Chapter 1 - Prologue

Ivy Silverman swept into the nightclub, her head held high and her heels clicking against the marble floor. She knew exactly where Damien Hayes was sitting, and she made a beeline for his table.

Damien stood as she approached, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "Ivy Silverman, right on time," he said smoothly. "Please, have a seat."

Ivy slipped into the chair opposite Damien, crossing her legs and fixing him with a steady gaze.

"So, Damien," Ivy purred, her voice dripping with seduction, "I understand you have a proposition for me?"

Damien leaned back in his chair, a hint of arrogance in his posture.

"That's right," he said, his eyes roaming over Ivy's figure. "I've heard a lot about your talents, and I believe you might be the perfect person to help me with a little project I've been working on."

Ivy arched an eyebrow, intrigued despite herself. "And what kind of project would that be?" she asked.

Damien's smirk grew wider. "I want you to get close to my stepbrother, Xavier Hollingsworth," he said, his voice low and conspiratorial.

"He has something that I need, something that could give me the upper hand in our little...family feud."

Ivy's eyes narrowed. "And what is it exactly that you're looking for?" she asked, curiosity getting the better of her.

Damien leaned forward, his expression turning serious. "There's a document," he said, his voice grave. "A document that could change everything."

Ivy considered Damien's proposal, her mind racing. She was no stranger to manipulating powerful men, but this felt different. This felt dangerous.

"And what's in it for me?" she asked, her voice taking on a harder edge. "I don't do charity work, you know."

Damien reached into his pocket and withdrew a thick envelope. He slid it across the table towards Ivy. "I think you'll find this arrangement to be more than fair," he said, his gaze unwavering.

Ivy took the envelope and thumbed through the wads of cash inside.

"Impressive," Ivy said, her eyes never leaving Damien's face. "But this still doesn't answer my question. Why me? Surely you could hire any number of people to do your dirty work."

Damien's smirk returned. "You're right," he said. "But you have something that the others don't: talent. You're a master at manipulation, and that's exactly what I need. Xavier won't know what hit him when you're finished with him."

Ivy arched an eyebrow again, a hint of amusement in her expression.

"So," Ivy said, pocketing the envelope and crossing her arms, "you want me to charm my way into Xavier's life, and then what? Steal this document for you?"

Damien shook his head, his expression turning serious again. "No," he said, his voice low and intense. "I want you to get close to him. Gain his trust. Make him fall in love with you."

"And then, when he's completely under your spell, I want you to destroy him. I want you to tear down everything he's built, one piece at a time."

Damien leaned forward, his eyes boring into Ivy's. "I want you to be the woman who makes Xavier Hollingsworth fall to his knees," he said, his voice dripping with venom. "I want you to break him."

Ivy studied Damien's face, her mind racing with possibilities. She could sense the hatred simmering just beneath the surface of his words, and she knew that Damien wasn't just after a document. He was after revenge.

"I can't guarantee anything," she said, her voice even and unreadable.

Damien leaned back in his chair, his expression suddenly enigmatic. "I understand," he said, his voice smooth and confident. "But I believe in your abilities. And I believe that together, we can bring Xavier Hollingsworth to his knees."

Ivy stood, adjusting her dress and smoothing her hair. "Then I guess we have a deal," she said, extending her hand to Damien.

Damien took her hand, his grip firm and steady. "Welcome to the team," he said, his smile both charming and chilling.
