Ntando's pov
I watched Lena laugh with Ntsika, feeling a pang of unease. It had been two weeks since Ntsika's return, and I could sense the dynamics in the office shifting.
As CEO, I had grown accustomed to being in control, but Ntsika's presence made me feel like I was losing my footing. And Lena... well, Lena was a different story altogether.
I had been drawn to her from the start, but I had tried to keep our relationship professional. Now, as I saw her smiling at Ntsika, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy.
Just then, Lena excused herself and headed to the break room. I followed her, feeling a sense of trepidation.
"Lena, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
She turned to me, a questioning look on her face. "Of course, Ntando . What's up?"
I hesitated, unsure of how to broach the subject. But as I looked into her eyes, I saw a glimmer of vulnerability. And in that moment, I knew I had to take a chance.
"Lena, I was wondering if... maybe we could grab dinner sometime?" I asked, feeling my heart pound in my chest.
Lena's expression softened, and she smiled. "I'd like that, Ntando."
We exchanged numbers, I felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. I had taken a risk, but it seemed like it might just pay off.
