Chapter 75 - "Guild Name"

Rat Calendar (Year 2026) - Adventure Outpost

On March 9th, at the Adventure Outpost, Accel, his father Thomas, and Lila returned to the Adventure Outpost Lounge to decide on a name for their guild. Thomas suggested "Dawnward Sentinels," meaning "Protectors who march toward the dawn." Lila proposed the name "Everbloom Oath," symbolizing "eternal growth and renewal." Lastly, Accel put forward the name "Aegis of Dawan," which means "A shield that guards the new day."

Each of the names suggested was not random; each has significant meanings that reflect the Guild's future. The three of them were deep in thought when Lila proposed, "Why not ask online? We could create a poll on Skytalk Online."

"Skytalk Online? What's that?" Accel asked, confused about the name and what it was. Thomas, however, was familiar with Skytalk Online.

"Accel, you don't know anything about Skytalk Online?" Thomas said.

Accel replied, "No, Father. I've been busy leveling up and managing my Archivist System. Isn't that the holographic magitech tool you use during your breaks?"

Accel watched, bewildered, as Lila tapped furiously on her sleek, palm-sized device. A shimmering, holographic display floated above it, a blur of colors and symbols he couldn't decipher. He'd never had any interest in these MagiTech gadgets.

"What are you doing?" he asked, more out of politeness than genuine curiosity.

"Just asking for a little help," Lila said, her eyes focused on the screen. "For work."

Accel nodded slowly, though he didn't understand. "Work?" He knew Lila was a good gardener system that has a connection with Alchemist Variations, but he hadn't realized her work involved... whatever this was.

Thomas, who had been peering at his own MagiTech phone (mostly for news, Accel assumed), glanced at Lila with a knowing smile. "Let me guess. Skytalk Online?"

Lila nodded, not looking up. "Just a quick poll. It'll help me decide something."

Accel took another bite of his fried mushroom snack, content to let them handle the technological side of things. He trusted Lila, and if she said it was for work, it was for work. He had more important things to think about, like the actual running of a guild.

After about an hour, Lila straightened up, a satisfied look on her face. "Okay," she announced, "the results are in!" She looked at Thomas, then at Accel. "And the winner, by a clear margin, is... Dawnward Sentinels!"

Thomas beamed. "See? I told you it was a good name! Classic, strong, dependable."

Accel, though he'd secretly preferred his own suggestion, had to admit it fit. "Alright," he said. "Dawnward Sentinels it is. Let's go register it."

The three of them headed back to the Guild Creation Lounge. The receptionist, looking as bored as ever, barely glanced up as they approached.

"We're ready to register our guild," Thomas announced.

The receptionist sighed, pulling out a form. "Guild name?"

"Dawnward Sentinels," Thomas said proudly.

"Guildmaster?"

"Thomas Winchester," he replied, handing over his newly-renewed Adventurer Card.

"Vice-Guildmaster?"

"Accel Winchester," Accel said, presenting his own card.

"Guild Secretary?"

"Lila Merritt," Lila said, doing the same.

The receptionist typed the information into her MagiTech terminal. After a few moments, she looked up at Accel. "And the founder?"

Accel hesitated. "We'd like to keep the founder's identity private, if possible."

The receptionist shrugged. "Not a problem. 'Hidden' it is."

She made the final entry and stamped the form. "Congratulations. You are now the officially recognized guild, Dawnward Sentinels. Here's your charter. Good luck."
