Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: CAPTIVITY

Cassandra was seriously struggling with the bodyguards, she wanted to run out of the moving car but they held her down till they arrived at the magnanimous and huge mansion of Lord Davis. When they opened the door, she made an attempt to run out but unfortunately for her, the mansion was heavily guarded so she couldn't run away. She was stranded and devastated but she didn't give up on her escape. Lord Davis was just watching her and laughing, he motioned his bodyguards not to catch her, they should leave her, she would soon give up and as if he knew, she later calmed down and gave in to her faith. She looked at him in a very dangerous manner, her gaze gave him chills which was kind of abnormal for the Lord of the mafias. Her aura could be sensed in the compound and everyone including him knew that she wasn't happy with the arrangement. Lord Davis became tired of watching her so he motioned his most trusted bodyguard to get her. He caught her by the wrist and dragged her to her bedroom which was the master bedroom on the second floor of the mansion. She was locked up in the room for the meantime, her room was lavishly decorated, the wall paper was red with beautiful pink and red flower and an image of a flowing river in between. Her bed was a huge one with a red pillow case, blanket and bed sheet. Her room was decorated in red colors, she had a huge wall mirror, an expensive wardrobe, makeup items, expensive clothing and shoes, in fact, the accessories in the room spoke for itself. But at that she still wanted to go back to her family, she was thinking of her mom, because she last remembered that her mom hit her head hard against a golden iron stool and she saw blood gushing out of her head which made her to lose consciousness. She was very concerned about her mom but she had no means to contact her.

Meanwhile at the hospital, her dad and siblings were still devastated at the event that occurred and one could say that there family would ever remain the same again. They were lost in thoughts especially Aldo, to an extent they didn't even know when the doctor came out of the operation room with his assistant. He was shocked when he felt someone's hands on his shoulder. He looked up to see the doctor looking at him with a worried expression on his face, he hurriedly stood up from the iron bench and held the doctor's hands waiting for a good news. The doctor was calm and quite for some time, he remained like that so that their dad will calm down a bit. But Aldo was eager to hear what the doctor has to say

Aldo: (With a pale and worried look on his face, he was still holding the doctor's hands steadily) Doctor please tell me my wife is okay, i can't lose her now, I've lost so much already.

Doctor: (Smiled faintly and gestured their dad to follow him to his office) Please let's continue this conversation in my office, if you don't mind.

Aldo: (Followed the doctor to his office hoping for good news) Yes doctor, tell me what happened to my wife.

Doctor: (still smiling, then he sat down and faced him) Please have your seat Sir Aldo and calm down, your wife is in good health and state. But I need you to calm down because what I'm about to tell you is not something bad, but I need you to accept it in good fate.

Aldo: (Was confused) I don't understand, you said she was okay a minute ago and now you are telling me to accept it in good fate. Doctor, did anything happen to my wife? tell me now so that I will know, she's the only precious possession I have now, I can't let anything to happen to her, please doctor.

Doctor: (was worried) Your wife had memory loss, she was too terrified and couldn't calm down, she lost so much blood and she was too exhausted, and as a result developed memory loss. But don't be scared, she will be alright.

Aldo: (Had a sad expression on his face, he was worried and happy at the same time. He was happy because at least now she won't remember that she had a daughter that was taken away from her, and worried because if she can't remember anything then she had also forgotten her other children and him, to make her accept them as her family was going to be difficult. But he also wanted to know if it was temporal) Doctor, is it temporal? Will she later remember it all?

Doctor: (He was actually hoping that he wouldn't ask but he told him anyway) I'm sorry, but it's permanent unfortunately.

Aldo: (Broke down in tears and began to blame himself) It's all my fault, if I hadn't owe him, If only I had been satisfied with what I had and controlled my greed, all this would never had happened. I'm the cause of her memory loss and my daughter's captivity, I don't deserve to be alive. How I wish it was me in her place, it would have been better, she doesn't deserve this, neither of them deserve this. Why did they all had to be dragged into my mess, what a cruel world it is. (He was seriously lamenting when the doctor came besides him and began to pet him and beg him to calm down)

Doctor: (Felt pity for him and wished he could do something about it but nothing could be done) Please take heart in the situation, you are a man and you need to be strong, remember you still have your children and wife to take care of, if you also break down now, what will happen to them. Your wife needs your help now the most, your children need your help now and you also need to console yourself and be strong. Everyone makes mistake, but there's always a second chance to make amends, just learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat it again. I'm very sure that everything will be alright.

Aldo: (Wiped his tears away and composed himself for his children, then he stood up and hugged the doctor) Thank you so much doctor, I'll try to be strong for myself and everyone. But, I have a question that has been bugging me till now.

Doctor: Yes, ask away.

Aldo: Please, will she be able to recognize us after being with us for some time? And when will she be discharged?

Doctor: Yes, she's going to adapt to you all after some while but, please don't stress her brain too much. Just let her be and allow her to figure things out by herself. She will be alright as I've told you. About her discharge, we are still observing her, after some while I'll communicate to you later. As for now, just go home and rest and keep everybody calm.

Aldo: Thank you doctor, I'll be expecting your call. (Then he went out of the office, everyone wanted to know how their mom was doing. He told them their mom was fine, then they went home)

At Lord Davis mansion, Cassandra was still locked up in her room thinking of her mom and praying for her when the door was suddenly opened and some group of maids entered with a new short red dress. They greeted her as the lady of the mansion and wanted to take her to the bathroom, but she resisted and wouldn't go. She ran to the door thinking that it was opened but she couldn't open it. The maids were begging her to cooperate with them so that they would not be punished but she resisted, after two hours of begging and pleading with her, the door was opened again and this time Lord Davis figure could be seen.
