Rey was stunned by the fierce counterattack from Elias. Still, he wasn't as weak as the last time they fought. Then, his winds had failed to hurt Elias. But this time, he didn't have to rely on his winds alone.
Instead of protecting his face, he grabbed Elias's waist and released flames capable of destroying everything in their path.
Elias felt a burning sensation that made him cry out in pain. He could feel flames burning his flesh and entering his body, threatening to melt it from the inside.
At this rate, even if he killed Rey, his own chances of survival were slim. It was no different than being collateral damage in his efforts to kill Rey.
He changed his plan and abandoned his attack, attempting to jump back instead.
"Where are you going?" Rey asked, his blood-covered lips curving into a smile. Last time, it was Elias who had refused to let him escape, thrashing him relentlessly. But this time, he had taken control of the situation.
