Chapter 108: Come Back, I Need You

Liang Xiaoluo listened intently to the doctor's words, finally letting out a deep sigh of relief when she heard the prognosis.

He was going to be okay!

"Thank you, Doctor!" Elder Ye said, his gratitude evident.

To Elder Ye, any doctor who saved his grandson's life was a benefactor.

Ye Tianlin was moved to a VIP hospital suite equipped with the best facilities, more like a luxury hotel room than a medical space.

Liang Xiaoluo started to follow the gurney into the room, but Gu Lingzi blocked her path.

Liang Xiaoluo raised her head to meet Gu Lingzi's scornful gaze.

"Have you not done enough harm to Brother Tianlin?" Gu Lingzi sneered, seizing the opportunity to lash out at her.

Liang Xiaoluo's heart sank, her guilt stabbing at her like daggers. Gu Lingzi's words hit too close to home.

She was right. This was her fault. Ye Tianlin had been injured because of her.

Her already lifeless eyes darkened even further.

"Leave. Don't ever appear before Brother Tianlin again," Gu Lingzi continued, twisting the knife deeper.

Liang Xiaoluo lowered her head but didn't move. She wanted to stay, to see him wake up—then she would leave forever.

When Gu Lingzi saw that Liang Xiaoluo refused to leave, she sneered before slamming the door in her face.

Liang Xiaoluo stood motionless outside, as still as a statue. Silo, watching from nearby, couldn't stand it any longer.

"Savage woman," he muttered under his breath.

"I'll take you inside," Silo said, reaching for her hand.

Liang Xiaoluo gently pulled away. "It's fine. I'll wait here," she said softly.

"Xiaoluo!" Silo's heart ached at the sight of her despondency.

"I'll wait here until he wakes up," she insisted, her voice resolute. She raised her eyes to meet his, gratitude shining through her despair. "Silo, thank you. Thank you for helping me save him."

Silo froze. Her words wrapped around his heart like a vise, suffocating him.

What was this feeling? Why did it hurt so much?

With a resigned sigh, Silo stayed with her. They waited in a quiet corner, unnoticed by the constant flow of people passing through the hospital.

As the night deepened, the hospital grew eerily silent. The dimly lit hallways carried an unsettling chill, the kind that crawled up one's spine.

"Xiaoluo, let me take you home to rest. He won't wake up anytime soon," Silo urged. He worried that her exhaustion, compounded by her recent trauma, would take a toll on her already fragile body.

Liang Xiaoluo shook her head. "I want to stay until he wakes up."

Knowing she wouldn't budge, Silo relented. "Fine. I'll go buy you something to eat. Stay here, and I'll be right back."

She nodded, and he left.

The long hallway stretched endlessly, the silence amplifying every sound. Liang Xiaoluo could hear her own breathing and the rhythmic thud of her heart.

Tianlin, wake up soon.

She prayed silently, her thoughts consumed by him. Lost in her musings, she barely noticed when a figure passed by—a doctor in a white coat, half his face obscured by a mask.

Probably here for rounds, she thought, dismissing him. But as her eyes followed his retreating figure, she realized something about him seemed familiar. Her spine tingled with unease.

Her instincts screamed that something was wrong.

She shot to her feet and hurried toward Ye Tianlin's room, her heart pounding.

Inside the room, the masked man held a syringe, its needle poised above Ye Tianlin's hand.

"Who are you? What are you doing?" Liang Xiaoluo shouted, her voice trembling with both fear and determination.

The man turned to her, his eyes gleaming with mockery. His voice was low and raspy as he said, "Xiaoluo, it seems you've fallen for him."

Her heart skipped a beat. "You… you know me?"

The man's words—and those familiar eyes—stirred a vague recognition within her. But who was he?

He smirked beneath his mask. "You still don't remember, do you? Still suffering from amnesia? That's… disappointing."

His voice carried an undercurrent of bitterness. He wanted her to remember. To remember her sister, Liang Xiaomu—the woman he had loved.

"What are you talking about?" Liang Xiaoluo clutched her head as a sudden, splitting pain shot through it. The word "past" reverberated in her mind, tearing at her consciousness like claws.

The man's lips curled into a sinister smile. "Looks like we'll need a different game."

"What are you planning?" Liang Xiaoluo demanded, her eyes widening in horror.

Without a word, he plunged the syringe into Ye Tianlin's hand, injecting the liquid into his veins.

"No! Stop!" Liang Xiaoluo screamed, rushing forward to stop him. She clawed at his arm, hitting him with all her strength. "What did you inject him with? Let him go!"

With a flick of his arm, he sent her sprawling to the ground.

By the time she scrambled back to her feet, the syringe was empty. The man loomed over her, his tone dripping with derision. "Xiaoluo, you'd better toughen up. Otherwise, how will you survive my games?"

Her body trembled violently. His words were chilling, his presence oppressive. Who was he? Why was he doing this?

The man sneered. "When he finds out what I've done, how will your precious lover react?" With that, he disappeared into the shadows.

Silo returned to find the hospital room door ajar. A bad feeling churned in his gut as he rushed inside. The scene before him was chaos—Ye Tianlin's unconscious body, a maid knocked out on the floor, and Liang Xiaoluo leaning over Ye Tianlin, whispering, "Tianlin, wake up. Please wake up…"

"Xiaoluo, what happened?" Silo asked, alarmed.

She looked up at him, her face pale and tear-streaked. "Is Tianlin dead? Is he gone?"

Silo glanced at the monitors. Everything appeared normal—his heart rate, his vitals. He let out a sigh of relief. "No, he's alive. He's fine."

Liang Xiaoluo's tears stopped abruptly. "Really? He's okay?"

"See for yourself," Silo said, pointing to the machines.

She turned to look, her eyes brimming with relief. "Thank goodness. Thank goodness…"

"What happened here?" Silo pressed, his gaze sweeping the room. His eyes landed on the syringe on the floor. "Who was here?"

"I don't know who he was," Liang Xiaoluo stammered, her voice shaky. "He injected something into Tianlin… I tried to stop him…"

Her words tumbled out in disarray. The man's identity remained a mystery, but his actions and familiarity unsettled her deeply.

Whoever he was, he had left a shadow of fear and uncertainty in his wake.

Before they could discuss further, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway.

"Tianlin! Tianlin!" Elder Ye's voice boomed, heralding the arrival of the Ye family.
