Grak, Jack and Jaz stood on the battlefield, their eyes locked in a deadly triangle. Each knew the next exchange could be the last - and none of them intended to fall.
Jack was the first to move. His body blurred as he dashed forward, a streak of blue energy trailing in his wake. "Let's finish this !" he roared, his voice cutting through the storm of adrenaline.
But Grak was faster. In the blink of an eye, his hulking frame vanished from sight. Jack's eyes widened in horror as he realized Grak's true target.
"Jaz!" Jack's voice tore through the air, but it was too late. Grak appears behind Jaz, his hand , a massive claw reaching for her. His fingers were inches away from her neck.
Jaz's instincts screamed, her body reacted before her mind could catch up. She ducked low, narrowly dodging his lethal grasp. "Urk !" twisting her body into graceful spin, her leg shot upward, delivering a bone-shattering kick to Grak's chin.
Grak's head snapped back, but his body stood firm - unfazed.
THWACK !
Before Jaz could react, Jack appeared beside her in a blur of motion. his knee already on a collision course with Grak's jaw. "TAKE THIIISSS !" Jack's knee connected with a sickening crack, the sheer force sending Grak sprawling to the ground, dirt and debris exploding in all directions.
As Grak tumbled across the battlefield, the earth beneath him tore open, his massive frame carving furrows into the ground. Yet, as he rose to his feet, a twisted grin tugged at his lips. "Impressive...!" he hissed, his voice dripped with malice. The wounds they'd inflicted knitting themselves back together in mere seconds. "But not enough."
With a speed that defied his size, Grak disappeared again. Jack barely had time to blink before Grak reappeared - this time right in front of him.
SMASH !
Before Jack could defend himself, Grak's first buried itself deep into his gut. The force was unimaginable - Jack's entire body contorted from the blow, the air exploding from his lungs in a chocked gasp. His vision blurred as pain shot through every nerve in his body.
"JACK !!" Jaz screamed, watching in horror as her comrade's body went limp for a brief, terrifying moment. Grak's fist, still logged in Jack's stomach, pulsed with a burning red aura, ready to deliver the killing blow.
But Jack wasn't finished.
Summoning every ounce of willpower, Jack's hand shot up, grabbing Grak's arm with an iron grip. Not....not yet ! he rasped, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. With a roar of defiance, Jack drove his heel into Grak's face, the impact momentarily stunning the brute.
As Grak reeled, blinded by the attack, Jack shot glanced at Jaz, Their eyes met, a silent understanding passed between them. It's now or never
"You're not getting away!" Grak roared, crimson energy exploding from his body as he lashed out with another devastating punch. Jack barely had time to brace himself as the blow connected, sending him flying across the battlefield. He crashed into the cliffside with the force of falling meteor, the stone shattering around him.
But Grak, his razor-sharp senses, felt something. His predatory instincts screamed at him. He spun around, eyes narrowing on Jaz.
The air around her shimmered with deadly energy. Her sword, pulsing with a dark red aura, seemed to hum with life. Jaz's face was calm, her breathing steady as she centered herself. The blade burned with power as she prepared her technique.
"I've been waiting for this" Jaz muttered, her voice low but filled with resolve. Her sword flashed, its aura intensifying, transforming the air around her.
"Soul-flame Cut"
SWING!
Grak's eyes widened in realization. The moment Jaz swung her sword, the very atmosphere seemed to ripple as if the world itself was reacting to her attack.
A crimson arc tore through the air, aimed straight for Grak's chest. He could feel it - not just the blade, but the very essence of the attack. It wasn't just physical. It was cutting into his soul.
"Uugh !" Grak summoning every ounce of his aura in a desperate attempt to defend. A crimson shield of energy flared to life around him, but deep down, he knew it wouldn't be enough. In a last-ditch effort, he twisted his body, trying to dodge.
But he wasn't fast enough.
The Soul-flame Cut searing through Grak's aura as if it didn't exist. With a sickening slash, the blade cut through his arm, severing it completely. Blood sprayed across the battlefield as Grak staggered back, his eyes wide with shock.
An agonizing pain - shot through Grak's body. He stared at the stump where his arm had been, his breath coming in ragged gasps as his body struggled to heal. Even his incredible regeneration faltered against the lingering effects of the Soul-flame Cut.
"You..." Grak's voice trembled, his eyes locking onto Jaz with a mixture of fury and newfound respect. He took a step forward, his crimson aura flickering like a dying flame. "You think... this is over?"
Jaz, breathing heavily, lowered her sword, her eyes locked onto Grak's. "You're not as invincible as you think."
A dark smile twisted Grak's lips. "Perhaps not... but this isn't even close to my limit." He growled, crimson energy flaring to life around him once more, even stronger than before.
As his bloodlust surged, Grak's power shook the battlefield. "You've made this interesting, but let me show you what real power looks like!"
Jack, battered and bloodied, staggered to his feet, watching in disbelief as the air around him vibrating with sheer malevolence. "Damn it... he's still getting stronger." Jack muttered, gritting his teeth.
Jaz, tightening her grip on her sword, locked eyes with Jack. "We can't back down now."
Grak's laugh echoed through the battlefield, deep and menacing. "You've earned it, The honour...of seeing it!!" his voice filled with savage excitement.
