The room became smaller than it was meant to be, his mere presence seemed to eat away any form of space and replaced it with a suffocating box Isadora struggled to breathe in.
What does he want with her? Why kidnap her and act as if he would use her abilities for personal gain and then suddenly want to dispose of her?
None of his actions made sense since the day she met him, he was nothing but a cluttered individual: his unusual ways and his tendency to find jest in the worst condition.
"Why do you want me dead?" Her questions were nothing but a puff of smoke because Kraven just sat there with a cheeky smile on his lips watching her like he was having a pleasing thought of what to do with her.
Whatever he had in mind, Isadora did not want to find out. The man was insane to the core.
Isadora got more frustrated by his silence, choosing to insult him and be done with it. "Does a madman not know what to do with a mannfae?"
Finally a response from him but only a raised eyebrow, a spark of intrigue in his silver eyes, with an eerily glow to them in the dark. Such eyes were fascinating but on him, it felt like a scourge.
"I can think of a thousand ways to kill you," he spoke in a velvety voice. "Like first throwing you off board"
Isadora's angry expression morphed into one of horror, she had spent days traveling with this man and yet he still conjured ways to stun her to the core.
"But that would be terrifying, wouldn't it? Drowning in the dark sea, unable to breathe" he voiced as if he could vividly picture it—and him on board watching. "Tell me, Isadora"
A cold chill crawled down her spine.
"If I let you go, where would you run to, hm? I told you already this realm isn't kind to outcasts like us"
"I'm not like you!"
He chuckled lightly. "We're alike. What use could you be to this forsaken realm?"
"What use could you have of me?" she asked shakily.
"Oh love, I can think of many things but I'm not sure you're ready… yet"
Suddenly he stood up and Isadora inhaled sharply attempting to flee but he was on her in less than a second.
His speed was a mystery and how he got into the cabin she had bolted to the hilt was even more disturbing.
The Abyss flashed in her head. How more terrifying he looked like a creature born from darkness and the disturbing shadows enclosing him.
It might just be her imagination but at this moment it felt like the shadows were in play again.
She inhaled as his large hand wrapped around her neck, applying pressure to the already sore place. The nostalgia hit her so badly like a blow to the face and in resignation, she squeezed her eyes shut awaiting the worst.
"Open your eyes"
At his command she did and what she saw next was a far cry from disturbing, no Fae should be like this, this way, it was all wrong, the gods made a mistake creating this man to walk this realm.
"So fragile," he said more to himself, a frown taking over his features. "You want answers, love?" he leaned close, their lips almost touching.
For a split second Isadora thought he would seal their lips for a kiss.
"Survive"
Isadora gasped when the door knob shook uncontrollably like someone was trying to break in. She looked back to Kraven but found him gone, her fist clenched on the bed but instead on something, a dagger.
The doors barged open as two men in unusual attire stormed in. Isadora rose to her feet keeping her hands behind her to conceal the dagger.
"Thornfoot was right, she is a mannfae, look at those ears..." one of them said, his fingers donned in rings, several piercings on their faces too.
"Easy... remember the orders," the other said before flashing her a grin revealing silver teeth. "We're taking her unspoiled. Damaged goods are no good"
They both chuckled and took a step closer and Isadora aimed her dagger right at the hand that tried to grab her.
He cursed as blood dribbled from his palm. "By the olden gods!" he swore and came for her and Isadora screamed her lungs out as she tried to defend herself but her advances were nothing more than a weak animal trying to fend off two beasts.
Her skill with a dagger mocked her situation and made everything worse.
She shrieked and thrashed as they grabbed her, kicking and punching as she could and one of them got impatient and attempted to land a hit on her face but a dagger struck right through it and he wailed in terror.
The other turned to attack the intruder but halted when a blade pierced his chest, the blade redrew prompting the lifeless body to drop to the floor.
"Greet Daudi"
Only the sound of Isadora's uneven breath could be heard. She stood before a dead body once again, why does she keep finding her way into a situation like this? It was too much!
The wailing of the other echoed and it wasn't silent anymore.
Her amber eyes darted to the door and Kraven stood there unfazed. Gradually he walked to her and took her chin in an iron hold. "You've got a lot to learn, love"
Isadora spat on his face.
