Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: Cutting Off An Attachment I

"Just how many things are you doing at once that you are studying this much despite being sick?" Larissa wanted to pull that paper away from her.

But she knew when she did disrupt her, Harmony would surely study like this somewhere else. That is how she got to know Harmony over the past weeks that she interacted with her. It is better this way, Harmony should stay where Larissa can see her, at the very least, she can still watch over her.

"At least eat something and drink your medicine."

Larissa placed a bun filled with meat and a milk bottle before placing the medicine on the side table near Harmony.

"Thank you," Harmony replied without looking up from what she was studying.

This time, it is not what she wants. Nor does she desire to be sick while studying this, but this is something she has no choice but to study. She could only push her body to its limit despite remembering Gabriel's nagging antics.

She wanted to do what he told her but alas, she could not. Especially with everything that was coming up.

She took the bread and started eating it while drinking the milk.

Larissa sighed as she placed a glass of water.

'If my brother and his wife were to see you now, they would have stopped you instantly. Any parents should be doing it. Yet despite your words of having a close family, your actions are contradicting them.'

...

"Just as we thought."

Harmony moved back when a hand was suddenly placed on her forehead as she sat down, coming back for the first subject in the afternoon after the break. She thought she had returned barely making it in time but who would have thought that someone would still approach her despite the time?

"You are sick," Luca remarked.

Harmony moved back, "I've already drank some medicine. And rested enough. Once classes are over, I will go straight home. Is that good enough?"

Luca looked her in the eyes, seeing how clear they were, "I see. Then please do rest properly. You really would collapse if you keep that up."

Harmony nodded before looking down at her notebook, Luca decided not to push her anymore since that would only irritate her in the end. Gabriel looked at him, he did not hear what they talked about.

"She'd go straight home she said once classes are over. It doesn't seem like she wanted any of us to meddle with her plan."

Gabriel nodded, it still made one worry but if she was adamant there was nothing they could do.

Harmony kept her word of going straight home. Though she studied a bit more before going to sleep.

...

"Look how flush your face is," Luca was frowning as he looked at her.

She arrived a bit early but she did not expect that he would be there by the time she arrived. She wanted to brush him off like yesterday but it was a fact that her condition has indeed worsened.

"Come on, I'll accompany you to the clinic. Your temperature will only keep on rising if you don't take care of it," Luca insisted leaving Harmony with no choice but to follow.

As they walked along the hallway, she could feel the coldness even more. Luca noticed this and removed his coat placing it over her shoulder. Harmony did not have the energy to argue with him and it was indeed cold, so she did not bother and just thanked him.

"Luca! Right on time, we badly needed a bit of help, just for a few seconds please," suddenly one student approached them and asked Luca for help.

"Anna, uhmmm can we wait for that? I'll just accompany Miss Thomas to the clinic and come back," Luca replied.

The young lady held onto his arm, "Just for a few seconds, please. It really won't take long."

Luca sighed, "Okay."

"Wait for me here, this won't be long," he said to Harmony.

Harmony was about to say that she would just go ahead but Luca was pulled away by Anna before she could even say anything. All she could do now was wait.

But a few minutes later Luca did not return instead two other girls walked passed her carrying some drinks. These drinks were then poured over her head while one of them opened the window behind her.

"Oh sorry, we did not notice you there. After all, your presence had always been mediocre. You don't mind, right?" Harmony sighed and she felt even more tired.

"Oh my, because of your lack of presence, you even soiled Luca's coat. Tsk, you need to be more careful, how can you do that to a coat that was not even yours?"

As tired as she was she simply stared at them without emotions in her eyes. The two ladies who were openly mocking her suddenly felt like backing off after being stared at by those emotionless eyes. Harmony turned and left without uttering a single word or showing any kind of reaction.

After another two or so minutes, Luca came rushing to where he left Harmony.

He looked around when he didn't see her, "I told her to wait for me."

He walked towards the clinic and as he got to the door, it opened from inside.

"Miss Thoma-" Harmony walked past him as if not seeing him.

"Huh? Miss Thomas! Wait wha-"

"Mister Atkinson, please refrain from approaching me from now on."

Luca was completely stunned by her words. And the emotionless tone is close to being cold. As if she was speaking to a stranger she dislikes.

"I… I'm sorry. I don't understand what is going on."

"I have left your coat with Miss Larissa."

Harmony walked ahead but Luca once again stopped her.
