Ch.3 - ethereal flux 2

Before Shaym could look into it even more, the teacher entered the classroom and so, the afternoon class began.

Hours passed, the silent air outside the classroom, the voice of the teacher and the muttering of the students were all in sync as though Shyam was listening to music hours long.

After class when Shyam packed up his things to leave for home, though it was unexpected but aJoy actually said a proper bye. Surprisingly enough shyam too replied with a " bye. " Shyam was lost in thoughts of who could have written those texts in his textbooks.

He saw both Karthik and annaya waiting for him at the school gate, curious Shyam asked " Don't you guys have club activities? " Caught off goard Karthik tried giving a simple explanation. " It's your first day of school, who knows you might get lost in the way home ".

As expected of Karthik, caring from above the shell though hard as a rock from inside. Upon hearing Karthik's cheap explanation Shyam turned his head towards Annaya, who, unlike Karthik gave a valid reason to be here, she said " I am the only member in my club so I can ditch it whenever I like, as long as I report every week it's all good. "

Her tone soft yet serious, her eyes fixed on the same book she was reading this morning inside the train. Though not quite sure if it was about ethereal flux or some other book.

The book cover did not contain any information except the name which was { illusions of reality }.

Though Shyam always used to tease annaya, because of her nerdiness, but, today was different. today he had something else to think about.

He was still trying to figure out the meaning of those texts written in his textbook.

That night before Shyam slept he once again thought about those unknown texts. Though he was curious to know what might happen after he sleeps and enters his dream world, he was scared too at the same time.

Scared that if something happen to him, who will look after his little sister?:Isha

Shyam and his little sister live alone in an apartment, when Shyam was about to graduated from middle school Isha had died in a tragic accident, though everyone believed she was dead, Shyam didn't.

Almost a year later, even now shyam lived with his parents and one day, the doorbell rang, and when shyam unlocked the door he was stunned to see his little sister back alive again, he could not believe what he saw. He tried telling his parents but they thought he was hallucinating, after all, the pain of losing the one who you love is not something to bear off so easily.

For a few weeks Shyam's parents tried to explain to Shyam that Isha was no longer alive, but Shyam could see her; touch her, talk to her. How can not she be alive, no matter how much Shyam told them Isha was here, they wouldn't believe him.

Shyam was tired of explaining so he insisted on living alone, though his perents still told him it was completely alright to stay with them, and mabye as time passes he would not see isha anymore.

But Shyam on the other hand had already decided, that he would live alone with his little sister.

at last they did not have any other option than to let go. Shyam had also told it to his friends: annaya & Karthik, about this matter. Which is when he found out about ethereal flux.

STORY PAUSE ----

( Ethereal Flux is a term often used in speculative fiction, science, and fantasy to describe a dynamic, mystical flow of energy that permeates a realm, dimension, or system. It symbolizes the ever-changing, intangible essence of reality or existence, akin to a cosmic current. In fantasy settings, ethereal flux may serve as the source of magic or spiritual energy, influencing beings and their environments in unpredictable ways.

Scientifically, it can refer metaphorically to a concept of fluctuating energies or states in theoretical physics, like quantum fields or dimensions beyond our perception. Its instability often creates opportunities and challenges, such as portals, anomalies, or powerful transformations.

The concept is deeply tied to themes of balance, chaos, and the unknown, inviting both wonder and caution in its application. It remains a versatile and evocative idea for worldbuilding and storytelling. )

STORY CONTINUES ----

Though Shyam could see Isha, feel Isha. But the most surprising fact is, isha does not ever get hungry. Though she can eat, but she doesn't really needs to, forget hunger, she doesn't even need to rehydrate either. It was like she is a spiritual being only visible to shyam and only shyam.

He was used to it, as time passed he thought, mabye, he really was seeing illusions of his little sister, but today after seeing these texts in his notebook gave him another reason to study more about ethereal flux.

With a deep breath he drank a glass of water and prepared to sleep, though before sleeping he read the texts again to make sure he remembered where to go, just in case he really enters a dream world with his own consciousness, also known as ' lucid dreaming '.

" Well, not like thinking about it would give me any answer, and i have to sleep anyway. Why am I thinking about it that much, ahh! "

He muttered to himself before falling into a deep sleep.

2017 - 01 - 04 : 12:32 AM.

Shyam's eyes opened in the middle of the night, though to say it was middle of the night, yet, he still wasn't sleepy at all. As if he had a great sleep just now.

He looked at the clock and it really was the middle of the night, suddenly he heard a voice so familiar yet unrecognisable.

" Finally, I was waiting for you! Come at the beach before you wake up "

Shyam in shock looked around but found no one except himself in the bedroom. He opened the door to his sister's bedroom but surprisingly. No one was there, for a moment he was scared, so scared that he ran outside the apartment as fast as he could.

As he looked around the town which usually is busy even in midnight was empty as if the world has ended and he was the only person alive.

No cars no people only the buildings with no light yet the moonlight was so bright he could clearly see the road ahead of him.

He quickly ran back to his bedroom and tried to find his phone, but only then did he realised. Any electronic device was gone from here, including the lights.

shyam then tried to find the notebook which had those texts in it, though he found the notebook. But not the texts, they were gone, completely.

" You don't say ! "
