2 hours had passed, after the group along with Sendo sailed in the extremely cramped ship. Despite the ship being intended for only 50 people, the eager crowd of 100 military personnel, members of the VHC, and even a small group of broke college students who had done military training for a couple years, carrying around rifles and other firearms they bought. Everyone made it to the island, with the island looking quite normal.
"That was not smooth sailing, I threw up like 6 times into the ocean on the way here!" Sakonori complained as she made a queasy expression. "I find it odd, this island looks totally normal, yet why would a person of "high power" reside here?" Sendo asked Akemi as he was scratching his head. Akemi then took out her phone then read an article from Kaito, before she read out loud, "The 8th cataclysm, Roland Saeonius, is the weakest of the past 10, with the only thing known about him is his intellect."
Another uproar from the crowd erupted shortly after she read the information out loud, followed up with people confidently yelling out, "Ha! It's just some smart guy, this is easy!" Then they all started rallying about asking Akemi where the laboratory is located on the island, and she responded with, "It's 3 minutes away from her-" She was interrupted as everyone started sprinting further into the island.
"I mean, 400 million equally distributed, so that's basically like 4 million per person." Akemi sighed before she started walking further in, but she also looked at the group with Sendo who reluctantly followed. Juliet, who was hiding under the shade followed them, with Sendo noticing and asking why she was in the shade, with her shortly answering with "I don't like it when it's hot."
Meanwhile, a group of 5 soldiers found the laboratory, and saw an open entrance. They cautiously stepped into the lab, they looked around, holding their firearms up, and preparing to fire at any threat, the only sound lingering in the air was the sound of shattered glass vials, or even dried up bones, with one of the soldiers kicking a dried up skull of a person of unknown gender. They slowly started realizing something, there was a horrid, disgusting stench that is unmistakingly from rotting corpses and the metallic scent of blood.
"It smells disgusting!" Gagged a soldier who was desperately putting a scarf around their face. The sound of dripping water from a busted water pipe on the ceiling, then one of them saw a glimpse of a woman peeking at them from the distance hiding behind a sharp turn. "You there!" A soldier ordered as they pointed a rifle, but the woman ran, with them chasing her in pursuit.
"Damn it! We lost her!" A soldier who wore a camouflage suit cursed, before one of them pointed out how it could be a survivor or victim. After the failed pursuit, they realized they were completely lost, but the more they explored the lab, the stronger the scent of blood and decaying corpses became, with one of them even vomiting. "I can't, this smell, it's horrid!" A soldier pleaded.
"God..what is this?" The leader of the squad said, holding a sheet of paper he scavenged from a set of folders. The soldiers surrounded the leader, equally looking horrified. The sheet of paper was hand written, the only thing the soldiers made out of the constant smudge marks was the term "drug." Then underneath the description read, "Subject fortunate enough for mercy at the request of Yurina."
"Was Yurina the woman we saw?" A soldier asked the rest, with some of them lost in thought, then one of them saw a lever with a poorly taped sticky note above it that had a large streak of blood over it but was able to make out, "Open door." And from sheer curiosity, the soldier grabbed the lever and pulled it down. Immediately after that, a weird abomination of human flesh with long blonde hair frantically tackled a soldier through a steel door, screaming in undecipherable words, then it followed up by savagely tearing the panicking soldier, killing him. The rest of the group fired at the abomination, to no avail as one by one the abomination of human flesh ripped and tore through the soldiers, even if the soldier was wearing protection.
One of the soldiers took out a grenade and tried to sacrifice himself only for the grenade to be useless as the shrapnel ended up exploding too quickly and killing the last soldier in the process. A single soldier survived, with the abdomen being torn open, and he was barely clinging onto life as he saw the abomination run away leaving behind a trail of blood.
