"Dad, the project research is finished. How much longer do I have to stay here?"

At the same time, outside the Second Research Institute of Nanjiang City.

The well-dressed Gao Xue sat in the back seat of an expensive Leroux, looking visibly impatient.

The middle-aged man sitting beside her didn't scold her but instead showed a hint of a fond smile.

"That must be Chen Yun, right?" he asked with a smile, looking out the window at a figure walking out of the experimental building.

Wearing a white long coat, her face had a few freckles, with a resilient and clean aura about her.

"Yes, that's her," Gao Xue responded.

"She's always dressed so shabby, only cares about researching those worthless metals, and smells like cheap sweat."

"I have to smile at her every day, just thinking about it makes me feel disgusted..."

Gao Xue began to complain, her tone full of disdain.

The middle-aged man wasn't angry. Instead, he smiled and gently rubbed her head.

"It's okay, just one more day."

"After the review, you won't have to see her anymore."

"Oh? Really?" Gao Xue's face lit up with joy.

"When have I ever lied to you?" the man replied gently, his face full of calm confidence.

Seeing this, Gao Xue's mood improved, and she got out of the car to enter the research institute.

Click!

The car door closed.

Watching her retreating figure, the middle-aged man's gaze deepened.

"That new director doesn't seem to be cooperating with us?"

"Yes, President," the young driver in the front seat nodded quickly.

"We ran a checks. This person has some connections and is adamant about nominating Chen Yun for the review."

"You see..."

"Alright," the man said calmly. "Since the reasonable rules don't work, we'll try a different approach."

"You handle it personally. Don't make it obvious."

The young driver nodded in understanding.

But then, as if thinking of something, he spoke again.

"President, what about Chen Yun's younger brother..."

"He's just a core student, not a representative of Flame Tiger Hall."

"And... who has proof that we did it?"

Shaking his head, the middle-aged man relaxed, leaning back in the leather chair and closing his eyes to rest.

The young driver understood and didn't ask further questions.

Soon, the engine started.

The two black cars escorting the Leroux sedan slowly left the research institute.

...

"Good."

In the changing room, hearing Lin Hao's promise, Chen Feng nodded slightly.

After waiting two days, a few more hours didn't bother him. He had the patience for it.

Then, both of them stepped forward.

Not long after, they stepped onto the floor and entered the training room.

"Today's combat test, I feel like I won't be able to beat many of these people."

"Dammit, they're all so tough. Yesterday afternoon, I saw several people getting medicated."

"Who cares? Just go for it," came the loud discussions. Today marked the third day in the core class, and according to Cao Tong's rules, a combat test was required to assess everyone's skills.

Step step!

Footsteps followed, and Cao Tong's burly figure standing at nearly two meters tall, entered.

His heavy frame gave off a tremendous presence, and even though he restrained his aura, the noise in the training room quieted immediately.

"It looks like you're all ready," Cao Tong said with his thick lips moving as he surveyed the crowd before meeting Chen Feng's eyes.

He nodded imperceptibly, a brief acknowledgment, before continuing, "The rules for the sparring are simple."

"We'll draw lots, and whoever is drawn will spar with the person opposite."

"Any questions?"

His voice fell, and the expressions in the room varied.

Some were excited, others frowned, but Cao Tong took all this in as he prepared for the next steps.

In no time, under his direction, the group of over twenty people in the training room was divided into two groups—one stood on the left and the other on the right.

"Those on the left, standby while those on the right draw lots."

"Whoever gets chosen will face the person opposite."

After a quick explanation, Cao Tong soon instructed an assistant to bring a box with slips of paper and head to the right side of the room.

Lin Hao, Wu Tian, Pei Yue, and others lined up to draw their names.

Chen Feng stood on the left side, his expression neutral, silently watching the draws.

Before long, he felt a shift in perception.

He sensed a slender young man across from him, holding a paper slip and looking directly at him.

Their eyes met, and Chen Feng realized that his opponent was most likely this person.

"Wait."

Suddenly, Wu Tian's voice broke through.

The crowd looked surprised as Wu Tian walked up to the slender young man.

"Switch."

His tone was calm, and with a height advantage of ten centimeters, he looked down at the other with an air of certainty.

"Why?" The young man frowned and clenched his slip of paper.

"How about you spar with me?" Wu Tian said with a playful tone, his eyes gleaming.

Seeing this, Cao Tong's brow furrowed.

His gaze shifted between Chen Feng and Wu Tian.

It seemed these two weren't getting along?

Confusion rose, but no one responded.

Everyone watched the scene unfold, eventually seeing the slender young man grit his teeth, his face turning red as he reluctantly handed over his paper slip.

"Smart move, looks like you have more sense than some others," Wu Tian taunted, casting a glance toward Chen Feng.

His voice wasn't loud, but enough for many to hear.

Seeing Cao Tong's attempt to stop him, Wu Tian quickly approached and handed the slip to Chen Feng.

"Are you still going to avoid it?"

"Or are you planning to beg for mercy and admit defeat?"

His tone was playful, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.

Wu Tian assumed a posture of dominance, eagerly awaiting his opponent's reaction.

However, contrary to his expectations, Chen Feng remained expressionless and slightly raised his eyes.

"I've never understood your thinking."

"But now to me, it seems like... you just want to die."

The cold words stunned Wu Tian for a moment.

As the shock from those around them set in, his expression changed, and a cold murderous aura filled his eyes.

"This is bad."

Realizing the situation, Cao Tong thought quickly and rushed over, intending to stop the commotion.

Whoosh!

But Chen Feng moved faster.

With a swift motion, his hand shot out like a tiger's claw and grabbed Wu Tian by the neck.

Then, with a powerful pull, he slammed Wu Tian's head forward.

Boom!!!

A muffled sound echoed through the room.

Everyone saw as Chen Feng delivered a headbutt that made Wu Tian's eyes spin, his forehead turning red as he staggered back.

Before Wu Tian could even recover...

Bang!

Like a tiger pouncing from the mountain, Chen Feng stomped the ground and lunged forward with a punch.

Thud!!

The punch struck Wu Tian's jaw.

With an immense force, equivalent to a nearly 160 kg punch from an advanced amateur level.

Wu Tian had just recovered from the violent headbutt, barely stabilizing himself when another sharp pain shot through his left jaw.

His eyes rolled back, and his vision blurred.

Moments later, he staggered and collapsed to his knees, unable to control his body.
