"How do I look?" Inside the apartment, a young woman stepped out of the room, wearing nothing but a thin t-shirt that came down to her thighs.
She flaunted her curves as she walked towards the man on the couch. She sat on the man's lap, planting a kiss on his lips before he could even answer her questions.
"You are truly a vixen, aren't you?" Leo said, breathing heavily as he moved his head back. Just a few months ago, he could never have imagined a life like this. But now, he was living like a prince, with one of the prettiest girls in the building in his arms.
He had completely changed his life. In this life, he wasn't the simp that was chasing after a woman in an apocalypse, only to be betrayed by her. Instead, he had taken a different path after getting a vision of the future that was accompanied by another ability.
"Only for you," the woman said, biting on Leo's neck.
"You better," the man smiled as he picked the woman up in his arms and started walking towards the bedroom.
Right then, he heard the knocks on the door which made him frown.
"Is it those idiots trying to rob resources again?" He completely ignored the knock.
He had already reinforced the door. They could never break through unless he allowed them inside. He also had weapons in his storage. Even if those thugs somehow managed to break through, they were simply going to die.
He didn't pay any attention to the knocks, and approached the bedroom with the girl in his arms.
Just as he was about to step inside the bedroom, he felt a sudden rush of wind that came with such a force that it sent him flying inside the bedroom. The woman also fell off his arms, hitting her head on the corner of the bed.
"Are you alright?" The man quickly recovered and rushed to the woman. He also brought forth his gun, preparing for the unexpected.
"I am fine. It's just a little bleeding," the woman rubbed her forehead, feeling sharp pain.
Even if the man felt sad that his woman was hurt, he was relieved that it wasn't anything serious.
"Don't leave this time. I will be right back," he told the girl before removing the safety lock on his gun. He stepped out of his room to see who was responsible for this.
He felt his hands straight, and his gun aimed at the distance as he stepped out of the room. His eyes kept searching for any kind of presence in the place, but he didn't find anyone there.
All he could see was that the door was missing, and everything inside the hall was in a mess because of that storm.
He thought about approaching the exit to see if those people were hiding in the hallway outside, but he felt a sense of danger. He quickly turned around, aiming his gun behind him.
The moment he looked back, he felt something grab the gun in his hand. The gun was snatched from him, and taken by the intruder, whose identity even left Leo surprised. It was... a child?
The child aimed the gun back at him, his fingers resting on the trigger.
Leo thought about trying to snatch the gun back from the child, but he was worried that there might be an accidental fire which might kill him. Even if he had abilities, they didn't grant him healing or immortality.
"What do you want?" he asked the unfamiliar child, his gaze only briefly shifting behind the child. He saw his girl was approaching Elias silently with a wine bottle in her hand like a weapon.
He also moved his hand behind his back, opening his spatial storage to bring out another gun stealthily. Now all he needed was a little distraction for Elias, so he could shoot him without being shot in return.
"I just want to talk. I hold no hostility towards you. If I did, you would be long dead," Elias said, trying to hold the gun steady.
Even though he hadn't used a gun in his past life, it didn't feel any more complicated. He had already seen the guns of his world, and this gun felt quite similar. This world was truly more or less identical to his original works.
"What do you need from me? Do you want food?" Leo asked, trying to keep Elias distracted. He held the gun firmly in his hand, his fingers on the trigger as if he was prepared to shoot Elias the moment he had an opportunity.
The woman also approached Elias silently, until she was right behind him. This was the opportunity and Leo was prepared to take advantage of it.
The woman raised the wine bottle, and with great force, she brought it down, slamming it on Elias' head.
Leo also reacted at the same time. There was no way Elias could be thinking straight the moment he was hit. He stopped hiding his gun, bringing it forward. A loud bang was heard, which was accompanied by a painful cry.
Blood trickled down Elias' forehead while glass pieces of the wine bottle fell off his body. Behind him, the woman was standing like a frozen statue in place, her pupils trembling.
"Leo!" She suddenly screamed, running towards Leo, who was crying in pain, holding his bleeding hand that was shot.
The gun had fallen off his hand, sliding straight to Elias, who bent forward and picked up the second gun as well. He used his sleeves to wipe the blood off his forehead before it could fall in his eyes.
"I thought it was going to work. Did I overestimate my approachability?" He wondered, looking at Leo who looked at him with great hostility.
He moved his left hand. A mini portal opened in front of him. He wanted to bring another gun, even if he had failed once. However, this time he didn't even have the opportunity to bring out the gun as another bang was heard.
The bullet travelled through his forearm, making him cry like a wounded beast.
"It looks like there are no opportunities for us to work together." Elias said, but he didn't look disappointed.
He had already seen another possibility the moment he physically saw Leo, especially with the detailed screen that appeared next to him. He didn't need collaboration anymore, as a new path seemed to be open for him.
