Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 - Morning

The first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft golden glow over the modest room. The warmth of the morning sun kissed the edges of the bed where two figures lay entwined beneath the disheveled sheets. Max stirred first, his crimson eyes fluttering open as he adjusted to the light. He glanced down at Lyria, who rested against his chest, her silken platinum hair spilling over his arm like a silver waterfall.

For a moment, he allowed himself to bask in the serenity of the moment. The tension and chaos of the past weeks seemed distant, replaced by the calm rhythm of Lyria's breathing. Her delicate fingers rested against his abdomen, and her soft, relaxed expression made her look even more ethereal in the gentle light.

A small smile tugged at Max's lips. "Good morning, sleeping beauty," he murmured, his voice low and teasing.

Lyria stirred, her lashes fluttering before her sky-blue eyes opened to meet his gaze. A faint blush crept across her cheeks as she registered their closeness, but her lips curved into a soft smile. "Good morning," she replied, her voice still husky with sleep.

For a moment, neither of them moved, content to enjoy the quiet intimacy of the morning. Max couldn't help but reflect on how far he'd come. Seven long years of restraint, of living in a child's body, unable to fully act on his instincts—and now, finally, he had the physique to match his desires. His tall, muscular frame was a testament to his growth, and the freedom that came with it was exhilarating. He allowed himself a moment of private amusement, his lips curling into a small, self-satisfied smirk. 'This body's finally grown into what it was meant to be,' he thought, relishing the power and confidence it gave him. 'And damn, it feels good.'

Then, with a playful glint in her eyes, Lyria's hand began to trail lower, her fingers brushing lightly against Max's toned abdomen.

"What are you doing?" Max asked, his tone amused but laced with curiosity.

Lyria's blush deepened, but she didn't stop. Her fingers moved with tentative confidence as she trailed lower, her touch both exploratory and deliberate. "Just… testing a theory," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Max raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "Oh? And what theory is that?"

Lyria didn't answer immediately. Instead, her hand wrapped around him, her delicate fingers stroking his length with an almost reverent touch. Max inhaled sharply, his body reacting instantly to her ministrations. A low groan escaped his lips, and his crimson eyes darkened as he watched her.

"You're... bigger than I expected. Yesterday, I had this huge thing in me, which is impressive," she admitted, her cheeks flushin' a deeper shade of pink. Despite her words, her hand moved with growing confidence, her strokes slow and deliberate.

Max chuckled, though his voice was tinged with strain. "Flattery will get you everywhere, Lyria."

She rolled her eyes, though a small smile played on her lips. Her movements continued, her touch becoming more assured as she watched his reactions. Max's breaths grew heavier, his body taut with tension as he resisted the urge to take control.

"You're a quick learner," he remarked, his voice low and gravelly. "But are you sure you're ready for more, like fellatio?"

Lyria hesitated, her hand stilling for a moment as she considered his words. She met his gaze, her sky-blue eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. "I… I don't think I'm ready for everything yet," she admitted, her voice soft. "But this… this feels okay."

Max nodded, his expression softening. "That's fine. We'll take it at your pace."

He placed a hand over hers, guiding her movements with a gentle but firm touch. Lyria's confidence grew as she followed his lead, her strokes becoming more rhythmic. Max's eyes fluttered shut for a moment, a low groan rumbling in his chest as he let himself enjoy the sensation.

*Burst*

Max's fluids bursts in Lyria's hand. She curiously puts her hand to her nose, sniffs it first, and then licks it a second later. "So, how do you like it?" Max asked with a playful smile on his lips. Lyria's cheeks flushed red from such a direct question and she dropped her head. "Y-Yummy, even a little sweet," she replied with her head still down. 'Cute,' Max thought.

After a while, Max shifted, gently pulling her hand away. "As much as I'd love to keep this going," he said, his tone teasing, "we've got a new day ahead of us."

Lyria laughed softly, her cheeks still flushed. "You're impossible," she muttered, though her smile betrayed her amusement.

Max leaned down, pressing a lingering kiss to her forehead. "And you're beautiful," he countered, his voice warm. "Now, let's get moving before the others start wondering where we are."

...

The day outside the tavern was already in full swing. Merchants shouted their wares in the bustling market square, children darted between stalls, and the scent of fresh bread and roasted meats filled the air. Max and Lyria stepped out into the sunlight, their casual demeanor masking the deeper connection they now shared.

Kaera's voice called out from across the square, drawing their attention. She stood with Thram and Garrick near the blacksmith's forge, her hands on her hips and a wry smile on her face.

"About time you two showed up," Kaera said, her tone teasing. "We were starting to think you'd decided to skip town."

Max smirked, slipping his hands into his pockets as he approached. "Miss us already?"

Thram let out a booming laugh, clapping Max on the back. "More like we're wondering if you've finally agreed to join us permanently, after more than seven years of trial expiriene?"

Lyria glanced at Max, her expression curious. He met her gaze briefly before turning back to the group. "Guess it's time to make it official," he said, his tone casual but firm. "Count me in."

Kaera's smile widened, though her green eyes held a flicker of something deeper—pride, perhaps, or satisfaction. "Welcome to the team, Max," she said, extending a hand.

Max shook it, his grip firm. "Let's make it interesting."

...

As the group discussed their plans for the day, Max's mind wandered. The events of the past few weeks had brought him closer to understanding his place in this world, but there were still too many unanswered questions. The Shadowthorn Syndicate, the corrupted beasts, the strange energy he'd felt in the forest—all of it pointed to something bigger, something he couldn't ignore.

'One step at a time,' he reminded himself, his crimson eyes scanning the bustling square. For now, he had a team, a purpose, and a chance to grow stronger. The rest would come in time.

As the sun climbed higher in the sky, Max felt a flicker of anticipation. The game was far from over, and he was ready for whatever came next.
