Lucian tried dissolving his thoughts in the buzzing sound of the crowd as he leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. Thinking too much before the start of a mission is not a good thing. 

Today's task was particularly intriguing: investigate Selene, a girl whose reputation was as enigmatic as it was terrifying. 

Lucian had heard whispers in the halls of the academy, each rumour more absurd than the last. Some students said she was the product of an ancient bloodline, others whispered of a forbidden pact with dark forces. What intrigued Lucian wasn't the gossip but, the fact that no one could explain her power. Is she too powerful, does she make you powerless, does she control you or is she just lucky? Selene was a force that no one could pin down, and that made her an ideal subject for investigation.

The Dean of the Seraphiel Academy of Warriors was very curious as to what the source of her power was and assigned this mission to Lucian. Lucian is not the only means for this investigation. But, he is the only student who is a part of the Dean's inner circle.

Selene's power was both feared and respected. She is known to never back down, to defeat anyone who stood in her way, and to leave nothing but frustration in her wake. However, no one could understand how she could wield such power. Was it magic? Was it something within her? Well, it is Lucian is there to find out.

But, there was one problem. To do that, Lucian needed to get close to her. Not necessarily emotionally, Lucian can work just fine with spying on her. But, getting the information out of someone by talking it out of them is always the best option.

And, Selene was nothing if not difficult to approach. It is not hard to guess that she doesn't like anyone. Her cold demeanour and unapproachable nature made it clear she did not want anyone near her. And if anyone tries, they will find out the hard way. However, Lucian wasn't the kind to give up so easily.

' There she is. ' Lucian's eyes finally landed on her.

Spotting her in the crowd was easy, thanks to the isolating air around her. She walks with soo much command and authority in every step that nobody just wants to be in her path. 

He loves observing his subject before acting up. He will get to introduce himself later when the introductory ceremony starts.

That's how every tournament begins—with all the participants arriving from their respective academies and gathering on large grounds. It is really unnecessary, but it was a practice introduced by The Celestiax when they were at the peak of their power and influence.
