It was a beautiful diamond necklace!
Jean touched it and lowered her head to look at it, her face still showing no expression. Then she looked back at the handsome man whose name was Austin.
Her expressionless already conveyed all her questions, but she still didn't speak.
Austin smiled and tenderly kissed her forehead. "Jean, will you marry me?" he suddenly proposed, his voice extremely gentle and his gaze fixed unblinkingly on her.
The expressionless Jean looked at Austin, her beautiful eyes slightly wide with disbelief. She raised her hand, pointing at herself to confirm if he was really talking to her.
Austin smiled widely and took Jean's hands in his. "Yes, you... will you marry me? I promise to give you whatever you want in this world," he offered.
Jean returned to her emotionless state, staring at Austin without a single word or flicker of excitement on her face.
Hearing no reply from Jean after a long pause, Austin smiled warmly. "This necklace is for you, a gift from me to you. Don't give it to anyone, and don't allow anyone to steal it, okay?" He gently caressed her hair.
Jean didn't respond; she continued to look at him, silent and still like a beautiful doll. If anyone were to witness this scene, they might mistake her for a doll—she looked so captivating that it could evoke unwanted intentions from men.
"Sunny!" Austin suddenly called.
Sunny, who had been outside the car, immediately entered. He took another glance at Jean and found it difficult to accept that she was human; he stared in disbelief for a long moment. Now he noticed the glowing diamond necklace around her neck, and his expression froze instantly as he looked at Austin.
"Boss... the necklace..." Sunny stammered, unable to finish his statement before Austin shot him a deadly glare, causing the words to stick in his throat.
"To the Green Mansion," Austin instructed.
"Yes, Boss," Sunny replied, and they drove away.
...
It was very dark when a luxurious car arrived at a mansion, its view obscured as everything was dim and the lights were off.
Austin gentlemanly carried Jean horizontally out of the car and entered the mansion.
Sunny also exited the car, scratching his head in confusion. "Things are getting complicated! Who is this lady? Can a human be as beautiful as she is? No... that's not possible. But wait, could it be that... she's a female robot? JESUS! My boss is in love with a female robot! So my boss isn't in love with a human but prefers a robot instead! This is crazy. No wonder he's single all this time; it turns out that... that... that... but come to think of it, even if she is a robot, she's still a unique beauty, isn't she? I must say, my boss is just too good at everything, even at choosing a perfect 'wife'!" He was smiling foolishly, looking rather like a love-struck fool.
...
As Austin stepped inside, the lights suddenly turned on, illuminating the luxurious interior. A line of maids was on the left side, and a row of men in black suits stood on the right—all greeted him immediately with deep bows.
"Welcome back, Young Master!"
Austin didn't respond to them; he walked further in. The opulence of the beautiful living room came into view—a multi-trillionaire's living room, filled with the latest luxuries that could make a poor man wealthy in an instant.
Austin gently placed Jean in a king-sized luxurious golden-designed chair and knelt on one knee in front of her, stunning all the males and females present. They exchanged glances of shock, their expressions a mix of disbelief and admiration.
Jean remained expressionless, merely watching Austin emotionlessly without uttering a word.
Austin carefully removed Jean's shoes, which were tattered and worn, before setting them aside. He then stood up, put one of his hands in his pocket and glanced at the males and females who were still bowing.
His expression turned cold, sending a chilling air around him. "You in the middle!" he commanded.
There was a moment of stillness before a female stepped out from the row of women and immediately went on her knees.
"Young... Young Master," she stammered, her body trembling with fear.
Austin's gaze drifted away from the female and shifted to the others. "Remember, from this day forward, she is your mistress!" he declared.
The kneeling female raised her head in shock, her heart racing, her entire body shaking with excitement.
"Young Master wants to take me as his wife! Am I now the Young Madame?" she thought, her face lighting up with emotion.
"Young Master... I... I'm not yet prepared for this—this is all so sudden and overwhelming. I'm not ready at all," she stuttered, summoning all her courage to speak.
Austin's brows knitted together as he looked down at the female. "Oh," he remarked.
The female smiled beautifully and summoned all her courage; she even borrowed some extra courage from hell to look at Austin. "You... you suddenly want me to become... become the young mistress. I still have brothers and sisters here. If I were to suddenly become their madame, they would feel uncomfortable and... and they... they will have to start respecting me. Please give... give me some time to stay with them and... and think about your proposal," she stammered.
Jean remained expressionless, with no emotions showing in her eyes.
Austin's gaze grew colder. "Is that so?" he inquired.
The female's heart raced as she immediately lowered her eyes, her heartbeat quickening. "Must you be so intimidating when proposing to a lady? Why are you too serious?" she thought, biting her lower lip before nodding. "Even though you are cold, all you want is still me, isn't it?" she smiled.
Austin turned his attention to the others. "Tell me, how many of you are her brothers and sisters?" he asked.
"Huh! Is he planning to promote them? He loves me so much? Ah! Sonia! Sonia! You are just too lucky! I'm even promoting others unintentionally!" the female kneeling on the ground, whose name was Sonia, praised inwardly.
