Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Karl stretched his arms and yawned. The mall was getting more crowded, and with the tutorial complete, he had no reason to stick around.

"Alright, time to head home."

He pocketed his phone and navigated through the throngs of shoppers, avoiding excited teenagers and slow-walking families. A few minutes later, he stepped onto the escalator and made his way to the exit.

Outside, the city buzzed with life. The cool evening air was a welcome contrast to the stuffy mall. Karl slipped his hands into his pockets and walked toward the station, blending into the sea of pedestrians.

After a short train ride and an even shorter walk, he finally reached his apartment—a cramped studio with barely enough room for a bed, a desk, and a tiny kitchenette.

Dropping his bag on the floor, he flopped onto his chair, pulled out his phone, and stared at the notification.

[New Update Available: Install Now?]

[YES] [LATER]

---

Karl cracked his neck and smirked. "Let's see what's new."

He tapped [YES].

The screen dimmed for a moment before a loading bar appeared. A few seconds later, a new pop-up emerged.

---

[Update Complete!]

Timer controls improved: You no need to type the duration manually. Start and Stop buttons have been added.

Uncommon Assistant now available.

Minor bug fixes.

---

Karl raised an eyebrow. "Uncommon Assistant?"

A new option appeared on the app's main screen. He tapped it, revealing a setup prompt.

---

[Choose Your Assistant's Voice]

Female

Male

---

Karl didn't even hesitate. He selected [Female].

The screen flickered, and a notification chimed.

---

[Uncommon Assistant Activated!]

[Audio Function Enabled.]

---

Before he could react, a voice spoke from his phone, rich with personality and rhythm.

"Yo, yo, yo! You just unlocked the Uncommon Assistant, baby! Let's get this party started!"

Karl blinked. He wasn't expecting that.

The assistant kept talking. "I gotchu, boss. You need help? You wanna tweak some common sense? Just holler at me. We gonna make the world bow to your smooth brain moves, ya feel me?"

Karl snorted. "Holy crap. This is... something."

He leaned back, listening as the assistant kept rolling with its high-energy delivery. After a few seconds, he grinned.

"Good thing I picked a female voice. If I'd gone with a dude, this might've turned into a full-blown battle rap."

The assistant chuckled. "Oh, you tryna throw down? We can freestyle any time, boss! But if you just need a smooth ride, I got the flow to keep it cool."

Karl exhaled through his nose, amused. He had no idea how useful this assistant would be, but at the very least, it was entertaining.

He tapped the screen, curious about its features.

"Alright, Uncommon Assistant, let's see what you can really do."
