Goblins roaring...
"Is this really the end for me, huh?....."
5 years ago.... it was 5 years ago when the world has changed, gates started to appear and monsters comes out from the gates, humanity almost lost hope until a miracle happen, humanity achieved the power to protect the world and fight the monsters, that is when the humans starts to awaken, those human who awaken their superhuman powers are called awakened, most of the awakened people work as a hunter and eliminate monsters in the gate and that's my job, I'm Leu Lim, a hunter.
Hunters are divided by ranks, the strongest rank is S-rank followed by A-rank until the weakest rank E-rank, the rank are divided in 3 stages, the early rank, peak rank, and late rank, and unfortunately I'm currently at the weakest rank and weakest stage, the early E-rank, they said that those who rank like this is just a little bit stronger than normal people that's why going inside the gate to fight monster is suicide, but I've got no choice but to do this job because I need the money that can be made easily by raiding a gate, I need the money to keep my only family left, my sister to go on school.
That's why when someone invited me to join a raid team that's was going raid a D-rank gate I didn't hesitate to join, because D-rank gate gives more profit than E-rank gates that I've been risking my life to, now I've resolved myself to clear this gate and earn enough money to keep my sister studying at school.....But I made a mistake, now I'm going to die because of that mistake.
Weapons clashing
"Ugh.... why is there so many goblins in a D-rank gate, this number is atleast a hundred goblins." a hunter in a raid team says.
Leu: "Damn it how am I suppose to fight this many goblins?! an early E-rank like me will surely die in this situation" chuckling nervously.
A goblin charged at me and I was sent flying by the impact.
Leu: "Ughh.. ha haa, shit that hurt, huh?"
As I get up from the impact I realized that I was separated from the other hunters and was surrounded by goblins.
Leu: Laughs nervously "is this really the end for me, huh?"
The goblins charged at me and I was frozed in place because of fear and just waiting to die, until.... the goblins stop as if the time has freeze and a holographic screen appears in front of me saying "Do you want to become stronger" there's an options saying "Yes" and "No", as I was desperate and don't have any choice I just press the Yes button and another holographic screen appears saying "Congratulations! you have obtained the skill Gluttony: you can absorb the life force of deads to become your strength", I felt that something has changed in me then a holographic screen appears, "The system has detect dead bodies. Would you like to use Gluttony, Yes or No". I used Gluttony and absorbed the life force of the dead goblins, something like red smoke came out of their body and get inside of me, then I feel the power surging inside of me, my senses has become clearer and sharper and I can feel that I was stronger than before, another holographic screen appears saying "The time will be back to normal in 5,4,3,2...1". The goblins started to move again and charging at me but their movements is slow because of my enhanced senses, I then pick up my weapon and kill all the goblins thay was rushing at me.
Leu: shocked "ho..how did I kill those goblins? is this the power that I got?"
I was still shocked by how stronger I've become.
I saw that the other hunters are having a hard time dealing with the goblins so I rushed to help them and kill the goblins.
"Huh? how did you do that?" A hunter was shocked by how fast and strong I am for killing that goblin.
Leu: "Just focus on the battle, there still atleast 50 goblins" I get ready to charge at the goblins again.
I charged at the goblins, my speed is to fast for the goblins to follow, with a single slash of my knife their body is being torn. With the help of the other hunters we successfully eliminated all the remaining goblins, now there is only the boss room where the boss awaits.
"Let's rest for a bit before facing the boss" The leader of the raid team says
Leu: "I just need to take care of something" I said to others and went to corpse of the goblins.
There is almost 50 plus dead goblins in here and I activate the Gluttony to absorb their life force, unlike before I've absorbed so much more life force this time and I can feel my strength surpassing the strength of the other hunters here, even my senses become stronger that I can feel the presence of the boss in the boss room.

The leader decided to start fighting the boss. We pushed the door in the boss chamber and what we saw is a goblin that was far beyond stronger than what we fought before, it was Goblin King, a goblin that has the strength of atleast hundreds of goblins.
"Formation!!" The leader says.
We build the formation to fight the goblin king, we surrounded it but with I single swing of it's club almost half of our team has been knocked out.
Leu: "Get back!" I shout to them and I charged at the goblin king.
The goblin king swing his club to me and I dodged it without a problem then I slashed the goblin king's eyes blinding it.
Leu: "huff... okay attack" I order them to attack the goblin king, then we attack together defeating the goblin king.
"Finally!!" The hunters shouted from defeating the goblin king.
Leu: "Now this one" I look at the goblin king's body.
I approached the goblin king's body and use the skill Gluttony, I've absorbed the life force of the goblin king, it was very different than absorbing the life force of normal goblins even if there is a hundred of them. I can feel that my power has risen a lot because of absorbing the life force of the goblin king.
After that some items dropped from the goblin king and a notification appears in a holographic screen saying "would you like to store it in Inventory?" I then put it inside the inventory, as I see the items in the inventory I look at their description, it says "Blade of Despair", "Goblin King's Club", "Goblin King's tooth", and "Goblin King's ear.
Then we decided to leave the gate and get out of it, after getting out and successfully raiding the gate I finally get my pay for the raid, it was 50,000 pesos, I then say goodbye to the other hunters and make my way to our house.
I arrived at the front of an old apartment in the streets, that was our house, I then knocked.
Leu: "I'm home..."
