Knights stood firm before swirling chaos their swords gleaming under crimson sky. Air was thick with smoke and sharp scent of burning wood. From within black flames a figure emerged - a man with pale face eyes black as void and hair that flickered like fire itself. He moved with eerie silence his long coat billowing behind him. Surrounding destruction seemed beneath his notice as he glided forward with slow deliberate steps. Flames danced around him but he didn't flinch. His gaze was fixed on knights who stood frozen in awe.
Igetis stepped forward, his golden armor catching the dim light. "Are you the one responsible for this?" he demanded, his voice unwavering.
The figure in the fire tilted his head slightly, a sly smile creeping across his lips. "Manners, Sir Knight manners," he said in an almost mocking tone. "It's quite rude to address someone without introducing yourself first. After all, what are we without manners?
igetis moved closer, his steps slow and deliberate, his presence suffocating. "At the very least, you should know the name of the one who will end your little crusade."
Igetis tightened his grip on his sword, feeling the weight of responsibility settle on his shoulders. "My name is Igetis, a knight of the Sun. And yours, Chaos Seeker?"
The man placed a hand over his chest, bowing slightly. "Now we can talk," he mused. "I am Skotadi, mister igetis. And let's not make this day any worse, shall we? The world is already drowning in suffering; no need for us to add to it, just ideas of that suffering would make me want to reshape it ."
Igetis' eyes hardened. "It will suffer far less without you in it."
Skotadi's smirk faded, his gaze darkening. "What a short-term solution you offering, mister igetis."
Theo and Evangeline, a younger knight's talk at once. "Enough talking. He's a sickness. The sooner we take him down, the better the world will be ."
Skotadi chuckled, his eyes flickering toward Theo and Evangeline. "Ah, siblings. I can see it. The same rashness, the same fire." His smile faded into something more sinister. "But I'll forgive your recklessness. Youth has all the time to learn."
Igetis kept his eyes on Skotadi. "Theo, Evangeline—focus. This place feels... wrong."
Theo's eyes widened as he realized it. "We're in his barrier."
Evangeline scanned the area, noticing the shifting shadows creeping closer. "And we're not alone there are bugs around us ."
A dozen shadowy figures emerged behind Skotadi, their eyes glowing faintly. One stepped forward, its voice like a whisper in the wind. "Let's get rid of them quickly for a better world and the rest of the shadows said for a better life."
Evangeline spun her sword in her hand. "I'd love to see you try, shadow bugs."
Skotadi sighed dramatically. You should have manners as a girl first did the knights don't make you learn some manners. Always so enthusiastic. Very well—take them down.
The shadows lunged, and in an instant, steel met steel. Evangeline deflected a sickle strike aimed at her throat, pivoting gracefully to deliver a counter-slash. Theo parried another attack, his blade ringing out against his opponent's, sparks flying as they exchanged furious blows.
Theo gritted his teeth, feeling the weight of each strike as the shadow warriors pressed forward relentlessly. He stole a glance at Evangeline, who met his eyes with a determined nod. Without a word, they began shifting their fight, drawing their opponents away from Igetis and Skotadi.
"Follow them!" one shadow hissed. Let us take the bait and the others obeyed, eager for the kill.
Skotadi watched with an approving smirk. "Smart. Let the young settle their matters while we deal with ours."
His hand shot forward, and darkness swirled around him. "Mavri Fotia!" he roared, sending a wave of black fire surging toward Igetis. Trees crumbled, the earth scorched as the inferno tore through everything in its path.
Igetis stood his ground, raising his sword high. "Iero Fos!" he bellowed, and his blade erupted in radiant light. He swung it in a wide arc, the golden glow slicing through the dark flames and scattering them into harmless embers. The entire clearing lit up, pushing back the suffocating darkness.
Skotadi's lips curled into a sneer. "Light is fleeting, knight. Darkness… darkness is eternal."
He moved with deadly precision, his form flickering like a shadow, and in a blink, he was upon Igetis. Their swords clashed with an ear-splitting crack, the sheer force sending shockwaves through the ground. Igetis staggered back but quickly recovered, stepping into the next strike with unwavering resolve.
Skotadi's movements were fluid, his blade an extension of the darkness itself. He struck with deceptive speed—each slash carrying the weight of despair. Igetis met him strike for strike, his golden armor glowing with every movement, illuminating the battlefield with bursts of light.
Their battle intensified. Skotadi lunged low, his blade cutting toward Igetis' ribs, but the knight sidestepped, countering with an upward slash that forced Skotadi to retreat. Igetis pressed forward, his sword a beacon of hope cutting through the shadowy haze.
The forest trembled under their duel, the screaming mushrooms letting out terrified shrieks as they scurried to avoid the chaos. igetis notice the screaming mushrooms and he waved his sword and the black fire was surrendering the screaming mushrooms despair .
"Strange creatures," Skotadi mused, panting as he eyed the fleeing fungi. "They scream in pain, yet never run far enough to escape it. Do you see, knight? They follow the suffering, drawn to it."
Igetis didn't waver. "No need to worry. I'm here to protect them."
Skotadi's grin darkened. "And that's exactly why they don't leave. Your presence makes them weak. But I can't blame them... if I had someone to protect me, I'd stay too."
Igetis lunged, his sword igniting in pure light as he swung with all his strength. Skotadi barely dodged, the searing energy grazing his arm and leaving a smoldering mark. He hissed in irritation before retaliating with a downward strike, his black fire clashing against Igetis' blade in an eruption of sparks.
Both combatants pushed against each other, their eyes locked in an unspoken battle of willpower. Each clash sent waves of energy through the clearing, causing the trees to groan and the air to tremble.
Finally, Igetis found an opening, shoving Skotadi back with a forceful strike. The darkness-wielding foe staggered, but his grin never faltered. "Well then, Igetis. Shall we continue?"
Igetis steadied his breath, his sword glowing brighter than ever. "Until the light drives out darkness."
Their battle was far from over.
