Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 - Having Diarrhea? (Part 2)

Lu Yao held the man and put clothes on him. Qingyu brought them to her bedroom. After all, what would other think if they saw a little girl standing next to a naked man in the middle of the night in that remote corner of the ship.

Qingyu chose not to explain. She gave instructions to Lu Yao, "I will leave him to you. I will sleep in Shiyi's room." She chuckled twice, stepped away, and closed the hatch very cooperatively.

Lu Yao scanned the man's body, frowned and said, "The eighteen soul-chasing needles. It seems that it has been with you for some time. How were you able to survive until now? I can pull out the needles for you, but if you can't get through it, you will die. h

Would you like me to pull them out?"

The man whispered, only holding on to the quilt under his hands, "Thank you." Lu Yao praised the man in his heart for being brave.

The Eighteen Soul-Chasing Needles will seal off the tendons in a person's body. Even if you have great abilities, you will become a useless person. When a person is not moving, the needles will hide in the tendons but once the internal energy is activated, the pain will be unbearable akin to cramps and bone being cut. If the internal energy is activated to a certain extent, the tendons and veins will be completely severed and death will occur.

Looking at the needles that just popped out, it is estimated that the man just activated some of his internal energy earlier. Fortunately, Yan San took action quickly, otherwise, even if this man killed those three people, he would have lost his life as well.

Lu Yao closed his eyes slightly, he activated his internal energy and focused his mind. After some time, he opened his eyes suddenly then his hands moved around in an extremely fast pace, knocking out all the silver needles from the naked man's back. In just a few seconds, Lu Yao was already covered in sweat. Looking at the man again, his whole body was trembling, and his sweat was like rain.

Lu Yao wiped his sweat and said, "Fortunately, it wasn't the creator of this technique himself who injected the needles. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to do anything to help you."

"Thank you!" The man said his thanks through gritted teeth and trembles then passed out.

There was a knock on the door, and at the same time Qingyu's soft voice was heard from outside the door. She called out, "Lu Yao, I got some hot water."

Lu Yao covered the man with a quilt and opened the door. He saw Qingyu standing outside with a basin of water and a smile. He suddenly remembered that he had sneaked out to follow her and Yan San.

Yan San was blocking the way so he didn't see the scene in front of him. He heard a little bit of the conversations though and he was able to figure out what Chen Erhu and the others were doing. His face turned ashen, walked past Qingyu and said, "Since you have seen him naked then do the rest of the things to take care of him."

Before he left the room, he added, "What a sin. This is such a cruel attack. I'm afraid he won't be able to recover for a few months. Fortunately, he only activated very little of his internal energy. If he activated it fully, he would have died."

Doctor Shi took a sip of the tea handed over by Qingyu and stretched his neck a bit. He was dragged up by this girl in the middle of the night to apply medicine on a man's body.

Qingyu glanced at the man lying on her bed covered with a quilt and asked the old doctor in confusion, "Doctor Shi, you have been treating him for a few days now, right? Why didn't you tell me that he was so seriously injured?"

The old doctor answered, "When you asked Zheng Xi to bring them here, you only said to feed them well, get them on the boat and have them paddle. You didn't say that we have to check them thoroughly. He was completely silent and didn't want anyone to touch him. How would I know that there are so many old wounds all over his body."

Doctor Shi glared at Qingyu and thought to himself, "I wasn't able to touce him but even if you, a shameless girl try to rip off his shirt, you won't find anything!"

Qingyu was a little puzzled and asked further, "I don't think anyone else was injured as badly as him. Why is he the only one like this?"

She went to see his wounds because she remembered that he was the one the government official Zhou casually slapped on the embankment. She remembered that smhe had wounds but was not interested in checking further at the start. Later, when she was distributing meals in the forecastle, she found that his wounds were not healed yet and that was the time she start feeling more concerned about him.

Doctor Shi answered, "I heard that they were dispatched from Heishui Pass, and there were hundreds of people who came with them at firsy. The prison officers were overwhelmed so only a few of them died. This kid was hit by the eighteen soul-chasing needles, and his internal strength was sealed. The pain he felt should have been unbearable if he exerted any effort. He's lucky to be able to survive that period of hard work. Boss, these prisoners are not good people. What do you really plan to do if you are in danger again?"

Qingyu frowned and replied, "Well, we still need people on board. Besides, we don't know who is good or bad, and we can't deal with all of them just because of one Chen Erhu."

She clapped her hands and said, "Don't be afraid! We still have someone reliable. Where is Yan San?!"

Doctor Shi smiled slightly. After all, his boss was still a little girl, and she was full of kindness so she thought of using Yan San's services.

Everyone on the boat, including the small businessman who was on board, all had their own purposes. Only the head of the family was here. If Qingyu thinks that everything is peaceful, that's really not the case. They can just get off the boat at Northern Vietnam in front instead of going through this muddy water.

Shi Fang put down his tea cup and reminded Qingyu, "By the way, there are not many medicinal materials on the ship. This little brother is injured and sick, so he needs a lot of medicine. When we stop at Northern Vietnam, the boss can buy more medicine for him."

Qingyu declared, "We will stop in Northern Vietnam, resupply at Myanmar, and go directly to Borneo."

Doctor Shi stopped unconsciously and asked in surprise, "Go directly to Borneo?" He then added, "Are you really planning to find the Golden Silk Swallow and Blood Orchids for Boss Ding?"

Qingyu firnly answered, "Boss Ding broke his leg because of this ship. These two things are not difficult to find in Borneo."

Qingyu went to Sabah, Malaysia in her previous life. According to Doctor Shi, the Golden Silk Swallow should be in Gomantong Cave and the Blood Orchids should be found in Mount Kinabalu. Sabah is rich in orchids while Danungu in Borneo is rich in dipterocarps.

The goods brought this time are not of the highest quality, and you can't make much money by selling them at regular ports. It's better to go directly into the interior, exchange with the local indigenous people dad, and then look for medicine and oils.

Doctor Shi's face twisted for a moment, and when Qingyu looked over in confusion, he said, "Are you really that nice to everyone? "

Qingyu looked at him inexplicably, wondering if this was a compliment to her. If so, why was there a question mark?

Doctor Shi clarified, "I'm talking about you, boss." He sat down opposite Qingyu again and said, "Look! You are good to everyone but why are you not good to me?"

Qingyu asked, "What have I done wrong to you?"

Doctor Shi reasoned out, "I've been on the ship for so many days, and I've done all the hard work. Didn't you say you'd pay me wages? Do you expect me to work in vain?"

Qingyu question in annoyance, "What kind of work did you do? I brought ten barrels of fine liquor. How much was left after you drank most of it? If you were asked to cook, every single day, you would either prepare plain porridge, steamed buns, and cabbage with fried meat. As for the taste, either there is no salt added or it's so salty it can kill someone"

She looked at him angrily and continued, "I asked you to help cure that man's illness. It turned out that he was seriously ill but you didn't realize that the soul-chasing needle is the reason. If Lu Yao was not around, would you even realize it? Why did you ask me to pay you? I didn't even ask you to pay for your boat fare and food expenses!"

Doctor Shi could only utter "You!" as he pointed at Qingyu with trembling fingers. Qingyu added, "if you thing about it, you are right. At least, there is always a doctor on this ship,"

Qingyu smiled and declared, "I originally planned to count your one hundred taels of silver and divide the profits with you after I return. Since you choose to ask for wages, then I won't give you those profits. Your wage will be considered one hundred taels a day, okay?"

Doctor Shi clicked his tongue in annoyance and with gritted teeth he asked, "Who do you think I am? How can I talk about wages with you?" Shaking his sleeves, Shi hestood up gracefully and said, "I don't like owing anyone any favors, so just take the money to pay for the wine I drank."

He walked to the door and proudly said, "After the one hundred taels of goods are sold, I have the final say on what to buy afterwards. You are just a little girl. What do you know about making money?"

Looking at Doctor Shi's figure wandering out of the room, Qingyu couldn't help but laugh. After laughing, she looked at the man on the bed sadly, and whispered: "You are occupying my bed so where can I sleep? You know, I really don't want to be a good person. I saw that you still wanted to save me, although you couldn't so I helped you out."

Looking at the gradually brightening sky outside, Qingyu unconsciously thought of what Doctor Shi said. Except for Zheng Xi, everyone on the boat had their own thoughts. How could such a boat really reach the shore? This can't go on like this. She still should have the dignity of a captain.
