I'm sorry, human. I couldn't control myself. Your blood tasted really good," she said guiltily.

Kael gave her another weak smile. "This time, you have to help me," he said, his voice barely audible. He fainted in her arms as soon as he finished speaking.

"HUMAN!" she cried out, her voice echoing through the forest.
