The S&T course training method is rather unique, requiring new recruits to adapt to various simulated scenarios, with no single correct way to handle each situation.
To ensure the quality of each training session, it needs to be led by the special instructor Adam himself.
Other lower-level instructors are not qualified to grade.
Since Instructor Adam can't clone himself, it means that only one recruit can train at a time, and it's impossible to have all new recruits participate at once.
As a result, the training mode for the new recruit team has changed accordingly.
Instead of the first stage, where the entire unit trained together, it was split into two squads of 15 people each, engaging in different training exercises.
For instance, one squad would conduct PT training in the morning, while the other would undergo the S&T course.
In the afternoon, they would switch.
Having already passed the more difficult PLT testing system, the new recruits didn't take the relatively simpler PT training too seriously, treating it more as a way to maintain fitness.
Including Long Zhan and the others, all the new recruits were even more curious about the newly introduced S&T course.
This curiosity wasn't about not understanding the S&T course; after all, the recruits were all official Navy SEALs, and this training was part of their basic curriculum—something they were already well-acquainted with.
Rather, they were curious about what kind of new variations the Green Team's S&T course would bring, given that they were elite Navy SEALs.
The special training instructor divided the remaining 30 recruits into two teams. Long Zhan and Kle were placed in a temporary first squad, which would first attend the Green Team's initial S&T course and was led to the indoor close-quarters battle (CQB) training center.
In the Green Team, this was known as the "House of Slaughter!"
The S&T course itself was a type of CQB, so Long Zhan wasn't surprised to find himself here.
The Green Team's CQB training center was large, covering more than a thousand square meters. The structure resembled the dormitory area, consisting of large warehouse-like buildings.
The space inside was divided into two independent training rooms.
On the left, it was made of stacked railway ties, with several long corridors and various obstacles. On either side of the corridor were square houses, and overhead lights suspended by barbed wire provided the only illumination.
The training room had no roof, only several elevated walkways from which every corner could be viewed below.
It was clear that this simulated the interior of a residential building, designed for indoor special operations training, specifically for the large-scale CQB (close-quarters battle).
The elevated walkways offered an excellent vantage point, serving as areas for instructors and assistant trainers, allowing them to observe the recruits' training closely.
The right side of the training area also had elevated walkways, but the setup below was entirely different.
All the training facilities, including walls, were mounted on movable wheels, allowing for rapid scene reconfigurations.
Meeting rooms, offices, bathrooms, bedrooms…
Nothing was impossible!
With specific training needs, the setup could even easily create a ballroom scene or a core base of a terrorist organization.
This reconfigurable training room would serve as the site for Long Zhan and the other recruits' S&T training sessions over the next month, where they would practice and be evaluated in different scenarios, testing their ability to adapt to various situations.
"Only the Green Team of DEVGRU can afford such indulgence with their money."
A training room that can be quickly reconfigured is incredibly expensive. Long Zhan, seeing it for the first time, couldn't help but marvel inwardly.
The Green Team's training pace was very fast, and since the recruits weren't complete rookies, they knew exactly what to expect from the S&T course!
Instructor Adam didn't waste time on unnecessary words. As soon as the recruits arrived, he began organizing them, and under the guidance of the instructors, they started collecting their training weapons.
The armorer had already prepared, opening the nearby weapons locker. The recruits queued to collect their gear.
The weapons used in the Green Team's S&T course were M4A1 rifles, custom-made by the weapon contractor Daniel Defense, equipped with a UTM (Universal Training Munitions) conversion kit.
The standard firing pin was in the center, while the pin for the UTM conversion kit was located at the left edge.
This misalignment meant that if a regular bullet were loaded, it couldn't be fired because the primer would no longer align properly with the firing pin.
This design prevents the accidental loading of real ammunition, reducing the risk of unwanted incidents during training.
The ammunition for this conversion kit had the primer located on the edge of the base, marked with the letters "GD," and the bullet tips were painted blue for easy identification.
Long Zhan had used this type of ammunition before in the Navy SEALs, so he knew exactly where it came from.
It was produced by another weapons contractor, General Dynamics, specifically designed to work with the UTM conversion kit for SEAL training.
Each weapon came with a single magazine, which was all they needed for today's training.
There were no infrared night vision goggles, no laser pointer systems, nor tactical flashlights. Long Zhan could tell from this that today's training wouldn't involve nighttime operations.
Once all the recruits had collected their weapons, they rested in the open area outside the armory, waiting for the signal to enter the training room one by one.
Perhaps they were eager to see if Long Zhan, the only T0-level recruit, was just a big, goofy guy or if he possessed the kind of intellect that comes with being a big guy.
The special training instructor, Adam, was the first to call out Long Zhan's name, who stood out clearly in the lineup.
"Am I the first one? Nice."
Long Zhan, accustomed to being first, wasn't fazed by the fact that he was the first to enter. Instead, he became more excited, his eyes shining with anticipation.
The training room was concealed by movable walls, so no one outside could see what was going on inside, nor could they know what scenario was being set up.
Long Zhan, imagining what kind of daytime combat situation might unfold, entered the training room alone under the guidance of the instructors.
From the elevated walkway, Instructor Adam and the two accompanying instructors immediately focused their attention on Long Zhan as he entered.
