Chapter 103: Woman, Don't Run
Ye Tianlin was the most shameless, despicable devil in the world!
Liang Xiaoluo had known this for a long time.
One day, she vowed, this man would pay the price for everything he had done to her.
Her teeth clenched in anger as silent tears streamed down her face.
Ye Tianlin's deep voice lingered by her ear, hoarse and low, "Why do you keep running away from me? Don't you know that I love you?"
Liang Xiaoluo froze, a cold sneer rising from within. It finally escaped her lips as a mocking laugh, "Ha!"
Ye Tianlin stiffened, looking up at her in confusion. Her reaction was far from what he had expected.
"Liang Xiaoluo!" he roared, anger boiling in his chest.
Did she have any idea how hard it was to find her? He had practically turned the entire city of Mengchuan upside down.
"And why do you always play the victim after hurting me so deeply? How can you stand there and question me like that?" Liang Xiaoluo shot back coldly.
Why did he always act like he was in the right, as if she were the one at fault?
Ye Tianlin was stunned, trying to decipher her words. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't figure it out.
"Liang Xiaoluo, explain yourself!" he demanded, his voice rising in frustration.
Liang Xiaoluo looked at his clueless expression and grabbed his hand, placing it on her abdomen.
"Liang Xiaoluo, do you know what you're doing?"
Ignoring his shock, she guided his hand across her flat stomach, moving it back and forth. "Can't you feel it? It's gone."
Ye Tianlin froze, realization dawning on him. He carefully pressed against her abdomen, his expression darkening. The slight curve that had been there days ago was now gone, replaced by a flat expanse.
"Your stomach…" Ye Tianlin's voice trembled as he looked at her, disbelief written all over his face.
"Yes, it's gone!" Liang Xiaoluo's tone was calm, but her words were like daggers.
Their child was gone, taken by his cruelty and indifference.
Ye Tianlin clenched his fists, his first instinct to blame her. "Liang Xiaoluo, did you abort the baby?"
Liang Xiaoluo laughed bitterly, entirely unsurprised that he would pin all the blame on her. Her icy gaze showed no intention of explaining. "Sure, think whatever you like. Yes, I got rid of it. Are you satisfied now? Without this child, we have nothing binding us together."
Ye Tianlin's fists tightened further. "Liang Xiaoluo, don't even think about leaving me. You'll pay for aborting the baby."
Her face remained cold, devoid of emotion. At this moment, he resembled an enraged lion, ready to tear her apart.
In the next instant, as if it were inevitable, his lips crashed onto hers.
Ye Tianlin's kiss grew increasingly domineering, devouring her completely.
He wanted her.
Hearing Liang Xiaoluo say the child was gone, all of Ye Tianlin's restraint evaporated. Rage erupted within him, and he sought to punish her ruthlessly.
He pulled her tightly into his arms.
"Mmph…" Liang Xiaoluo writhed like a trapped snake, her face flushed a deep red.
Ye Tianlin frowned slightly, gripping her chin with one hand. His playful eyes turned sinister as he growled, "Liang Xiaoluo, you brought this on yourself…"
"Ah…" Liang Xiaoluo gasped as his touch sent a jolt through her.
"Liang Xiaoluo, Liang Xiaoluo!" Ye Tianlin murmured her name, his voice filled with an eerie intensity. His eyes gleamed with a predatory green light.
"No matter how much you force me, I will never bow to you again," Liang Xiaoluo spat, her voice trembling with despair. Her hollow gaze pierced him. "I hate you. I will always hate you."
Ye Tianlin paused, her words cutting deep. For a moment, his dark eyes locked onto hers, unmoving.
"You brought this upon yourself," he snarled.
His expression shifted, a chilling brightness lighting up his gaze.
The sounds of their struggle echoed through the room, breaking the oppressive silence.
Outside the door, Silo stood motionless, his feet itching to barge in and put an end to it.
But in the end, he suppressed his sense of justice, holding himself back.
This woman had nothing to do with him. She couldn't. Otherwise, as Ryan had warned, he would face endless trouble.
Still, guilt gnawed at him. The look of betrayal and despair in Liang Xiaoluo's eyes when she saw Ye Tianlin made his heart ache with regret.
Perhaps he had made a mistake. Perhaps he shouldn't have listened to Ryan, shouldn't have gone against his conscience.
After all, he was just another forgotten soul, abandoned here. Whoever he associated with shouldn't matter—it wasn't like anyone cared.
Time passed—how much, Silo couldn't say.
The door opened, and Ye Tianlin emerged, his face twisted into a mocking smile.
"It's been a while, my friend, Silo!" His tone dripped with sarcasm.
Silo's gaze drifted past Ye Tianlin to the space beyond the door, searching for any sign of Liang Xiaoluo.
Ye Tianlin noticed, his mocking tone growing sharper. "Silo, after all these years, you've surprised me. I didn't think you had a taste for coveting a friend's wife."
Silo understood the jab and matched Ye Tianlin's tone. "Friend? Since when were we friends?"
Once, as children, they had been inseparable, willing to risk everything for each other.
But that bond had shattered the day Ye Tianlin learned Silo was the king's illegitimate son. It had crumbled into nothing, a speck of dust in the air, insignificant and invisible.
Silo couldn't forget Ye Tianlin's cruelty, the way he had wounded him with venomous words.
"Silence!" Ye Tianlin's face paled with fury, his clenched fists trembling with rage.
"Don't worry, I have no interest in your woman. If I did, I wouldn't have told you she was here." Silo's voice was calm, his temper long since tempered by years of restraint.
He had no desire to clash with Ye Tianlin, no intention of lowering himself to the same level. He didn't want to give his brother, who monitored his every move, any reason to think he had disgraced the royal family.
Ye Tianlin's mocking smile didn't fade. "Don't rush to defend yourself. I'll investigate this thoroughly. Whether you detained her out of selfish motives or something else, you'll be hearing from my lawyer soon enough."
Silo didn't react. Ye Tianlin hadn't changed—still self-centered, twisting facts to suit himself, never listening to reason.
Even Ryan, standing nearby, couldn't hold back any longer, ready to defend Silo.
But Silo raised a hand, stopping Ryan. "Say whatever you want about me. I'll tell you this, though." He paused, his tone steady. "You'd better protect her. Otherwise, you might not be so lucky to see her again next time."
With that, he turned to leave.
Ye Tianlin lunged forward, grabbing Silo by the collar. "What do you mean by that? Explain yourself!"
Silo shook him off, his cold eyes meeting Ye Tianlin's. "Don't tell me you still think she lost the baby on purpose."
Ye Tianlin didn't respond.
But Silo saw the truth in his eyes. "Or do you think she got rid of it herself?"
Ye Tianlin's pupils contracted.
Silo's lips curled into a cold smile. "Your ignorance never ceases to amaze me."
Pushing past Ye Tianlin, he walked away, refusing to lower himself to argue further.
After Silo's departure, Ryan sighed. How had two such close friends become this?
"Master Tianlin, don't blame Prince Silo," Ryan said weakly, his attempts at explanation feeling futile.
Ye Tianlin remained silent.
Ryan continued, "Prince Silo goes for a morning walk every day. That day, while it was still dim outside, he saw three men carrying a woman, trying to throw her into the river. If Prince Silo hadn't jumped in to save her, Miss Xiaoluo wouldn't have survived, let alone the baby."
