Xhazam's first few weeks in the city were a whirlwind of adjustments, but with Old Man Mithi's(Barber who gave job to Xhazam) guidance, he found solace in the routine of barbering. The work was simple, but it provided him with the stability he needed. He learned quickly, mastering the art of cutting hair and shaving, gaining a reputation for his skill.
Soon, the barber shop became a bustling center, with people of all walks of life streaming through the door for his services. But the real change came when Xhazam found himself becoming more than just a barber. He was no longer just a boy from the village; he was a part of something bigger.
Mithi, noticing Xhazam's transformation, introduced him to his family. His eldest daughter, Isabella, was a striking woman, 26 years old, with a quiet, intense gaze. The second, Fuyuki, 24, had a lively spirit but was just as wary of Xhazam. Yet, it was Isabella's unspoken attention that intrigued Xhazam the most. Xhazam is good build handsome man which took isabella attention. Despite his innocence, he felt the weight of her gaze which is some what lustful—something about her seemed… off. Isabella greeted him with playful, double-meaning jokes, leaving Xhazam confused and slightly uncomfortable.
The dinner they shared was warm, yet a strange tension lingered. Xhazam was grateful for their kindness, but as the evening wore on, his thoughts were consumed by the growing mystery surrounding Isabella and her family. He politely declined their offer to stay the night, instead retreating to the small room behind the shop where he practiced his barbering skills. The art of shaving was still foreign to him, and he wasn't about to be complacent. He needed to be perfect.
Days passed, and Xhazam's skills grew. The customers were a mix of the city's elite and everyday people, all equally impressed with his work. But not everyone who walked through the door was kind. One such regular was Pedro Monteki, a corrupt police officer known for his arrogance. He is around 40 , he would come in demanding free service, scowling when Xhazam tried to charge him. His rude demeanor was unbearable, but Xhazam, following Mithi's advice, swallowed his pride and didn't confront him.
One day, however, Pedro crossed a line. After refusing to pay yet again, he slapped Xhazam across the face in front of the other customers. Something in Xhazam snapped. His fists clenched, a surge of energy bubbling beneath the surface, but before he could react, Old Man Mithi stepped in, stopping him with a firm hand on his shoulder.
"Don't respond to his provocation, Xhazam," Mithi warned. "He's not worth your anger."
Xhazam, still seething, couldn't understand why Mithi let this man treat them so disrespectfully. He pulled Mithi aside after Pedro left.
"Why do you let him provoke us, Old Man? He's a disgrace!"
Mithi's face darkened, and for the first time, Xhazam saw a glimpse of pain in his eyes. "You don't know who Pedro really is, Xhazam," Mithi began. "My wife… she was an agent, a good one. She once told me about Pedro. There was a time when the department sent him after a notorious drug lord. He went alone, against orders, and killed all the smugglers—thirty of them all but himself. But when we arrived, we found him covered in their blood, grinning like a monster. He claimed it was a victory. Later, when one of the officers questioned him, and even slap Pedro for his behaviour that time Pedro didn't respond just smirk and left two days later that officer dead body found in his backyard. No one had proof who killed him but many suspect Pedro but no proof at his death pedro again give a smile leave all officers stunned, My wife start investigating this case but after one week command came from above officer's and goverment to stop the investigation this confirm my wife something is fishy. She always said he was dangerous."
Xhazam ask where she is now I didn't saw her at dinner also when I visited , Mithi replied with smile she died 6 years ago
Xhazam fell silent, absorbing the weight of Mithi's words. Pedro was more than just a corrupt cop—he was a predator.
Mithi's voice softened. "I'm not telling you this to start a war, Xhazam. But you need to understand what you're dealing with."
As the days passed, Xhazam learned to keep his distance, focusing on his work and ignoring Pedro's provocations. Yet, deep within him, something was stirring.
