Chapter 1 - Tears of the Knight

Twilight was beginning to set on the land of Hyrule as a lone figure wrapped up in warm clothing as this was one of the coldest regions in Hyrule stepped up to a massive glowing tower. The male looked behind himself his bright blue eyes searching for something in the sky. Then he saw it, coming around the Pikda Stonegrove was the Light Dragon.

That was were the Great Deku Tree said the Master Sword was. That was were Zelda was too. The young man took a deep breath as he stepped into the tower and onto the platform that would launch him into the sky. He had already activated this tower and scanned the ground below the update his map, but now it'll serve him well to get to where he needed to go so touching the Purah Pad to the console and then quickly pocketing said pad as Purah would be pretty cross at him if he either lost or damaged to piece of technology that she spent so long developing.

The launch pad shook violently which always made Link stumble slightly, he didn't know if he would ever get used to this feeling but he didn't have too long to think about it as he was shot out of the top and high into the air. Getting out his paraglider Link turned himself around to find the Light dragon once more. He glided over to her and hoovered above her head before folding up his paraglider and dropping several feet before opening his paraglider once more to land gently in between the massive glowing horns, they were thin and was a mix of blue and green, Zelda always said her favourite colour was blue because it reminded her of his eyes.

There the Master Sword rested in her head, his heart broke a little, did it cause her pain with it lodged there? He hoped with everything that he was that it didn't.

He walked up to his faithful blade planting his feet as best he could he took hold of the blade in both hands and gave a small pull.

Suddenly the dragon roared and began to thrash it's head wildly, the dragon sped up causing Link to lose his grasp slightly as he let the Master Sword go with one hand but he was able to hold on and after a few moments he was able to grab the blade with his other hand once more.

Link pulled himself towards the blade was able to plant his feet once more onto the dragon, digging his heels in to give himself better grip, he pulled and pulled at the sword, finally nearly at the brink of exhaustion the long fur that had been holding the sword fell away, the dragon stopped thrashing and Link held the sword skyward he could feel the sword was different, still the Master Sword but it felt more powerful putting it in the scabbard on his back Link looked down at the now calm dragon.

He knelt down and ran his fingers through the soft fur now gone short without having to hold the Master Sword in place anymore he combed extensively through the area where the blade was, he was trying to see if any mark or wound had been left. To his relief he found nothing. After breathing a small sigh he leaned down and kissed the Light Dragon gently.

"I'm sorry" he muttered quietly as he placed his forehead just above where he kissed her. There was too many things he was sorry to Zelda for. Failing to catch her when she fell into the darkness before disappearing, sorry for letting the Master Sword break, sorry that he wasn't able to be there for her when she needed it most.

The memory of her swallowing her secret stone came to mind and tears started to swell in his eyes how scared she must have felt in that moment knowing that she was going to become this and not knowing if she would ever see her friends again.

He stayed there for a few hours telling her how much he loved her and promising that he would find a way to bring her back, he didn't care how long it took or what he would have to endure if it meant he could hold her and kiss her once more.
