Soo-jin's consciousness flickered in and out of the world existence. Darkness consumed her every single sense, an all, encompassing void that swallowed her entire being and soul.
The pain from her fall from the penthouse top, the betrayal from Tae-hyun and Ji-yoon, it all seemed so distant, but her anger? That was still there.
A wildfire that burned within her chest, stronger than ever, stronger than any other single think anyone could imagine or think about.
She struggled to open her eyes, but there was nothing to see in this place, only the heavy weight of a suffocating silence. It was as if time itself had stopped. Her mind was consumed with a need for justice, the desire for revenge gnawing at her soul.
"Why?" she whispered into the emptiness, her voice trembling with the pain of everything she'd lost.
"Why did they do this to me? Why did they betray me?"
No answer came. Not at first. But then, just as she thought she might be swallowed entirely by the void, she felt a presence.
A soft light, faint yet undeniable, pierced the thick darkness. It began as a little bright light, and then it expanded into a figure they could blind the eye of any man.
At first, she couldn't make out its own form, but the energy around it pulsed with a power so ancient that her heart raced in immediate response.
The figure immediately took a quick re-shape, revealing an ethereal being, glowing with an aura that seemed to come from the very stars themselves. Its eyes shone like liquid silver, almost too bright to look at.
"You are full of hatred, child," the being's voice echoed around her like one of a celestial bring from fairy tales. It was totally calm, soothing, but carried an underlying power that made the air around her crackle with energy.
Soo-jin's heart thudded painfully in her chest, as the words of the being drag in the thoughts.
"Who are you?" she demanded immediately, her voice harsh and strong, broken by the weight of her grief.
"What is this place? Why am I here?" She laid immediate questions.
The figure moved closer, its presence intimidating her.
"I am one who watches the realms of magic," it said, its voice both soft and commanding.
"I am here because you have died with a heart full of vengeance, a heart that wishes for a second chance at life. You seek justice, do you not?"
Soo-jin's breath hitched as she heard those words.
"Yes," she whispered under her breathe, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and desperation.
"I want them to pay... Tae-hyun... Ji-yoon... I will make them regret everything they did to me."
The being regarded her quietly for a moment, its silver eyes piercing through the depths of her soul.
"You have been wronged, and your thirst for vengeance is strong and ultimate. But such darkness comes at a cost if you must know. However, I am willing to offer you a path, a chance to rewrite your fate, to return to the world once more, and claim the justice you seek. All you must do is accept the deal."
Soo-jin's heart thundered in her chest as the spirit says those words.
A chance to live again? A chance to return and make them suffer for every single thing they did for me? Her body ached with the hunger for revenge, the need to destroy the two people who had betrayed her and made her feel the worst pain. There was no hesitation in her.
"I accept," she said, her voice strong, though her heart raced with the weight of her decision. "Send me back to my world. I'll make them regret ever crossing my path."
The celestial being nodded, a faint smile forming on it lips.
"Very well," it said, and with that, the void around her twisted, collapsing inward like a dying star.
In an instant, the world around her shifted within a gaze. The darkness faded away, replaced by strong light, and then, ground. Hard, solid ground beneath her feet.
Soo-jin gasped for breathe, blinking her eyes open. She was no longer in the void as before. She was standing in the middle of a foreign and new landscape. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth soil around, and the sky above was a dark, stormy gray. In front of her, a sprawling forest stretched out into the distance. Her surroundings looked ancient, untouched by modern civilization.
But there was something else, a strange feeling, as if her very being had changed. She looked down at herself, her fingers brushing against her clothes, and gasped. She was dressed in worn, medieval garb, a simple brown tunic and leather boots.
Before she could process what had just happened, a strange mark began to burn into her skin,an intricate symbol of swirling lines and shapes, glowing faintly. It felt like it was part of her, like a mark of destiny she could neither escape nor understand.
Soo-jin stumbled backward, her hand clutching at the mark on her chest.
"What... is this?" she whispered, panic rising within her chest at once.
The being's voice echoed in her mind like a bell if reminder, calm yet filled with authority.
"You are marked by destiny, Soo-jin. This is the beginning of your new life, the start of your rise for revenge. You may be powerless now, but this world will give you the chance to reclaim what you have lost over the years, and to punish those who betrayed you and caused you ultimate pain."
Soo-jin's heart pounded in her chest as the weight of the situation sank in like the words of a mother. She was in a new world, one where she was completely powerless but marked by something she couldn't yet comprehend or even understand.
And somehow, she knew, she wasn't the only one with a destiny to fulfill.
Her enemies[Tae-hyun and Ji-yoon], were still out there. And she would hunt them down.
But as she took a step forward, something caught her eye. A figure moving swiftly through the trees, shadowed and unfamiliar, yet somehow... menacing. The mark on her chest pulsed.
Could this be one of her first enemies or rival? Or perhaps a new ally in a world that would never be the same again?
Soo-jin drew in a sharp breath, her gaze narrowing. She had no time to waste in this particular spot.
The journey for vengeance had only just begun.
