Beep ! Beep! Beep!
" Where am I ? " Zain spoke to himself as he laid on the bed, the mattress was softer than any garbage bin he had ever slept in this startled Zain. The first thought that came in his mind was. "Am dead aren't I ?....." He was unsure of himself he attentively examined his surroundings. And a thought crossed his mind, he remembered how one of the military guys shot him.
Zain soft chuckled. " Yeah I am definitely dead, I can't believe I kicked the bucket this soon! " Zain began to laugh bitterly. " I mean I am wearing the white dress and everything."
Zain was in a stainless steel room, with a horizontally long mirror mounted on the right hand side of his bed, the room was plain and only had the necessary furniture, a bed with a mattress on it and some bed covers a steel table with a chair and a water dispenser.
Zain continued laughing each time he chuckled he was getting more and more frustrated.
" Damnation! Why did I get shot huh ! I had dreams !".
Across the mirror was an observation room where a group of men and women where seated observing Zain. Among them where scientists and command officials, one could easily tell who they each where due to there identification cards hanging above there necks.
One of the scientists pressed a button. " General he is awake "
Dan a tall young man with a sour face who was one of the scientists in the observation room said. " Do you really think that Slam rat has what we are looking for and even if he does have it , wouldn't he be useless. "
Karen the scientist who pressed the button earlier briefly looked at Zain who was now moving around the room. And spoke. " That is not our descion to make " she turned around and looked at Dan and then at the other scientists and command officials.
The door to the observation room slid open reaviling a bright light that was contrast to the room the scientists where in, the observation room had a dim almost dark light while the light outside it was bright just like the light in zain's room.
Entering the room was General Garry a wore a black suit with a white shirt inside it was as if he was radiating with aura.
The air in the room changed turning cold and heavy he walked towards the mirror take to a closer look at Zain.
"Welcome General !" All the scientists and commanding officials were in sync.
General Garry simply nodded to them and said as anything happened.

In the room, Zain's instinct drew him towards the mirror and then he sensed souls coming from beyond the mirrors.
' wait are those angels or people, no those are breathing people then....that means am not dead ! ' as this thought crossed his mind a sudden thought came to him. ' wait then these people are the ones who shot me, I once read from a magazine how they do experiments on some animals!...shit must want the same from me '
" Hey let me out of here ! I am not worth the risk " Zain said this while looking directly at the general.
General Garry who was in the room got a slit shiver and looked at the mirror he met zains eyes and asked.
" Is the mirror effect still on ?"
" Yes sir " one of the scientist answered.
" Then how is it he is looking at me like he an see me ? " Garry asked .
" Must be one of his abnormal traits, sir " Karen answered.
"Well then let's not keep our guest waiting " the general said.
General garry turnerd off the mirror effect, this made Zain see he clearly but it without his own face being reflected. Zain was a bit startled by the appearance of the general, and of the others in the room, the had much lighter and healthy looking skin than him and looked more appealing than him this also went for the general.
The general began to speak. " Hello Zain Xenos, I am General Garry and I would like to recruit you to the Scavengers Association, before you ask questions I would like to briefly tell you what or who the scavengers are. We are the biggest independent organization that trains, raises and teaches, people to Become, soldiers , politicians, scientists , engineers and diplomats. We also scavenge materials from lost cities to create items or just sell them to industries we manage nations and cities and eliminate threats.
Now when you consent you will will be taken to the academy's boys dormitory where you will be given a new set of clothes, your teeth brush, shoes and your uniform, you will be fed by the academy and you will be allowed to attend classes with the rest of the academy children. Inorder to be trained as a ranker. Now that I have said my part, do you accept ?"
Zain knew who rankers where, they where the elite of human civilization. They where at the peak of everything that Zain wanted to become. So he asked. " And what if I refuse your request?"
The general smiled and answered. " Then I will have to kill you...."
