Isadora swung her legs over the edge of the bed, the stone floor chilly beneath her feet, causing the cold to rush down her spine.
Her bare feet tapped closer to the circular window with a raven crest. She pressed her palms against the hard wall and rose to her tiptoes, but she could not glimpse what was laid out there.
Her eyes scrutinized the spooky room for anything she could use to support her height until they landed on a box in a corner.
Smirking, she hurried and hauled it to the window ignoring the loud grating it made.
Climbing onto it, she used her tiptoes again and finally got a peek.
"Alda!" she gasped at the city nestled deep within the cavern. It was unlike anything she had ever seen and caused her lips to part and her eyes to widen in marvel.
The buildings were attached to the crooked rock of the mountain, sitting tall and firm—golden lights illuminating the dark like stars in a void from the windows.
