Chapter 28 - Love Parasite

*Byron's POV*

I sat in my office trying to control my anger so I did not lash out at the so called mother of my children. I rubbed my brow in deep frustration.

"How could you feed our daughter a Love Parasite egg for that fucking piece of shit prince?" I asked once again trying to not let my anger slip into my tone yet. I didn't want her shutting down again and going silent. I needed as much information as possible.

It all started 2 weeks ago when Silvara burst into my study crying. Concerned I asked her what was happening to make her cry. That was when another person entered my home but this one I did not welcome at all.

A man with a large bow wearing dark fine clothing that only the princes personal guards were allowed to wear. "Lord Byron, Prince Blake has sent me to pick up his fiancée. Now if you will please mov-"

*BOOOOM*

While the man had been talking I had already started to scan Silvara's body and in her I found something that set me off. As I saw him try to clasp my daughters shoulder in his grimy hands I finally let my anger take me. With a thought I was in front of him slamming him to the ground with my aura at full force.

I watched as the pissant was squished into a grotesque pile of blood, viscera, and bone. I looked over when I noticed that Silvara was trying to sneak away. Scanning her again my thoughts were proven true. Someone had implanted her with a Love Parasite, and it was clearly reacting to the princes man making me think he had activated it recently.

I let my full Saint Realm Cultivation unseal. With the power coursing through my body I felt like I could do practically anything and with this much power I wasn't far off from that.

I focused again on Silvara and used my mana to capture the Parasite in her. Slowly I pulled it out of her body careful not to hurt her. After I had it out I snapped my fingers to erase it from reality.

Carefully I scanned her body and to my horror she had thousands if not tens of thousands of eggs in her body. The parasite had to had been in her for quite some time. With the extent of her condition I couldn't attack all of the eggs at one time and could only do a portion each day safely.

Gritting my teeth I began the process that would take me until the present day. I had recently finished clearing the rest of the Love Parasite Eggs when I called for my wife to be brought to my study so I could see if she knew anything about this.

"To be honest, I did it for her own good just like when I gave Tiana the Love Potion for Garret. I just don't want my daughters to suffer in poverty. Besides I am surprised that the Parasite hadn't acted up till today. I gave her that egg arou-"

"6 months ago." I cut her off with a growl. "Tell me how can you be so heartless. You already fed your daughter a Love Parasite for one man and then you tried to force not just one of them but both of them into the bed of the son of the City Lord. What kind of mother does that. You have been given everything with me and you still want to use our daughters for your machinations."

I couldn't help it and my anger spilled out with a vengeance. I couldn't believe this woman.

"This really is the last time you will see me or our daughters. You are going to be regulated to the sky dungeon until the day you die." I spoke with an icy finality in my voice. No matter if you are my wife or just a random person. If you try to harm my daughters I will use the full extent of my power to punish you.

"NO! You cant do this I am your wife!" The woman started going hysterical after hearing words.

To be honest I would probably freak out as well in her position. The place I just sentenced her to is truly the deadliest prison in the Libertine Kingdom.

I didn't give her anytime to try and plead with me. My heart has gone cold to this woman who could use her daughters as pawns in her schemes.

I called for the guards to come and take her away. I ignored her words as I looked out of the window in the direction of Axel's Estate. I had gone to find him on a number of occasions to explain Silvara's situation to him but every time I went Jeeves would meet me at the door.

Apparently Axel had left that day two weeks ago with his beast and no one had seen him since. I did a bit of investigating but his presence disappears after leaving the City Gates.

Poor Silvara hasn't been herself since having gone through all of this. It seemed like the life had been sucked out of her. I tried to talk to her multiple time and coax her out of her room but she jut blankly stared at me like she had lost her whole meaning to live.

*Sigh*

Sighing I started heading out intending to go to Axel's house to see if those other girls could help Silvara get back on her feet.

As I neared the door I saw a familiar sight, Jeeves standing at the door with his arms behind his back. As I approached I could see the weariness in his eyes. He clearly has been going through quite a bit. Before I could greet him he did it first.

"Good day Lord Byron, I regret to inform you but Master has still not returned."

He likely spoke of Axel because the last couple times I had come I was looking for him. Shaking my head I spoke with a bit of a curt tone my mood still carrying from my conversation with that woman.

"No Jeeves, I am not here looking for him. I came to see Leah and Mia, I know they are living here now."

*Sigh*

"Very well Lord Byron I will call the two of them." Jeeves spoke with a sigh. I could tell he knew something about the man I had been looking for but he was not about to say anything.

After around five minutes Leah and Mia walked out and upon seeing me they both scowled. I was about to speak when Leah jumped in first.

"Lord Tempest, to what do we owe the honor of your visit." She spoke so formally it kind of hurt my feelings considering they had become close with Silvara in the past and they would always speak warmly with me. Taking a deep breath I sorted my words before I spoke.

"Hello ladies, I am hear on behalf of my daughter. She has not been the same since everything has happened and I was wondering if you two could help me get her back on her feet."

Mia looked sad hearing my words and was about to open her mouth when Leah spoke first once again.

"Lord Tempest, I am sorry that your daughter has become that way, but if I may, she brought this all upon herself. The way she spoke about another man in front of us and Axel I cant tell you how bad that must of hurt him. Mia and myself haven't even heard from him in two weeks. What about Axel, at least Silvara is in your home. We don't even know where Axel is right now. And just let me say this, after everything that Axel had done for her if her plan was just to destroy his trust in people then she should have just stayed away from him."

The young woman spoke with great passion. I could see how angry she was at Silvara and possibly even Axel for leaving. I could tell though in truth she was just extremely sad. I took a breath and started explaining why Silvara had acted the way she did. As I explained everything I could see the fire go out in Leah's eyes replaced by sorrow. By the end of my explanation the were both angry again but for a different reason.

"How could someone's own mother be so heartless! I am sorry Lord Tempest, but your wife is a conniving bitch." Said Mia with anger tinging her cute and small voice.

"I am sorry Lord Tempest. I guess we can come over and see if we can get her back to herself." Leah spoke in a low voice possibly feeling bad for her earlier words. I just smiled at the two of them before gesturing for the two of them two follow me.

*King Mathias Libertine's POV*

I sat in my throne room listening to the report of one of my Rangers.

"Sire, when we ventured deeper into the Great Ruins Forest, we started seeing something disturbing."

He paused much to my displeasure. It seemed to just be getting to a good part. Frustration boiling over I slammed my fist onto the side of my Throne cracking the marble and gold it was made from.

"Out with it man I want to know this very instant!"

Cowering slightly the man lowers his head before continuing.

"I am sorry Sire. We started finding the remains of beast all over the place. It wasn't like anything we had ever seen before. They were all just killed with brutal efficiency. Each and everyone of them seemed to have died with a single slash of some other kind of beast. We followed the trail as fast as we could but every time we thought we were getting close to the culprit they would advance even faster once again. We tracked them all the way to the Caravian Plains. For fear of upsetting the Caravian Kingdom we did not travel any farther then the edge of the Forest."

My brow furrowed upon hearing this. If I remembered correctly Byron had said that his soon to be son in law had disappeared in that general area. But what does that have to do with all of those beast dying.

I noticed that the Ranger seemed to be waiting for me to dismiss him.

"You did fine except for the part of not angering the Caravian Kingdom. Next time I don't care if you anger them. The strongest cultivator they have in that kingdom is only at the Nascent Soul Realm, the same as you and all of my City Lords. If they jump around too much because of you tracking something or someone into their kingdom go ahead and just take it all over. I see no reason to have an aggressive flea on my kingdom's back."

"Yes Sire." With a bow he left quickly probably feeling concerned about what I just told him but it did not bother me. I only said the truth, if they get angry I will just show them that my temper is bigger.

Pushing those thought's out of my head I pulled out my phone and called Byron to tell him about this recent report.

*RINGRINGRING*

"Hello, what do you need you Mathias?" I heard his tired voice but I could still sense the steel in it as well.

"Hey there Byron, I just got a pretty interesting report from one of my Ranger Squads in the Great Ruins Forest. They said they found brutally and efficiently killed beast leading all the way to the Caravian Plains. That seems to be the last area you heard your Son in law was seen right?"

"What! Are you sure?" I could hear him light up hearing my words.

"It isn't confirmed to be him but there seems to be a good possibility that it would be him, but there is one thing that concerns me." I said pausing for suspense knowing that Byron has even less patience then me when he wants to know something.

"Damn it Mathias, cant you ever just speak plainly and get your words out?"

"Fine fine, what I am concerned about is all of the bodies of beast everywhere. Do you have any Idea on what that could have been?" I asked with slight tinge of unease coloring my voice.

Byron's reaction was anything but worried though if anything he seemed even happy hearing about this.

"Oh that, hehe, it isn't anything to worry about. If I am not wrong it was Axel just letting off some steam. He is part beast you know. His emotions are probably running amuck at this point. He only reincarnated in this world something like two to two and a half months ago so he should probably still be trying to cope with his fluctuating emotions that have just recently taken a blow because of your son. By the way I think we need to have a conversation about him Mathias."

I could hear his voice become extremely calm while saying the last bit about Blake. Knowing I couldn't get away with trying to protect the boy I sighed before replying to Byron.

"Alright old friend I guess it is time to let justice be upheld. You will have to gather everyone so I can hold a trial..."

*Axel's POV*

Blinking my bleary eyes open I see a blue sky above my head. looking around I see nothing but grassy plains as far as my eyes can see. The only thing that is familiar to me are the two giant beast sleeping on either side of me.

I slowly stood up stretching my muscles to limber up a bit. Being in these plains is concerning for me. The last thing I remember before opening my eyes here is chasing beast in the forest and feeling my heart beating with fury because of what Silvara had said about that other guy and then nothing after that.

*Sigh*

I sighed not knowing where I am or how I got here I decided to take everything one step at a time.

Step one, breakfast!
