Chapter 9: Itadori Yuji
The oppressive air of cursed energy hung heavily as Akira followed Gojo into the dimly lit school building. He could already feel a slight headache forming, his body reacting to the malevolent aura that permeated the place.
"This is the real deal, huh?" Akira muttered, trying to suppress a shiver.
Gojo walked ahead nonchalantly, his hands in his pockets. "Oh, don't look so worried. This is just the beginning. You'll get used to it."
"I'd rather not have to," Akira grumbled.
As they turned a corner, they spotted someone—Fushigiro Megumi—standing in front of a destroyed building, injured, his usual grim expression deepened by tension. Beside him stood a half-naked boy Akira didn't recognize. It must be Itadori Yuji.
"Yo."
"Gojo-sensei," Megumi said, shocked, barely sparing Akira a glance before turning to Gojo.
Akira tried to stay as inconspicuous as possible, standing slightly behind Gojo. His luck was great and all, but he wasn't sure it would save him if something terrifying jumped out of the shadows.
"Where's the special grade object?" Gojo said, his tone lighthearted.
He gestured to Yuji. "And he?"
"He ate the finger!!!"
Gojo froze. "Seriously?"
"Yes, seriously."
Yuji scratched the back of his head, looking sheepish. "Yeah. I, uh… ate it."
Akira's jaw dropped. Bro, even if you are the protagonist, you can't just eat cursed objects like they're snacks! Who does that?
"Well, this is interesting. Looks like you guys are really combined."
"Let's test it, shall we?" Gojo flexed his muscles.
Gojo grinned. "Oii, let Sukuna out. I want to have a little chat."
"Hold on," Akira said, stepping back. "What do you mean, 'let Sukuna out'? Isn't that, you know, dangerous?"
At least let me go, he grumbled to himself.
"Don't worry, only 15 seconds is enough," Gojo said casually.
"I'm the strongest."
Akira wasn't reassured in the slightest, but before he could protest further, Gojo convinced Yuji to close his eyes.
The transformation was immediate. The cursed energy that had already been oppressive became suffocating, and when Yuji opened his eyes again, it wasn't him anymore.
Sukuna stretched, cracking his neck as a wicked grin spread across his face. "Ah, freedom," he said, his voice dripping with malice. His gaze swept over the group, pausing briefly on Megumi before locking onto Akira.
For a moment, the smirk faltered, replaced by a look of intrigue. "Interesting!!!" Sukuna muttered, his eyes narrowing.
Even if he couldn't see or feel it, his instincts told him there was something special about Akira that could threaten him.
At least in this moment, he felt weaker than the opposite party.
Akira felt a chill run down his spine as Sukuna observed him.
"Uh, Gojo-sensei? A little help here?"
Gojo stepped forward, his tone as cheerful as ever. "Alright, let's start."
Sukuna's grin returned. "Don't make me laugh."
"In every era, you guys are always in my way, Cursed Jujutsu Sorcerers." His voice was full of hatred and malice.
The fight began in a blur of movement. Gojo darted around Sukuna's attacks effortlessly, his playful grin never faltering. Akira could barely follow the action, his head spinning as the two powerhouses clashed.
"This is insane," Akira muttered to himself.
"Stay focused," Megumi said sharply, standing beside him.
"I'm trying!" Akira shot back. "But forgive me if I'm a little distracted by the literal King of Curses!"
After about ten seconds of combat, Gojo suddenly stopped, his grin widening. "Alright, Akira-kun. Your turn."
Akira blinked. "My what?"
"You heard me. Go on."
"No, never. This is a terrible idea!"
"It builds character!"
Before Akira could protest further, Gojo shoved him forward.
Akira activated Boundless Imperium, the air around him shifting unnaturally. The cursed energy around seemed to ripple, and for a moment, even Sukuna looked intrigued.
"Hmm. Not bad," Sukuna said.
To effectively activate his technique, Akira needed the right mindset, but his attempt to trap Sukuna failed.
Sukuna looked intrigued and confused for a moment but still attacked with Dismantle, a slashing wave of cursed energy that Akira barely managed to counter with an instinctive use of Limitless. The clash sent shockwaves around, and Akira stumbled back, his heart pounding.
If we compare the limitless technique of gojo and Akira ,the former is superior not because gojo mastered it fully but Akira uses 'Limitless' ,which is related to his own technique. So for him it's a sub technique that also means it has its own limitations.
Unlike Gojo ,Akira can't control effortlessly nor versatile as Gojo.It need a lot of brain power but Akira lacks Reversed Cursed Energy for that or else his brain will be fried.
As for whether he can use Limitless with Reversed Cursed Technique,it may or may not happen;who knows!.
"Shit, shit, shit," Akira ranted, but Sukuna didn't give him time to finish. Another attack came, this one breaking through his defenses and cutting deep into his side.
Akira cried out, falling to his knees. Blood pooled beneath him, and for a moment, he thought he was done for. But then, a familiar voice echoed in his head.
[System Alert: Congratulations for surviving against Sukuna.]
[Reward: Reverse Cursed Technique Unlocked.]
"Hahahah!" He laughed out loud, clearly angered and frustrated.
Positive energy flooded his body, and the pain began to fade. Akira looked down in awe as his wound healed itself.
"You've got to be kidding me," he muttered as he felt his mind clear.
He felt at peace.
Sukuna's laughter rang out. "You're full of surprises, brat."
Before Sukuna could press the attack again, Boundless Imperium activated again in full force, freezing him in place. Gojo seized the opportunity, delivering a powerful strike that sent Sukuna crashing into the wall.
"And now, 15 seconds are over!" Gojo announced.
The aftermath was a blur. Yuji regained control of his body, horrified by the destruction.
Turning to Akira, Gojo grinned. "So, should I congratulate you on learning Reverse Cursed Technique and Limitless? Or should I start charging royalties?"
Akira groaned, collapsing onto the floor. "I hate this world."
Akira slumped against the cold wall of the wrecked classroom, his breathing heavy. His newly healed side ached, and the faint hum of cursed energy still lingered in the air.
"Congratulations, Akira," Gojo said with a grin, crouching down beside him. "You survived your first fight with Sukuna! Not bad for a newbie."
"Not bad?" Akira shot back, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I almost died! He cut me open like a fish!"
Gojo waved dismissively. "Details, details. The important thing is that you're fine now. And hey, you even unlocked Reverse Cursed Technique! That's pretty advanced for someone like you."
Akira glared at him. "Someone like me? What if I had died?"
Before Akira could press further,
"What… happened?" Yuji muttered.
"Interesting, interesting, truly interesting."
"You can really control him?"
Gojo said cheerfully.
Yuji's face fell, his gaze darting to the destruction around them. "Did I… hurt anyone?"
"Not yet," Gojo replied, standing up. "But we can't take any chances. You're coming with us to Jujutsu High. Don't worry, we'll keep you under control."
Yuji looked confused but nodded reluctantly. "If it'll help… then okay."
"Then now it's time to sleep," Gojo casually knocked out Yuji.
Akira groaned as he forced himself to his feet. "Great. More people to babysit. Just what I needed."
Finally, Megumi couldn't take it anymore. "So, uh… who are you?"
Akira sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I'm Akira. Newbie. I guess you could call me this guy's, Gojo's student."
Megumi blinked. "Him?"
"Not by choice," Akira muttered.
"Hey!" Gojo called from ahead, clearly eavesdropping. "I'm a great teacher!"
"Sure you are," Akira said under his breath.
When they decided to return, Gojo turned to the group with a mischievous grin. "Alright, I've got an idea. Let's celebrate!"
"Celebrate what?" Akira asked, his tone wary.
"Your survival, of course!" Gojo replied.
"No thanks," Akira said flatly.
"Too late!" Gojo chirped, already pulling out his phone.
Akira couldn't shake the feeling that his life had just gotten infinitely more complicated. Between Sukuna's interest in him, Gojo's chaotic teaching methods, and the growing danger of cursed spirits, he knew one thing for sure:
He was royally screwed.
