I look at my equipment and nod my head—a pair of daggers, a med kit, and food rations. My first plan is to visit the training ground to train my body, but with my new innate talent, I don't need to do that.
In my previous life, I was a Spearman because the trainer taught me his technique. Now? Now, I will take the magic side of the class.
"Dive-In!"
A second later, I can see a portal appear in front of me. I step through the portal and smile a little at the safe zone I appear in. This place is called the Hub, where all kinds of beings can go. This is the place where the Gods from the Alternate Worlds lure all the races from the worlds they want to invade to check the level of the natives.
At the moment, only humans from Earth appear in this place. However, in the future, other races will appear one by one. At first, we thought they were friendly races, but we were wrong. They are the slaves the Alternate Gods use to lower our guard and weaken Earth's defense.
As much as I want to blame them, they are nothing but slaves who cannot do anything but obey their master.
I shake my head and look around. This is the safe zone if you are entering Alternate Worlds from New York City. This is not the best start for a beginner because of the high-level monsters roaming the land and the guild monopolizing the low-level dungeon in this area.
They will ask for a fee for any people who want to enter. The fee is one thousand dollars per run, but in return, they will carry you up to the boss' room. They will not defeat the boss because it will destroy the dungeon, but they will defeat all the monsters while you are in the party. Sadly, you will also not get any of the loot the monsters drop from this dungeon because they will take them all.
However, I don't mind all that. I want the Spirit energy, not the loot and EXP.
I snap from my thoughts when I see the system appear in front of me.
[Congratulations on entering the hunting ground! Choose your class!]
Classes are divided into three: Fighters, Rogue, and Mage. Each of the classes has sub-classes. Starting fighters have Swordman, Spearman, Brawler, and Guard. Starting Rogue has Thief, Archer, Scout, and Gunner. Starting Mage has a Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer, and Summoner.
There are special classes out there, but they are so rare; only twelve people get special classes and must reset their level to use that class.
In the Mage section, many people will pick Wizard and Sorcerer as their class. Wizard is the master of elemental attacks, while Sorcerer is the master of non-elemental attacks like poison and other negative effects. They are the biggest damage dealer in the Mage section.
A cleric is the healer and someone who the guild nurtures. A solo awakener who chooses a cleric will have a hard time because of their low damage output. They can take damage, but their attack is pathetic.
As for summoners… They are the most expensive to grow. They need a lot of Spirit Energy to feed their summoned creature and increase their spells. They have the biggest potential, but because of how energy-hungry the class is, only someone from a big family or big guild can have a powerful summoner.
Me? I don't have that problem.
I pick the class and see a book appear in front of me. I ignore the look of pity and scorn from the people around me as I take the starting weapon.
[Summoner Book] [★✩✩✩✩✩✩] [Refineable]
[A book all summoners start with. Not bad for the first timer]
{+3 INT}
All classes get a starter weapon, and you will get a magic book as a summoner. Just like any starting weapon, it is trash, but it is enough. When I pick the book, I can see another notification appear.
[As a Summoner, you can choose your specialization!]
[Spirit] [Beast] [Elemental] [Undead]
There are four specializations for a summoner. You can only choose one out of the four. A spirit summoner is someone who can summon ghosts and spirits. They are immune to physical damage but get triple the damage against magic. A beast summoner can summon creatures that have strong physical attacks, but they cannot use magic. An elemental summoner can summon an elemental that resists physical and magical attacks, but they will get triple the damage when hit by the opposite element. An undead summoner can summon an undead with good resistance against physical attack, but they will get triple damage from holy attack.
Out of the four, the Beast is the most popular because of their lack of weakness. Among the four, undead is the hardest to grow and the most hated specialization. They are weak in the early stage and require a lot of Spirit Energy to grow and evolve. The upside? They are powerful in the later stage. They are still weak against holy attacks, but that weakness will decrease.
The choice is obvious. I pick the undead as my specialization and see two new spells appear in my spell slots.
[Summon Undead] [Level: 1] [Unrefineable]
[Summon an undead that will accompany you through your journey]
[Undead slot: 0/1]
Summoning skills cannot be increased using Spirit Energy. It can only be increased by leveling up with a cap of seven. I can summon my creatures instantly and de-summon them at will.
[Bone Needle] [Level: 1] [Refineable]
[Cooldown: 2s] [MP Cost: 10]
[Summon a bone needle that can pierce someone's flesh]
[10 + (1*INT) Piercing Attack]
This is another reason why Undead Summoner is hard. They don't have enough damage output to compensate for their summons' weakness. However, I don't really care. It will grow the more I hunt.
With that being said, I walk to the east. It is time for me to get carried.

|3rd POV|
David yawns a little while waiting for his turn, taking the duckling through the dungeon. He is part of a guild called Black Stone Guild. They are a small-time guild that somehow manages to take over two dungeons in the Alternate Worlds.
They defend their territory vigorously and earn a lot of money from the newbie who wants to level up.
He snaps from his thoughts when he sees someone walking toward him.
"Stop. You need to pay before you enter the dungeon."
The man nods, takes out the money, and then gives it to him. David counts the money and says.
"Right. Follow me."
The man, Lucas, nods and follows David into the dungeon. He watches as the man takes out his spear, and when they see the monsters, David dashes forward with his spear in hand. Lucas pushes down the urge to lecture the man in front of him for his horrendous form and fighting style.
The monsters that appear in this dungeon are regular Goblins. They are weak monsters, but they are tricky because of their number and great coordination with each other. With enough experience and proper fighting form, you can easily defeat them without getting hit too much.
However, David gets hit a lot by the goblins, and Lucas even needs to kill two of them by himself because David has tunnel vision. Even with this horrible performance, David dares to give him a smug smile at the end of the journey.
"What do you think? This is the power of a level seventeen spearman. Awesome, right? If you have more spare change, you can come to us so you can level up."
Lucas only gives him a small smile and says.
"Of course, sir."
After the two of them leave the dungeon, Lucas rents a room in one of the hotels in the Alternate Worlds that one of the guilds manages. He opens his stats and smiles.
[Spirit Energy: 12,730]
It is time for him to summon his first summoned creature.
