Chapter 1 - CHAPTER #1

The scene unfolds with a girl running through the forest holding on to her dearest life as she runs like a lunatic a strange creature that seemed more of a goblin was chasing her.

She jumped across the lake into a bush of thorns and was scratched all over. She, despite being injured, ran and ran until she found an abandoned castle in the middle of nowhere.

Terrified by the creature that was chasing her, she entered the castle with no hesitation and knocked on the door.

~KNOCK KNOCK~

No response she nudged the door, and it opened. She hurriedly entered and shut the door behind her and locked it with a wooden board placed beside it.

She looked around and found that despite being hideous on the outside, the castle on the inside was quite beautiful and well maintained. She went further into the darkness. As she stepped close to the candles, they suddenly lit the room, and the whole castle was now lit.

She gasped and frightened by the sudden lightening of candles she hurried into the nearest room. As she entered the living room, she saw a strange figure laying on a couch. Upon a closer look, it turned out to be a girl with beautiful jet black hair and skin as white as snow.

She went towards her, and as she reached out, she felt a sudden chill run down her spine. She touched the girls hand, and as expected, she was freezing.

Suddenly, she sensed some movement beside her as she looked at the girl ; she was slowly starting to open her eyes, and after she was awake, she looked at this anonymous girl by her side.

Without a second thought, she pounced at her, pinning her to the sofa with her hands twisted behind her back.

???: Who are you? And what is your business here? She interrogated.

???: I didn't mean to interrupt your slumber. I...I..I was just running away from a weird creature and stumbled here. She responded.

The girl quickly let her go and reached out her hand for her to get up. The sat up and the other girl introduces herself.

???Hey, I am Cordelia. She introduced while extending her hand for a hand shake. She gladly shook it.

???: I am Lilith. Nice to meet you.

Cordelia: So..... hey, you're bleeding. Let's patch you up, shall we?

Lilith: Hmm. By the way, what were you doing here, and why were you so cold? She asked.

Cordelia: ohh that I was just sleeping. Kinda had a hard day at school. The professor scolded me for not doing his homework, and then we got into a fight, and Yada Yada and I got suspended for a week. She told

Lilith: ohh what school do you go to?

Cordelia : I go to Dark Academia. It's a nice school where we get to be who we are. She said.

She led her to a room and made her sit on the bed as she reached out to get the first aid kit. After getting her well patched up, Lilith asked curiously.

Lilith: So what are you? I mean, are you a vampire or a werewolf or a mermaid or oohhh ohh, even better, a demon or something.she said excitedly like a child excited to get a lollipop

Cordelia chuckled and answered to her.

Cordelia: I am a vampire. By the way, aren't you afraid of me. I mean, I am a creepy, scary, and very weird creature.

Lilith: No, the family I lived with was far worse than a vampire or demon. They were monsters. I am pretty sure that the one chasing after me was sent by them.

Cordelia: What do you mean sent by them? Aren't they your parents?

Lilith: No, they are my foster parents, and they are the worst when they took me in they cherished me with love and care, but later on, they became distant to a point they'd even forget me. This one time we were suppose to go on a vacation with family and they forgot me at home with no food for a month thankfully I had one of my neighbours that took care for me if not for them I would've been dead due to starvation.

She told her everything like she had a connection with her; that she knew she'd understand her.

Cordelia: must've been rough for you, huh? She said, consoling her and asking her whether she was hungry or not. To which she responded with a yes.

They both made their way to the kitchen.

Cordelia: Hey, so I have no cooking skills. So would you like some ramen? She asked Lilith. She chuckled and said

Lilith: I'll cook for us. What would you like? She asked gently.

Cordelia: I'll have anything you make as long as it's delicious. She said with a big smile that formed dimples on her chubby cheeks.

Lilith : OK, then I'll make my specialty just for you then!? She told her to which she smiled excitedly.

After working for an hour in the kitchen, she finally served her specialty, which was a Japanese curry she had mastered over the years while staying with her foster parents. Cordelia took a bite from her food and exclaimed it was delicious.

She munched away as she noticed that Lilith was not eating with her. So she asked.

Cordelia: Hey, why aren't you eating with me? Isn't this your specialty?

Lilith: At my old house, I was not allowed to sitwoth them or eat on the same plate as them.

Cordelia: So it's not their house, and you're not with them anymore .So come join me.

Lilith gladly accepted the offer and sat at the table Cordelia as they both ate their food.

Lilith: So you said that you can be yourself at the academy. So does that mean their are more like you out their that come to study their? She asked curiously. Cordelia nodded and ate her food as she responded.

Cordelia: I just don't come here for naps. I live here in this castle with my friends, and they are at the academy probably attending their classes. She responded to her question.

They were having a nice chat until Cordelia became awfully quiet. Lilith thought she had said something to offend Cordelia or had asked something she shouldn't have. While she was still in her thoughts; Cordelia suddenly pounced at her, making her hit the ground with a thud as a knife was seen sticking at the wall.

Someone had just tried to kill her again. And if not for Cordelia, she would've been dead by now. She looked up to see the face of this anonymous killer and to her horrors it was the creature that was chasing her down the forest.
